OMFG - a HUGE spider just dropped off of the ceiling onto my desk!

Right in front of my face. AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!

I deal with lots of stuff, but spiders threatening to get ON ME freak me the fuck out!

First thing I did was to roll my chair back, jump up and run out of the room. Then I found a weapon - the extendable net that I bought to skim crud off my pond but that serves duty in the house to direct birds out of the house.

I had to hunt for the spider - it'd dropped down under the desk and was cowering at the back corner.

Then I beat that fucking spider TO DEATH! I'm leaving it's dead body on the floor so I can check to make sure it is STILL DEAD.

I was only awake because I needed some water. Now I am pumped with adrenaline and feel crawly as if there were little spiders all over me. GAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! I may not be able to get back to sleep- EVER.

Too bad I pulverized it - I went to look it up and it could be a brown recluse spider. Now I will never know - not that I would have EVER examined close enough to be sure. They say the way to be sure is to count the eyes. Oh HELL NO!

Excuse me while I jitter for a few hours....

Most of the time, it's impossible to remain chill when you're a dog. The sheer panic of that everyday dog life would undoubtedly lead to a number of emergencies.

We can all agree that dealing with the suspicious mailman and constantly being harassed by a vacuum cleaner is definitely deserving of 911 call.

One possible explanation for gridlock in Washington is about to be explored in prime-time television: an infestation of brain-eating bugs.

Mind-blowing concept? That's BrainDead. The 13-episode scripted political parody-thriller-drama series from Good Wife husband-and-wife creators Robert and Michelle King premieres on CBS Monday at 10 ET/PT.

But it gets more complicated: Laurel, a documentary filmmaker, returns to Washington, D.C., to work for her brother (Danny Pino), a Democratic senator. She begins dating a staffer (Aaron Tveit) for Maryland's conservative Republican senator (Tony Shalhoub), amid a government shutdown that results from a political stalemate. More bad decisions follow, a result of a meteor that crashes on Earth, releasing bugs that appear to be eating the brains of senators and their staffers.

Going from the popular legal drama series Good Wife, which ended its seven-season run on CBS in May to a sci-fi political satire thriller might seem like risky move for the Kings, but for them, it's a no-brainer.

Hundreds allege Donald Trump doesn’t pay his bills

Donald Trump casts himself as a protector of workers and jobs, but a USA TODAY NETWORK investigation found hundreds of people – carpenters, dishwashers, painters, even his own lawyers – who say he didn’t pay them for their work.

Donald Trump often portrays himself as a savior of the working class who will "protect your job." But a USA TODAY NETWORK analysis found he has been involved in more than 3,500 lawsuits over the past three decades — and a large number of those involve ordinary Americans, like the Friels, who say Trump or his companies have refused to pay them.

At least 60 lawsuits, along with hundreds of liens, judgments, and other government filings reviewed by the USA TODAY NETWORK, document people who have accused Trump and his businesses of failing to pay them for their work. Among them: a dishwasher in Florida. A glass company in New Jersey. A carpet company. A plumber. Painters. Forty-eight waiters. Dozens of bartenders and other hourly workers at his resorts and clubs, coast to coast. Real estate brokers who sold his properties. And, ironically, several law firms that once represented him in these suits and others.

Trump’s companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, according to U.S. Department of Labor data. That includes 21 citations against the defunct Trump Plaza in Atlantic City and three against the also out-of-business Trump Mortgage LLC in New York. Both cases were resolved by the companies agreeing to pay back wages.

He's also had "more than 200 mechanic’s liens" filed against his properties and businesses. His companies have a pattern of underpaying employees - a dishwasher at his Mar-a-Lago property sued over unpaid overtime - not paying subcontractors and professionals - some real estate brokers had to sue to get six figure settlements and even one firm of lawyers ended up in court with claims of unpaid bills.

“Real estate is a tough and aggressive business, but most business people don’t set out to make their money by breaking the companies that they do business with,” said Colette Nelson of the American Subcontractors Association.

Watching newly fledged cardinals at the bird feeders

Two cardinals still with some of their baby fluff on them. One is very reddish but doesn't have the adult "top knot" while the other is more subdued color. Male and female adults are hanging around, making sure the youngsters can figure out where to find food and water.

The youngsters are funny - the young male discovered the bug-fruit-seed cylinder but seems frustrated at how hard it is to get the food free from the mass. The little female is checking out the seed tray - but the seed is getting a little sour from the humidity, plus my husband left it on the porch last night and the squirrels ate a lot of the seed on it this morning.

The parents keep trying to lead the youngsters over to the tube feeders, but the babies keep begging to be fed every time the adults come around so the parents fly off to let the kids figure things out..

If I'd known this was going to happen, I would have lifted the blinds all the way and gotten the cameras out!
