csziggy's JournalFurious Koch Brothers Sell Paul Ryan on eBay
The Kochs, who reportedly had purchased Ryan for a sum estimated in the tens of millions, now seem likely to lose their entire investment.
According to Ryans listing on the auction site, the Kochs set a five-hundred-dollar asking price for the used congressman, a figure that, in light of the tepid bidding for him, seems optimistic.
Granted, owning Paul Ryan doesnt have the benefits that its had for David and Charles for all of these years, but the status of owning a former Speaker of the House has to be worth something, one Koch associate said. Certainly more than the current high bid of seventeen dollars.
The eBay listing suggested several possible uses for the former House Speaker, including as a Halloween ornament or garden gnome.

"This comes as the President's new national advisor - OMG there he is!"
Chris Matthews just now said that with the phrase after the hyphen in total horror. I missed anything else Chris said since I was laughing too hard.

Scientists Solve Mystery of Dinosaur Mass Grave
Old article but still interesting.
Friday, June 9, 2017
For paleontologists, the Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry in the US state of Utah has long been a site of broad abundance and deep mystery.
The quarry is crammed with Jurassic period fossils in far greater quantity than those found at any other site so far discovered. If that wasnt weird enough, the fossil debris is dominated by the massive predator species, Allosaurus.
<SNIP>
The appropriate conclusion, write the scientists in the journal PeerJ, is that there was no mass fatality event and no over-population of Allosaurus.
Instead, it is likely that most, if not all, of the dinosaurs died at different times some little distance from the quarry and were then washed into their final resting place by periodic flooding.

Michael Avenatti has learned a lot about strip tease from his client!
Today most of the daytime shows on MSNBC were talking about how Avenatti keeps "drip, drip, dripping" more and more about Stormy Daniels and Trump.
I believe Avenatti has learned a lot from his client. Strip tease is about not revealing everything at once - the dancers do not walk out naked or even close to naked. They come out many times fully dressed and gradually remove their clothes, turning up the heat a little at a time.
That is what Avenatti and Stormy Daniels are doing to Trump - turning up the heat.
Eventually something is going to blow - either Trump or the GOP.
Orange & Stormy Cocktail from AM Joy's guest!
2 oz. bitters
ginger beer
Build over ice and stir gently!
Perfect for drinking while watching the Stormy Daniels interview tonight.
I don't drink anymore, but this sounds tempting.
Liberal Redneck - Ex Tillerson
I love the bit where he compares this administration to Catch 22! Listen for it.
In honor of John Bolton's appointment - a Tom Lehrer revival!
In another thread I posted Tom Lehrer's We Will All Go Together When We Go but then I realized that Lehrer had many songs that are appropriate to the danger that having Bolton in the Trump White House poses to us today. Lehrer wrote and performed his songs in the 1960s while the Cold War was at its height. I was in high school then and many of us thought we would not live to be adults.
Here we go, a revival of the amusing nihilist side of Tom Lehrer:
And to end on a positive note:
