Marjorie Taylor Greene penned conspiracy theory that a laser beam from space started deadly 2018 Cal
...
Conspiracy theorists have pushed other explanations for the Camp Fire, especially on social media. One theory, which has been promoted by QAnon followers, falsely posits that a nefarious entity used laser beams or a similar instrument to start the fire for financial profit or to clear space for Californias high-speed rail system.
Rep. Greene is a proponent of the Camp Fire laser beam conspiracy theory. She wrote a November 17, 2018, Facebook post -- which is no longer available online -- in which she said that she was speculating because there are too many coincidences to ignore regarding the fire, including that then-California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) wanted to build the high-speed rail project and oddly there are all these people who have said they saw what looked like lasers or blue beams of light causing the fires. She also speculated that a vice chairman at Rothschild Inc, international investment banking firm was somehow involved, and suggested the fire was caused by a beam from space solar generators.
Greene added: If they are beaming the suns energy back to Earth, Im sure they wouldnt ever miss a transmitter receiving station right??!! I mean mistakes are never made when anything new is invented. What would that look like anyway? A laser beam or light beam coming down to Earth I guess. Could that cause a fire? Hmmm, I dont know. I hope not! That wouldnt look so good for PG&E, Rothschild Inc, Solaren or Jerry Brown who sure does seem fond of PG&E.

Robinhood App Hit With Lawsuit After Trying to Shut Down GameStop Uprising
Source: The Daily Beast
The financial trading app Robinhood is being sued by a user after it restricted trades to stocks popular on the Reddit forum r/WallStreetBets, according to a lawsuit filed in federal court Thursday.
The suit, filed in the Southern District of New York, alleges that the app purposefully, willfully, and knowingly removing the stock GME from its trading platform in the midst of an unprecedented stock rise, thereby deprived [sic] retail investors of the ability to invest in the open-market and manipulating the open-market.
Users of r/WallStreetBets had helped pump up the stock prices of struggling companies, most famously GameStop, as a counter to short-selling investment strategies. Through the subreddits campaign, GameStops stock ($GME) went from under $4 a share in early 2020 to well over $400 earlier on Thursday.
However, on Thursday morning, Robinhood restricted further trading of $GMEalong with other stocks popular in the forum, such as BlackBerry, Nokia, and AMConly allowing users to close out of their positions.

N.Y. Severely Undercounted Virus Deaths in Nursing Homes, Report Says
Source: NYT
ALBANY, N.Y. The New York State attorney general accused the Cuomo administration of undercounting coronavirus-related deaths at nursing homes by as much as 50 percent, according to a report released on Thursday.
The count of deaths in state nursing homes has been a source of controversy for Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and state Health Department officials, who have been sensitive to any suggestion that they played any role in the number of nursing home deaths, which the state put at more than 8,500.
They have also been accused of obscuring a more accurate estimate of nursing home deaths, because the state only counted deaths at the actual facilities, rather than including deaths of residents who were transferred to a hospital and died there.
In the 76-page report released by the attorney general, Letitia James, a survey of nursing homes found consistent discrepancies between deaths reported to the attorney generals investigators and those officially released by the Health Department.

Robinhood Stops Users From Trading GameStop Stocks, Other Reddit YOLO Picks
According to screenshots shared on social media, on Thursday morning a notification appeared on Robinhood telling users that they could close their position on GameStop's stock, but not buy any additional shares. Redditors are currently panicking, looking for ways to transfer their shares of GameStop off of Robinhood to other platforms, and are generally furious at the platform.
In a blog post, Robinhood confirmed that it has placed restrictions on several stocks due to volatility. We continuously monitor the markets and make changes where necessary. In light of recent volatility, we are restricting transactions for certain securities to position closing only, including $AMC, $BB, $BBBY, $EXPR, $GME, $KOSS, $NAKD and $NOK. We also raised margin requirements for certain securities, the blog post read.
Robinhood did not respond to a request for comment.
