Flying Water Taxis are coming to Paris this Summer

Source: Messy Nessy Chic

...

So here is what we know:

• Each shuttle will carry 5 people, including a pilot (until regulations change to allow self-driving models)

• They will be used with an application similar to Uber and cost no more than €10 a ride

• You’ll able to summon them to specially-designed docks which will also serve as charging stations

• They will be zero emission and eco-friendly, built with biodegradable material

• They’ll be silent and generate no waves

• They will hover a few inches above water, travelling at a maximum speed of 30km imposed by the city (about the speed of going downhill on a bicycle)

Napolitano told friends he was on Trump's Supreme Court shortlist

Source: Politico

Judge Andrew Napolitano may be temporarily sidelined at Fox News, but he’s been telling friends and associates that he could be in for a big promotion — to the Supreme Court.

After meeting with President Trump twice during the transition, first in December and again in mid-January, the Newark, N.J.-born television personality told several people that Trump said he was on the list of judges from whom he was selecting a nominee for the high court.

“He said, ‘Trump said I’m on the list,’” said a source who spoke with Napolitano shortly after one of his meetings with the then president-elect. “He’s been saying that since the transition.”

Friends warned Napolitano not to take the president too literally – or seriously. “He'll take your call and invite you to the Oval Office, but he just wants you to say nice things about him on TV,” the source says he told Napolitano at the time. But that didn’t sink the ambitious judge’s hopes.

The DNC "Turnaround Tour" hits Michigan today. Thank you Chairperson Perez and Rep. Ellison!

DNC leaders headed to Michigan to try and reverse GOP vote

Source: Freep

The newly elected leaders of the Democratic National Committee are traveling to Michigan Friday, in part, to ensure that the state begins the transition back to voting for Democrats for president.

It will be the first stop of a nationwide "Turnaround Tour" for DNC chairman Tom Perez and deputy chairman Keith Ellison, a Detroit native and congressman from Minnesota. Their stops in Warren, Flint and Detroit will give voters a chance to hear their vision for the party and the country, as well as get input from Michiganders on what they feel is important.

"This is a strong indication that nationally, people know that Michigan is a critical state and we need to do a better job of reaching out to voters," said Brandon Dillon, chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party. "The election did not go our way and our organizations have an obligation to really be out there listening to what democratic and independent voters have to say.

"It's really time to regroup and rebuild political power."

In Michigan, voters had been casting their ballots for Democratic presidential candidates in every election since 1992 and nearly all the polls before the 2016 election predicted the streak would continue with a victory for Democrat Hillary Clinton.

After Promising Not To Talk Business With Father, Eric Trump Says He'll Give Him Financial Reports

Source: Fortune

Eric Trump sits behind a desk on the 25th floor of Trump Tower in New York City, dressed in a slightly less formal version of his father’s go-to power uniform—blue suit, white buttoned-down shirt, no tie. There are reminders of Donald Trump everywhere in this office, including the TV in the corner that beams out wall-to-wall news about the president any time his son turns it on. Amidst it all, Eric Trump, who now manages the Trump Organization with his brother Don Jr., wants to emphasize that the Trump business is separate from the Trump presidency.

“There is kind of a clear separation of church and state that we maintain, and I am deadly serious about that exercise,” he says, echoing previous statements from his father. “I do not talk about the government with him, and he does not talk about the business with us. That’s kind of a steadfast pact we made, and it’s something that we honor.”

But less than two minutes later, he concedes that he will continue to update his father on the business while he is in the presidency. “Yeah, on the bottom line, profitability reports and stuff like that, but you know, that’s about it.” How often will those reports be, every quarter? “Depending, yeah, depending.” Could be more, could be less? “Yeah, probably quarterly.” One thing is clear: “My father and I are very close,” Eric Trump says. “I talk to him a lot. We’re pretty inseparable.”

The apparent contradiction troubles ethics experts. “The statement that the president made earlier that he wasn’t going to talk to his children about the business sounded good, but the reality was there was no way to enforce it,” says Larry Noble, general counsel of the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center and a former chief ethics officer at the Federal Election Commission. “He is breaking down one of the few barriers he claimed to be establishing between him and his businesses, and those barriers themselves were weak to begin with. But if he is now going to get reports from his son about the businesses, then he really isn’t separate in any real way.”

Trump Calls Out Freedom Caucus In Tweet Ahead Of Uncertain Repeal Vote

Source: TPM

As Republicans geared up for a vote on their bill to repeal and replace Obamacare on Friday morning, despite uncertainty that leaders had gained enough support to pass the bill, President Donald Trump tried to push the conservative Freedom Caucus to back the legislation.

Trump used his favorite communication tool, Twitter, to single out the Freedom Caucus for its members' opposition to the House bill. The President noted that the bill would defund Planned Parenthood and that the caucus would be forgoing an attempt to block funding for the organization, perhaps in the hopes that he could shame the caucus into backing the bill.

After seven horrible years of ObamaCare (skyrocketing premiums & deductibles, bad healthcare), this is finally your chance for a great plan!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 24, 2017

The irony is that the Freedom Caucus, which is very pro-life and against Planned Parenthood, allows P.P. to continue if they stop this plan!

Not Love, Actually: Emma Thompson Says President Trump Once Asked Her Out

Source: Time

...

As Thompson tells it, one day she was in her trailer when the phone rang. "I look at it and it's like weird, like a moose has entered," she joked. "I lift up the phone [and hear] 'Hi, it's Donald Trump here.' I say 'Really? Can I help you?,' and he says 'I wonder if I can offer you some accommodation in one of my Trump Towers, they're really comfortable?'

Thompson, who is now married to English actor and producer Greg Wise, said after asking the now-President why he was offering her somewhere to stay, Trump responded: "Why you know, I think we would get on very well. Maybe we could have dinner some time?"

"I didn't know what to do with myself," the Saving Mr Banks actress admitted. "I was on my own and just said 'Um, OK, I'll get back to you. Thank you so much for the offer'." After recovering from the shock revelation, the SVT joked that Thompson could be the first lady. "You could have stopped him," added one of the guests.
