Imagine yourself coming back home from a long trip and… not being able to find it.

This might actually happen if you lived in one of the buildings that got touched by this talented French street artist Patrick Commecy. Together with his team, he creates huge murals of hyper-realistic facades that bring blank and boring city walls to life.

What’s interesting here is that while these realistic yet fake facades trick you at first glance, some of the people painted there were once real. Commecy often paints many notable people from the history of the town the mural is in. Can you spot any of them?

They came bearing smiles and messages of support, not to mention cuddles from a few friendly service dogs.

On Saturday morning, survivors of the June 12 shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, which claimed 49 lives, were visited by a group that has lived through similar tragedy. Ten survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing visited six Orlando survivors at the Orlando Regional Medical Center, the hospital said in an emailed statement.

Visiting Pulse survivor Angel Colon, Boston survivor Celeste Corcoran shared a message of tolerance. "There's post-traumatic stress and it helps to talk with someone who has been through similar situations," she said, according to the statement. "People who try and spread hate, it does the exact opposite, it brings together strangers and we are more tolerant of people.

"What happened was horrific and should never have happened but in their memory we choose to be nice to someone else, to pay it forward."

The last time that Swedish firm Adolfsson & Partners designed the Stockholm offices of games developer King, the makers of Candy Crush Saga, it went for a wildly cartoonish assault on the senses. For a new office space for the company, it went back to basics with a concept based on the Swedish forest, “a place for us to be free, in both mind and spirit,” the designers said in a press release.

Based on an idea from King’s Vice President of Creative Production Adam Schaub, the firm sought to replicate “the same inspiring and calming effect that you get from spending time in natural surroundings.”

To maximize natural light, it built a sunken glass-roofed “well” that is the centerpiece of the office. The wall of the reception is swathed in Norwegian lichen. Earth-toned carpeting is a nod to rock, moss, and soil. Tree and woodland animal silhouettes made from painted plywood populate the open office, complemented by real plants.

Adolfsson & Partners worked with Nordic lighting design firm AF Lighting to create adjustable ambient lighting built into walls and building columns, rather than standard office ceiling lights, to foster the feeling of “being in a forest where the light changes depending on the season.”

During apartheid, barriers were both constructed and modified to segregate urban spaces—roads, rivers, and large stretches of open land separating rich neighborhoods from the poor. Twenty-two years later these barriers still exist, large homes with lush lawns just a few yards away from tightly-packed communities organized with dirt roads rather than tree-lined streets. Photographer Johnny Miller wanted to capture the dramatic divide from a new perspective, and decided to shoot many areas in South Africa from several hundred feet in the air for a series titled “Unequal Scenes.”

By utilizing aerial photographs, the separation is all the more apparent, suburban sprawl nestled up against tight and overcrowded streets. Due to the camera’s position so high in the air, the details of each area becomes obscured. It is difficult to pinpoint an exact location for the photographs, allowing the viewer to relate the imagery to communities in their own part of the world that may also carry distinct inequalities.

“My desire with this project is to portray the most Unequal Scenes in South Africa as objectively as possible,” Miller explains in a statement about the project. “By providing a new perspective on an old problem, I hope to provoke a dialogue which can begin to address the issues of inequality and disenfranchisement in a constructive and peaceful way.”
