Donald Trump whipped up another rowdy ovation from a friendly crowd this week with an attack on the media, accusing journalists of being “very, very dishonest” and refusing to give him credit for his purported achievements.
But rather than the usual sports stadium packed with partisans in red baseball caps, this tirade against the press was applauded by dozens of senior law enforcement officials in the splendour of the East Room of the White House.
The episode unfolded on Wednesday afternoon, after the New York Times published an article by an unidentified senior Trump administration official who claimed to be one of many working to thwart Trump’s “worst inclinations” and frustrate his agenda.
Some figures in law enforcement were dismayed by the sheriffs’ response to Trump’s remarks.
“They are supposed to be leaders, not puppets who cheer attacks on the media,” said Michael Bromwich, a former federal prosecutor. “A shameful scene.”

The Bizarre Fad Diet Taking the Far Right by Storm
This summer, Canadian psychologist and alt-right darling Jordan Peterson appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast to talk about his new health regimen: “I’ve been on a pure carnivore diet for about two months,” Peterson said. First he had gone low-carb, eating only meat and greens, but then he nixed the greens altogether. Peterson drew inspiration from his daughter, Mikhaila Peterson, who claims that eating nothing but beef, salt, and water for eight months helped her overcome her struggles with arthritis and depression. (She now advertises $75 half-hour Skype consultations about the extreme elimination diet.) She detailed her daily intake in an April interview posted to YouTube:
Ribeye is generally what I like the best. It’s really fast in the morning, so I’ll fry one of those. I could just eat ribeye all the time, but it’s expensive. So we have ribs, hamburger, roasts, and then I make jerky on Saturdays so I have something easy to grab all the time.
The Petersons embrace “carnivorism,” as it’s come to be known, for health reasons, as does “carnivore king” Shawn Baker, a former orthopedic surgeon and head of the World Carnivore Tribe Facebook group. But some conservatives, many of them inspired by the Petersons, have taken up all-meat diets for a different purpose: to piss off liberals. “Meat is poised to be the next proxy battleground in a left-right culture war,” wrote Daily Beast reporter Kelly Weill in a recent piece on the trend.
“Meat production, particularly beef, creates more greenhouse gases and requires more energy than vegetable farming, leading environmentalists (statistically a left-leaning set) to call for meat reduction,” Weill wrote. “In response, an all-red meat ‘carnivore diet’ is surging in popularity among conservatives; Fox News has done so many segments where an anchor debates a feminist vegetarian in front of a steak they’ve become formulaic.” Carnivorism disciples include Andrew Torba, the conservative founder of alternative Twitter site Gab.

Trump Administration Discussed Coup Plans With Rebel Venezuelan Officers

The Trump administration held secret meetings with rebellious military officers from Venezuela over the last year to discuss their plans to overthrow President Nicolás Maduro, according to American officials and a former Venezuelan military commander who participated in the talks.
Establishing a clandestine channel with coup plotters in Venezuela was a big gamble for Washington, given its long history of covert intervention across Latin America. Many in the region still deeply resent the United States for backing previous rebellions, coups and plots in countries like Cuba, Nicaragua, Brazil and Chile, and for turning a blind eye to the abuses military regimes committed during the Cold War.
The White House, which declined to answer detailed questions about the talks, said in a statement that it was important to engage in “dialogue with all Venezuelans who demonstrate a desire for democracy” in order to “bring positive change to a country that has suffered so much under Maduro.”
But one of the Venezuelan military commanders involved in the secret talks was hardly an ideal figure to help restore democracy: He is on the American government’s own sanctions list of corrupt officials in Venezuela.

Jackson became a years-long fixation for Moonves after the so-called “wardrobe malfunction” of 2004, when her breast was exposed for nine-sixteenths of a second after Justin Timberlake tore a piece of fabric off her bustier during their Super Bowl halftime performance. CBS and MTV (a subsidiary of Viacom, the parent company of CBS at the time), which produced the halftime show, faced a torrent of criticism and a $550,000 Federal Communications Commission fine.

A 7 Action News investigation found not only is the state not cracking down, it is rubber stamping such practices.
Melinda McKee’s husband Jim last fall got news that stopped them in their tracks. He had stage 4 lung cancer.
In January of this year, he died.
“I am still mourning his loss,” McKee said. “I miss him like crazy.”
She called her insurance company to cancel the insurance on his leased car and got shocking news.
“I got a letter from AAA that said because I am a widow I am in a higher risk bracket,” said McKee.

Psychiatrist: Trump admin officials contacted me because president was 'scaring' them

Officials from the Trump administration reportedly contacted a Yale University psychiatrist last year because President Trump was "scaring" them.
Dr. Bandy Lee told Salon and The New York Daily News on Thursday that two White House officials flagged Trump's behavior last October.
"[They] said that Trump was 'scaring' them, that he was 'unraveling," Lee, who wrote the book, "The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President,” told Salon.
"Not wishing to confuse the role I chose, as an educator of the public, and a potential treatment role, I referred them to the local emergency room without inquiring much further," Lee added to Salon.
