ZELENSKIY at White House said he wants to “work faster with the frozen Russian assets,” which is over $300 billion frozen assets “from terrorists.” Wants to use it to protect against Russia’s war, he said.

McConnell putting the knife in Zelenskyy's back shortly after walking him around the Capitol

NEWS: McConnell told Senate R’s during lunch just now that the Ukraine/border talks are not going anywhere this year, and that it’ll be punted to January, per attendees.

Echoes what Lankford has been saying publicly but notable that it’s coming from McConnell.

Netanyahu vows to block Palestinian Authority from Gaza rule

Source: The Hill

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday vowed to block any attempt to install the Palestinian Authority (PA) in Gaza after the war with Hamas, putting him in direct opposition to the U.S., which wants to see the body rule the coastal strip after the war.

Netanyahu said in a video address that he was grateful for U.S. support in Israel’s bid to destroy Hamas but that there was “disagreement about the day after” the Palestinian militant group is defeated.

“I will not allow Israel to repeat the mistake of Oslo,” he said, referring to the 1993 accords that paved the way for Palestinian expansion in the West Bank and the rule in the territory of the PA.

“After the great sacrifice of our civilians and our soldiers,” Netanyahu continued, “I will not allow the entry into Gaza of those who educate for terrorism, support terrorism and finance terrorism.”

Nessel: Criminal investigation into former State House Speaker Lee Chatfield to be resolved "in short order"

We may soon learn the results of a nearly two-year investigation of former state House Speaker Lee Chatfield.

The investigation began after Chatfield’s former sister-in-law accused him of sexual assault. He denies the allegations. The investigation later reportedly expanded to include Chatfield’s campaign finances.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said earlier in 2023 she expected to wrap up the investigation by the end of the year.

In Flint Thursday, Nessel said her office is working “expeditiously” to resolve the investigation.

Sister-in-law: Ex-MI House Speaker Lee Chatfield sexually assaulted me as teen

LANSING—Former Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield manipulated and sexually assaulted the teenage girlfriend of his younger brother when she was a student at the Christian academy where he taught, the woman said she has told police.

Michigan State Police and the Lansing Police Department are investigating the criminal complaint filed by the woman, who is now Chatfield’s sister-in-law. She said the encounters continued for more than a decade into 2021.

Chatfield — a pastor’s son whose website was emblazoned with the slogan "Faith, Family, Service" before it went offline in the past week — was the youngest Michigan House speaker in more than a century when legislative colleagues elected him to the powerful position at the age of 30 in 2018.

But behind the squeaky clean image, Chatfield took advantage of the girl’s vulnerabilities when she was a high school student and continued to sexually assault her throughout his political tenure in Lansing, including inside his Capitol office, Rebekah Chatfield, now 26, said in a series of interviews in recent weeks with Bridge Michigan.

First on CNN: Federal prosecutors file new criminal case against Hunter Biden

Source: CNN

(CNN) — Federal prosecutors have filed a new criminal case against Hunter Biden, people briefed on the matter said.

The exact nature of the charges couldn’t immediately be learned because court documents have not been made public.

Special counsel David Weiss, in recent weeks, has been using a federal grand jury in Los Angeles to gather testimony and evidence on possible criminal tax charges against President Joe Biden’s son.

Hunter Biden already faces criminal charges in Delaware related to a gun purchase.

Doug Emhoff: To celebrate Hanukkah this year, we were loaned a few special menorahs to commemorate this holiday...

To celebrate Hanukkah this year, we were loaned a few special menorahs to commemorate this holiday dedicated to light, hope, resilience, and the enduring strength of the Jewish people.

The first menorah was created out of flattened nails and scrap metal by Erwin Thieberger, a Holocaust survivor and coppersmith who modeled his menorahs after those he made in concentration camps during WWII. This series of menorahs made out of nails, evoking the menorahs of the Camps, expresses the darkness of the Jewish past while also providing the light of hope.

The second menorah was designed by the Jewish architect Daniel Libeskind, in honor of the eleven victims who were massacred at the Tree of Life mass shooting in 2018.

The Jewish community is going through a difficult time right now as antisemitic hate and violence rises in the United States and abroad. We light these menorahs to honor and remember those who can’t join us, and in the hope for a future where we can all live free of hate.
