"Ama is a silent film. It tells a story everyone can interpret in their own way, based on their own experience. There is no imposition, only suggestions.
I wanted to share my biggest pain in this life with this film. For this is not too crude, I covered it with grace. To make it not too heavy, I plunged it into the water.
I dedicate this film to all the women of the world."

Former Gov. Rick Snyder named Harvard fellow
Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government announced Friday that Rick Snyder begins work as a senior research fellow Monday. His fellowship is with the school's Taubman Center for State and Local Government.
Center Director Jeffrey Liebman says in a statement the two-term Republican governor brings "expertise in management, public policy and promoting civility." Snyder says he looks forward to sharing his experiences.
He's previously said he's most proud of Detroit's turnaround and keeping young people in Michigan.

She worried her son with autism would bother his seatmate on the plane. Instead, they became friends

(CNN)When her 7-year-old son had to fly solo to visit his dad, Alexa Bjornson was a little worried.
Bjornson's son, Landon, has autism, and traveling can be difficult for him. Because the mom didn't know how Landon would fare on his own, she gave her son a note to present to the passenger next to him.
The message explained that Ben has high-functioning autism and might frequently ask "Are we there yet?" She also included $10 for the person for helping her son feel safe and comfortable.
"I thought, how do I make it so whoever's sitting next to him won't look at him as a burden but more of like, I can help this kiddo get through the day," Bjornson told CNN affiliate KATU.
Ben Pedraza ended up sitting next to Landon, but he didn't need any cash incentive to enjoy a great flight with Landon. They were heading from Las Vegas to Oregon on Thursday.

Federal judge: Let doctors into child migrant detention centers, quickly
Source: CNN
(CNN)A federal judge has ordered US Customs and Border Protection to permit health experts into detention facilities holding migrant children to ensure they're "safe and sanitary" and assess the children's medical needs.
The order encompasses all facilities in the CBP's El Paso and Rio Grande Valley sectors, which are the subject of a lawsuit.

Last week, lawyers asked US District Judge Dolly Gee to hold President Donald Trump's administration in contempt and order immediate improvements at the facilities. The lawyers are part of a team of doctors and advocates that warned last week of what they said were major health and hygiene problems at Customs and Border Protection facilities in Texas following visits to the facilities.
"Children are held for weeks in deplorable conditions, without access to soap, clean water, showers, clean clothing, toilets, toothbrushes, adequate nutrition or adequate sleep. The children, including infants and expectant mothers, are dirty, cold, hungry and sleep-deprived," the court filing said.
