If the New York Times puts Wordle behind a paywall, I swear to God

The sudden hit Wordle, in which once a day players get six chances to guess a five-letter word, has been acquired by The New York Times Company.

The purchase, announced by The Times on Monday, reflects the growing importance of games, like crosswords and Spelling Bee, in the company’s quest to increase digital subscriptions to 10 million by 2025.

Wordle was acquired from its creator, Josh Wardle, a software engineer in Brooklyn, for a price “in the low seven figures,” The Times said. The company said the game would initially remain free to new and existing players.

“If you take the United States of America out of the fossil industry right now, I guarantee it, the climate will get more and more challenged and dirtier.”

Exclusive: Kamala Harris drove within several yards of pipe bomb at DNC headquarters during Capitol

Source: CNN

Multiple sources now tell CNN Harris pulled into DNC headquarters in Washington at around 11:30 a.m. ET with her motorcade through the garage leading to the parking deck near where law enforcement discovered the pipe bomb.

Harris' whereabouts and movements on January 6, 2021, have been shrouded in uncertainty. Her presence at the DNC wasn't known until earlier this month, when few details became public about her evacuation from its headquarters minutes after a pipe bomb was discovered nearby.

According to an internal US Capitol Police timeline, an unnamed "protectee" was removed from the DNC building at approximately 1:14 p.m. ET -- seven minutes after Capitol Police began investigating the bomb. CNN reported earlier in January that the person was Harris. The Capitol Police timeline did not specify when Harris arrived at the building. Politico first reported on Harris' evacuation.

A law enforcement source familiar with the event told CNN that the US Secret Service, which was responsible for Harris' protection that day, swept the interior of the building, the driveway, parking deck and entrances and exits prior to her arrival. The source said Harris was evacuated using an alternate route away from the bomb.

The dude Sarah Palin was dining with (after testing positive two days prior)- gossip/Page Six:

Sarah Palin is hooking up with NY Rangers great Ron Duguay

Juneau who Sarah Palin is secretly hooking up with? We do.

Spies say that the one-time VP hopeful, 57, has been playing tonsil hockey with Rangers great Ron Duguay, 64.

After Palin made headlines for going out to dinner in the city after testing positive for COVID-19, those in the know pointed out to us that her dinner companion in the incriminating shots was none other than sticks star Duguay — and we’re told that they’ve been Zamboning since late last year.

Of course, Palin’s high school sweetheart Todd filed for divorce from the former governor of Alaska in August 2019 after 31 years of marriage. They have five children, including former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Bristol.

State senate candidate Mike Detmer takes it a step further: "We need to be prepared to lock & load,"

Candidate for MI governor Ryan D. Kelley tells prospective poll workers to unplug tabulation machines if they suspect fraud in the 2022 election. State senate candidate Mike Detmer takes it a step further: “We need to be prepared to lock & load,” he says. “Show up armed.”

We put these signs up outside the Trump rally today and we are honestly just trying to help.

It's a wee bit cold in NYC for this outfit:

Watch this: Video from inside shooter’s car captures road rage incident

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Nearly a dozen shots were fired by one driver in an apparent road rage dispute in North Miami. The shooter told Florida Highway Patrol that he shot because he thought the other driver had a gun.

Local 10 reported the story in late June when two cars were on the side of the road, one riddled with bullets on the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near 135th Street.

The driver who fired the shots is 30-year-old Eric Popper of Deerfield Beach and the dash camera that caught everything was in his vehicle.

The chilling dash camera video was provided to Local 10 by talk show host Andy Slater. It shows the moments leading up to incident and the shooting itself where Popper actually shoots bullet holes through his own car to get to the other driver.
