I keep hearing a bunch of rich folks at DU say it ain't so.
Weird.
The great news is that tomorrow in Washington DC, "Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) will be addressing the largest ever strike of fast food workers who are fighting for union rights and to raise the minimum wage."
He'll be right in his element supporting the agitation.

Black Youth Project 100 is an activist member-based organization of Black 18-35 year olds, dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black people.
Adding another image. There are a ton of them from various organizations with the same message. Many of the organizations are Black for the simple reason that, for example, in a place like New York City, 1/2 of all Black workers are low wage workers. Waiting for the women's groups because 2/3 of fast food workers are women.
Staggering injustice.

Open Letter to Hillary Clinton from a Young Palestinian Feminist

Dear Secretary Clinton:
As a young Palestinian girl growing up in a patriarchal society, your speeches about women's rights inspired me to imagine a world where gender equality could exist. As first lady, you famously declared, "Women's rights are human rights." That's something I strongly believe, too.
That's why I was surprised to read your article in The Forward. I was surprised because when you chose to speak about my homeland, not once did you mention Israel's human rights violations against Palestinian women and children. Even worse, you described us as lurking terrorists motivated only by "incitement," as if the Israeli military occupation does not exist.
I am not a terrorist. I do not believe in the use of violence. I am a young Palestinian woman who grew up under occupation and is trying to better my life through education. It has not been easy. Starting at the age of five, I had to pass through Israeli military checkpoints to go to school. I was searched and humiliated on a daily basis, along with my parents and sisters. One day soldiers released dogs to chase after us. They shot their guns at us. I could have been killed, as many Palestinians are, for no reason. I could have been Hadeel Salah al-Hashlamun, the 18-year-old woman and college student who Israeli soldiers killed at a checkpoint in September.
There are millions of women and girls like me. What about us? According to your article, we do not exist. We are invisible, like women have been treated throughout history.
Did you know that half of Palestinians are women and girls? Did you know that like our brothers, we also live under military occupation, and that Israeli settlers steal our land? Did you know that pregnant women rushing to the hospital have been stopped at checkpoints and have given birth there? Did you know about Isra' Abed, the young Palestinian mother who posed no threat but was gunned down by Israeli police in Afula? Did you know about Mohammed Abu Khdeir, the Palestinian child who was kidnapped and burned alive last year by Israeli settlers? Did you know that the Israeli army killed 17 Palestinian children in the last month just for throwing stones, or for nothing at all?
You did not mention any of these things in your article. But I'm sure you know these things. You were the secretary of state and talk about getting the cease-fire in Gaza. I'm sure you know these things, but you chose to remain silent about them. Maybe that's good politics here in America, but it means pretending that people like me do not exist.
Secretary Clinton, you have been an inspiration for women and girls around the world. My own dream is to become a human rights and peace activist, but your article left me deeply frustrated. I know you can be better. Please do not forget us again.

Hillary Clinton's election as U.S. president would ensure Israel’s continued decline and degeneration. And so she is not a friend, but an enemy. She must not be allowed to deceive and present herself as a friend of Israel, as she tried so ingratiatingly to do in an article published in The Forward (“How I would reaffirm unbreakable bond with Israel — and Benjamin Netanyahu”) last week. The tear ducts were targeted as she wrote of how she assisted Magen David Adom in being accepted to the International Red Cross. But she and those like her – false friends of Israel – have been one of the curses on this country for years. Because of them, Israel can continue to act as wildly as it likes, thumbing its nose at the world and paying no price. Because of them, it can destroy itself unhindered.
Whether Clinton believes what she wrote or simply wanted once again to sell her soul for a fistful of dollars from Haim Saban and other Jewish donors, the result is extremely embarrassing. A love letter to Israel, the likes of which no U.S. statesman would ever write to another country. Americans believe “Israel is more than a country – it’s a dream,” she states. Most of the world calls it a nightmare, yet Clinton says a dream. What dream exactly? The dream of tyrannical control over another people? Racism? Nationalism? The killing of women and children in Gaza?
What happened to the Hillary Rodham Clinton who in her youth fought for civil rights and against the Vietnam War, and as a lawyer specialized in children’s rights? Did she not hear what her dream state is doing to Palestinian children? What happened to the glorious career woman who was considered liberal and justice-seeking on her way up? Did she forget it all? Does money buy everything? Or, when it comes to Israel, do all principles suddenly change?
Did the former secretary of state not hear about the Israeli occupation? After all, she didn’t mention it once in her article. This is not the time or place to anger Saban. To Clinton, Israel is a “thriving democracy” and to hell with the violent and totalitarian regime in its backyard. And so Clinton is also an enemy of peace and justice. She doesn’t believe there has been the slightest damage to Palestinian rights. Israelis being stabbed in Jerusalem “appalls” Clinton. Palestinians being unjustifiably shot to death, meanwhile, fails to register with her. They will love her for that on Fifth Avenue. Religious figures who encourage killing are, of course, only Muslim; only Israeli security must be vouchsafed. The synagogues of Manhattan will love that, too. Clinton pledges to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during her first month in office. Also, that she will send a delegation of the U.S. Army’s Joint Chiefs of Staff to Israel. What for, exactly?

I'll betcha almost all those *supposedly* proBernie members are on my ignore list starting with the "I support Bernie BUT..." crowd. They're comically obvious.
I really think the only answer is to try to get as many real Bernie supporters on as possible to balance things out. The make-up here is 80-90% pro-Bernie and that should be the approximate make-up in MIRT too. I think once the numbers are balanced out and more representational, the fakes who genuflect will have a harder time maintaining their charade as real Bernie supporters weigh in. It's not like they're fooling anyone anyway.
I am sorry that the few Bernie supporters who volunteered were outnumbered and beat up on. I hope we can change that. No one should be getting beaten up on and no one who posts at a site openly dedicated to persecuting Bernie and his supporters should even be on MIRT. It makes the whole thing an ugly joke.
There are many days I really don't feel like posting here because off all the bullshit going on but it matters and solidarity matters too. If Bernie can keep slogging through all that hate, so can we I think. The real question is how on earth did so many of us step away from the plate and leave just a few brave souls to represent us on that team? And what are we going to do about it to make sure our voices are proportionally represented?
You know, I only opined on this because I can see what Bernie supporters like you who are graciously serving on MIRT are being subjected to. I know everyone's supposed to pretend nothing's amiss for some fake sort of harmony but that's bullshit and exactly why the Party is so stunned now that so many people won't play ball anymore after all that intellectually insulting pretending.

Speaking to Latino elected and appointed officials in Las Vegas, the Vermont Senator delivered a rousing sermon about economic populism and social justice a day after Clinton offered remarks to the same crowd. While there were fewer reporters crowded on the press riser, Sanders still drew a full ballroom on the glitzy Vegas Strip and brought the crowd to its feet several times.
“Brothers and sisters, there is a lot of work to be done,” said Sanders, a political Independent who caucuses with the Democrats. “But when we stand up to those people on top whose greed has done so much damage to this country … there is no limit to what this great country can accomplish.”
Sanders said he backs President Barack Obama’s policy that spared some younger immigrants in the country illegally deportation. It was particularly helpful to children whose parents were brought them to the country as children, occasionally known as Dreamers.
Sanders he would expand the program to “parents of citizens, parents of legal permanent residents and parents of Dreamers.”
“We cannot and we should not be talking about sweeping up millions of men, women and children, many of whom have been in this country for years,” Sanders said to applause. He said splitting up families—leaving children in the United States while parents or cousins were sent home—was against the country’s values.
Sanders, for sure, is running behind Clinton in polling and fundraising. But he has been workmanlike in building a campaign. His slow-and-steady approach has captured the imagination of Democrats’ most liberal corners, who are skeptical if not hostile to a second Clinton being President.
