Can't disagree with most, myself, but.

As a male who frankly will very likely never get married and have the sort of life my elders did,I would say that we must be careful not to discount the very real power of malice that the cultures encourages. It is not "entertaining ourselves" to call out behavior that is destructive to others and themselves, it is needed. The only way people turn away from behavior is not when it is rewarded,or even where it is punished, but when it stops being desirable, when people become disenchanted with it. We must make feel who want to partake in this feel like losers, much the same way smoking among teens went down when the ads stopped moralizingand made smoking look uncool.

And yes the " growing numbers of unhappy single men who can't live the lives available to others were a factor in the trump phenomenon." But can you reall separate the malice from the discontent? For every "I cannot live like my dad" part, there are three parts "kill and punish those people you should hate!" This is not new, because in the 1930's there were people who also felt jipped, and who had a reason to. There were attempts by the fascists to get influence. However, those same young men,and young women, rejected it,and became Rosie the Riveter and Gi Joe.

Of course the economy has to be confronted, indeed, the nation needs to lose enchantment with the all too male fantasy of USA-style, unbridled capitalism. That is what fuels men to feel inadeqaute, because billionaires have no interest in making sure that the working people feel anything but a competition that gets the energy of the people and also reduces them to harmless ashes in the process. For any millionaire jock, there is a Billionaire owner who will still be wealthy long after lawyers and predators reduce the athlete to a crippled, broke man.

About Barbara Bush

Normally I do not consider the wives or children of political enemies fair game. As we speak, Melania Trump is probably in her own private hell realizing that her husband really was worse than most people thought. However, for Babs Bush , I need to make an exception, because she was knee deep in the gore her husband and her sons did. She was always there to paint opponents of her husband in the worst way, and displayed the sort of "let them eat cake" arrogance to those they hurt. Residents of New rleans can still remember the arrogance which she showed them, as if they should be grateful. Heaven knows that Jeb will wait til te stink of Trump has abated, so he can try to prove to everyone that he was the "smart one"

Sorry Babs, I wish you no ill will, but if there is justice in the hereafter, you do have a bit to account for.

what if (Re: syria)

okay, as the media and governments to control the narrative have been proven to lie about anything, I realize all I have to offer speculation. However, I humbly offer everyone some food for disturbing thought.

So far the news narrative is that the Syrian attack was not as big as people thought it was going to be. Granted, I don't really see why that would've been a problem, but then again I am not wanting to do something that at the very best estimate will wind up being a repeat of Iraq. Note over in Syria, aside is talking is if the attack was much less than he expected.

Most people will think oh this is just bluster on both the part of Trump and the part of Assad. Heaven knows the two of them could go ahead and say that a bit of tinfoil is a silver mine. However, what is Putin in Trump deliberately did this as a smokescreen. Yes I know we're sailing into conspiracy theory waters, but we live in an age where what would have been absurd is now as hard a reality as a skyscraper.

Russia of course was to keep Syria because it needs a warm water port. The West needs to look like they're not given carte blanche to the use of chemical weapons, especially because they know that if they do, it will not be a matter of if a Western leader decides to go ahead and drop some chemical weapons on its people, but when. Of course do go ahead and tell folks of Ferguson that America has not crossed that line. so, we need something that can go ahead and make the two little babies that he has led around by a leash look like they can save face. Trump does a small bombing, Assad gets to look like the triumphant leader, and everyone goes about their business. A puppet show meant to abuse the media.

Of course, there is yet one more layer, Trump has been criticized for being too nice to Russia. There is this is scandal where he could possibly be a the very first president to be accused of working with a foreign power, the same one that is accused of rigging our election. the midterms are coming up, and many people are expecting the Republicans to lose the house, possibly even the Senate.

What if the reason why Trump acted like hhe was so tough with Putin is so that it will make charges of Russian collusion look less likely. You will just go ahead and say "look I have the Russians I might be going towards the, why would they help me with an election?" we could be looking at a real puppet show where Putin Asad and Trump basically are doing what pro wrestling is called a swerve, something to make the audience think that a bunch of people really hate each other and are really getting her went backstage feel be the ones sipping coffee together.

The only problem is that while Trump,, and the little Syrian dog go ahead and do all their bleeding for the camera, the citizens of said nations are going to be doing the real bleeding. We are nothing but fuel to these people folks, our blood is their gasoline nothing more.

Re: Pence, what do we do if trump is gone

One of the things people have said is that if trump goes, we get Mike Pence, who supposedly would be ten times worse because he is NOT an idiot.

If that is true, how should we prepare for it. I myself want his presidency crippled from the second it hatches.

Oh, and before you demand proof this idea is in the air:

Why The Simpsons' response to the Apu controversy was so heartbreaking: Essay

https://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/why-the-simpsons-response-to-the-apu-controversy-was-so-heartbreaking-essay/ar-AAvH1CC?ocid=spartandhp

Questioning the character of Apu against the inexhaustible tide of people on Twitter saying, “Shut up, it’s just a cartoon,” or “I have an Indian friend and he’s not offended by it!!!!” would be exactly the type of thing Lisa in her unfailing idealism would do.
And so The Simpsons‘ response to criticism is a cop-out in the worst way, a response of dig-in-your-heels defensiveness against an invisible threat with a spit in the face for good measure. Their stodginess is even more baffling when you consider that Kondabolu’s challenge came from a place of love; he is a fan of The Simpsons, and that’s why he wanted to reconcile what he saw as its most unsavory element, something that might have been socially acceptable a quarter of a century ago but needs to be readdressed in 2018.

We can argue whether the Simpson jumped the shark a while ago, but the fact is Lisa Simpson being used to hush Hindus is cheap. It is typical of people who will gladly take all the accolades, but when it comes to defending what made people tune in, will run and hide. Expect a lot of liberal characters being used as puppets to shut people up (Roseanne, I am also looking at you.)

I will see that and raise you.

It might start off with the Rich Schools getting all the good teachers and classes, but I assure you that is NOT what they will remain. Their rich parents, many of them fundamentalist Christians, do NOT want their children to think any more than they have to.

https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/jessie-golem/leaving-the-church_b_4816252.html

Christians that educated their children to debate the Heathen found that,lo and behold, some of their kids lost faith, which is why every inch of those "elite" schools on the Hill will be a cattle pen, a Brahman cattle pen, but still a pen. After all, not like these rich kids will actually need to MAKE wealth, just allow their employees to manipulate it for them.

Want Proof? Besty Devos could have bought her way into any school, she got a four year degree, thatw as not even an education degree, from a local Bible College. She knows she can act as stupid as she wants, and never have her stated goal of education thwarted, which is to "reach children for Christ."

I also say this as a student of Catholic schools where the rich kids were stupid, took pride in being stupid, and were praisde by clergy for being stupid, because those types filled the church coffer.

Thisis also why they polish a Ted Nugent, or

any artist that proclaims praise for them; they want to be able to say "we are the pones that can create culture, not our enemies!" Of course, this was a pattern long before America, as Hitler and Stalin were both failed artists, who took it out on successful ones. They also cultivated pet artists whose mission was to remake their art in the image of their leaders: Stalin had Maxim Gorky, a novelist that would help punish other novelists, and Hitler had Carl Orff, who would rewrite new versions of music that would replace Mendelssohn, a great composer, and a Jew.

What is worse is that Americans tend to interpret funding as a sign of virtue, which is why the authoritarians try very hard to be the only source of funding for art. Go ahead and watch a film called "the art of the steal" a film about a 20 billion dollar art collection where the wealthy went to disgusting lengths to determine ownership Note the (after of course taking it way from an Afro-American college.) Note Alice Walton's museum in Arkansas. Yes, the idea of showing art to an area that doe snot have it is noble, but she targeted art that was held by public institutions, making sure everyone that wanted to see "Rosie the Riveter" had to of course thank the rich old lady that killed someone while driving drunk:

https://mic.com/articles/79039/the-untold-story-of-alice-walton-s-dwi-incident#.molzTaGMf

Walton is notable for another reason: whatever her good intention may have been to bring art to her area, the whole mess became a very nasty mess that became propaganda for the authoritarians of all stripes. Of course, the Dixie folks made it a point to tweak those
Yankee elites, and that fed into the endless hymns to those good old humble southerners who were going to take over the country, including the culture. To be fair, the Yankee elites did not make anything resembling a good showing, as they threw in hayseed insults, and also were all too happy to let those public institutions get robbed, the same ones that they spent the rest of the year cutting funds from because they were offended that some artwork offended them.

https://alcalde.texasexes.org/2013/03/art-for-the-people/

The tragedy is, that art becomes the horse to pull golden carriages, while it should be our vehicle to new, better ways of thinking. That is why I would have a totally free internet, because it alone may be the way we get to see art. It is also why, to be fair, I laughed at artists crying poverty over napster; If you were really concerned about the poor artist trying to make it, make labels, it is what hip hop did. Now, the Metallicas were just happy that they got THEIR slice of the authoritarians gold, anf could then sing the one tune every authoritarian wants the lower class to sing "I'm allright jack, keep your hands of my stack."
