Look, I am not going to lie. John McCain is still the man I was angry at for being a member of the "keating five." He is till the man that wanted to put Sarah palin a heartbeat from the presidency, who let yahoos trash Obama, and who indeed lured some of the PumA dems into being useful idiots, until,l Hillary had to scream "no way, no how, No Mcain." I have no desire to pour libations.
So why am I also saddened at the way some democrats want to grave dance?
No, it has nothing to do with Vietnam, let that corpse rot, especially as Vietnam seems as scared of China as we are.
NO, it has to do with his vote to save Obamacare.
Look, as much as we can talk about Politics, the main point is to have someone vote our way when we need them to. Democrats to the left of Dennis Kucinich and the right of Joe Manchin have, at many times, been the ones that did NOT Vote for what we needed, and they came to us with excuses that were as thick and smelly as a tower of Bull Manure. Yet, whenever they get attcked, we say "we have to rptoect them, we need them, their vote may count someday."
Well a certain man dying of brain cancer literallly got off hos hos[pital bed and made a vote that trump still rails about.

I can hate his mistakes, which even he admits he made, but I can also say he had enough of a core to vote when it counted, and because of that, while I will not lionize him, I will not demonize him either.
let me put it this way
Nixon was almost impeached because he did a crime. To be fair to him, he founded the EPA, something that I am not entirely sure modern democrats would support if done today, and he opened up dialogue with China. Yet, he was impached
Clinton had the sort of economy you droll over, and he was impeached because he was foolish enough to wag his finger and say "I did not have sex with that woman" while knowing Monica was ready to get her 15 minutes of fame. It also helped that Ken "Baylor wmen got raped on my watch" Starr and Brett "Trump icked me because I will save his ass" Kavanuagh helped.
