Cheech Marin opens "The Cheech" Museum for Chicano Art & Culture...

...in the city of Riverside CA.

Last Friday (June 17 2022) "The Cheech" had its invitation only grand opening*, which included an auction to raise money for - "The Cheech."

As some of you may know, I am a long-time collector of Germs' art, with more individual paintings / limited editions / books / lamps / and other objects than anyone.

That said, Germs is in the permanent collection of the newly opened Cheech Museum of Chicano Art & Culture, and will be having a solo show at some time in the future.

Germs also did the label art for Cheech's Mezcal shown in the top photo, center - with a close up below.

These signed bottles by Germs and the other two artists (don't know their names), were apparently auctioned off for like $2100 for the lot of all three.

The Germs-labeled mezcal is still in production, not yet available to the unwashed masses.

When it's available, I expect it to be be difficult to find at your local liquor outlet.

I have been promised a bottle, we'll see what happens!

Last is a shot of the One-Of-A-Kind-In-The-Entire-Universe Mattel Hotwheels
® Germs 1964 Chevy Impala Lowrider with Germs Graphics, which are kinda hard to see in this picture.

That is - THE ONLY ONE - that will ever be made by Mattel Hotwheels
®, as it will eventually be auctioned (for The Cheech Museum) for an estimated $15,000.

*I was not invited!!

Portrait of Keith Moon I got from a guy on ebay 19 years ago...

...he called himself "WalterX" and had a goal of selling 500 original art paintings very quickly.

They were very cheap.

IIRC, I paid less than $25 for this piece.

I just found it again, and I really like it.

I found this piece in a drawer with other obscure/weird art and stuff, including my Andy Warhol Soupcan Autograph from 1974, on my first day of Art School.

But that's another story.

Perfect condition 19 y.o. acrylic on a heavy watercolor type of paper, 9" width x 12" height.

And I swear I did not post this because there is an active eclipse of the Moon.

Framed in a $27 Michael's readymade frame.

It's still 4/20 where I am, but I'm a little late for the other "time zones"...

...as if, if you're not in my "time zone," we're, like, different, or, like, opposed to each other, man.

Ya know?

But it's not like that man, OK?

Now, stop BOGARTing that joint, dood.

And All Hail The Great Jack Herer!

I used to hang out with Jack in Pasadena right at the time he was finalizing The Emperor Wears No Clothes.
