Are_grits_groceries's JournalPoliticians’ Deleted Tweets Are No Longer Safe Thanks To Politwoops
The Internet was never a private place, particularly not for politicians but now they cant even delete their tweets. Its kind of sad really and one could feel bad for them, if this whole thing didnt promise to be entirely hilarious.
Sure, anyone can delete a tweet, its not like politicians delete key wont work anymore. And yes, anyone who moves fast enough can grab a screenshot before they get the tweet deleted thats nothing new. But the folks at Sunlight Foundation just created a handy little script that grabs only those tweets that politicians delete and posts them. Tee hee.
<snip>
Sunlight Foundations mission is to make government transparent and responsible by working to change the relationship between citizens and their government with Internet technology. Well, Politwoop certainly does that! It brings transparency to a whole new level.

Sure, we all tweet things we dont mean to share, but now politicians have no way to hide them. Discover tweets that your politicians shared and then promptly deleted. And it not only lists the deleted tweets, it tells you when the tweet was deleted and how long the tweet was up before it was deleted.

Wondrous places on the interwebs.
Since there apparently is a 'kill list' in the WH
for those people deemed enemies of the state even if they are American citizens, I hope it truly takes into account those who really brought down this country this far.
The least you can do is buzz Jamie Dimon and all those other masters of the universe with a drone or two. They still don't have a clue.
Vanderbilt Football Coach Will Not Hire Assistants Until He’s Seen What Their Wives Look Like
Ah, Vanderbilt. A refined, enlightened place. "The Harvard of the South," it's called. So it's not without reason that its football coach, James Franklin, seems like the Larry Summers of the South:
Franklin, who said all of this on Clay Travis's 104.5 The Zone radio show, a Vanderbilt- and defining-oneself-through-one's-wife's-attractiveness-friendly zone, credits Moneyball with his inspiration. He said he made his entire staff watch the movie. Presumably they noticed that the film had that pearl of wisdom coming from the geezer strawman scouts whom Brad Pitt wisely ignores. Oh well.
All that said, Franklin's strategy would have been plenty effective before Betty Friedan rolled around in the early 60s. Marriage used to be all about wooing young targets to join an unequal partnership in which they'd wind up oppressed and exploited. Now that's just college football.

Dear Coach Franklin,
You are a Maroon!
Do you expect all your recruits to look like 'Chippendales?' Do you vet the crowd and make those you deem unworthy wear paper bags over their heads?
I could care less what somebody's partner looks like. I want them to be good coaches AND both of them to be good role models(Talking to you Arkansas).
I guess on the upside, if the cheerleaders flee, you can make the wives come on down.
You really need to replace that 1955 pin-up calendar on your wall.
Grits
PS After looking at your picture, I am going to throw a stone out of my glass house. Judging by what I see, you will not be going bowling any time soon.
In Milwaukee Post, Cardinal Dolan Authorized Paying Abusers
Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan of New York authorized payments of as much as $20,000 to sexually abusive priests as an incentive for them to agree to dismissal from the priesthood when he was the archbishop of Milwaukee.
Questioned at the time about the news that one particularly notorious pedophile cleric had been given a payoff to leave the priesthood, Cardinal Dolan, then the archbishop, responded that such an inference was false, preposterous and unjust.
But a document unearthed during bankruptcy proceedings for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and made public by victims advocates reveals that the archdiocese did make such payments to multiple accused priests to encourage them to seek dismissal, thereby allowing the church to remove them from the payroll.
A spokesman for the archdiocese confirmed on Wednesday that payments of as much as $20,000 were made to a handful of accused priests as a motivation not to contest being defrocked. The process, known as laicization, is a formal church juridical procedure that requires Vatican approval, and can take far longer if the priest objects.

Those in charge have no morals, ethics, Christian values or any other desirable characteristics.
They fight to deny a penny to the abused, but then do this?
Abusive priests should be defrocked and put in the stocks at the least!
More SC news: Sheriff candidate charged in kidnap attempt on retired judge
rlowe@thestate.com The race for sheriff in Oconee County took a bizarre turn Wednesday with the arrest of Republican candidate James Bartee for trying to hire someone to kidnap a retired S.C. circuit judge. Bartee is one of four candidates competing June 12 to be the Republican nominee in November for Oconee County sheriff.
The former Secret Service agents qualification for the office was challenged by retired S.C. Circuit Judge James C. Williams Jr. Williams, who is supporting another candidate, had sued to get Bartee off the ballot, arguing Bartee is not a certified law enforcement officer under S.C. law and therefore can't run for sheriff. A court hearing was to have been held Wednesday on the case in Anderson. The hearing was under way when Bartee was arrested by State Law Enforcement Division agents at the courthouse, according to The Independent Mail of Anderson.
Bartee was charged with solicitation to commit a felony. According to the arrest warrant, Bartee tried to encourage and solicit an individual to kidnap Williams. He allegedly gave that individual money to purchase items needed in the kidnapping. SLED said evidence includes audio of the solicitation.

Why read the funnies when the news will do?
Yeehaw! House ethics panel votes to reopen probe of SC governor Nikki Haley
The House Ethics Committee voted unanimously Wednesday to reopen its inquiry into whether Gov. Nikki Haley illegally lobbied while a S.C. House member, exploiting her public office for her personal gain and to benefit her employers.
The committee will hear testimony from witnesses it selects who will be required to give testify under oath, said state Rep. Roland Smith, R-Aiken, chairman of the House Ethics Committee.
No date was set for that testimony. However, a list of possible witnesses could come as early as next week, Smith added.
<snip>
Those lingering questions include whether Haley was working for Lexington Medical Center, which was seeking legislative approval to expand, or its foundation, and whether Haleys solicitation of donations for the foundation from lobbyists and businesses with business before the state was lobbying.
State Rep. Laurie Funderburk, D-Kershaw, the committees only Democrat, questioned Wednesday how independent the hospital foundation is, since it is overseen by the hospitals board.

There has to be something to this because Queen Nikki has used every nasty trick she knows to shut it down. She has threatened legislators with exposing their dirty laundry. If she does, there will be mutually assured destruction. Suits me if the lot of them blow up.
She made the mistake of pissing the old boys off, and they will get her back. This may be the start of it.
I would normally be pissed that they aren't passing bills. That suits me because the less they do, the less harm they cause.
The items high on their agendas are voter ID laws, private school money funneling(school choice), immigration fascism, some more restrictive abortion reforms, and gawd knows what else.
If the Dems get off their asses, they actually might make some headway in the elections. They had a good candidate for governor, but the weird internal state politics(redundant) helped elect her. I hope he runs again.
Of course Alvin Greene is still out there. He tweeted these 2 insightful messages:

I think he is running against DeMinted or maybe 'dump truck.'
Inscrutable he is.
So our state motto still says it all: "SNAFU et FUBAR."

Where in the world did you get that he is a Republican? If you want to bash someone, why dont you try Americas first black racist, race-baiting dictator who vacations, golfs, and has private concerts while he advocates taking care of illegal aliens, anchor babies, campaign contributors, and social program frauds and abusers.

Melvin, Honey, are you lost or drunk? This here aint that there Free Republic website.
Why do you come here just to get yourself all riled up? Does that pass for foreplay at your house?
Melvin, anger and ignorance are a troublesome pair and the chemical reaction you cause by mixing them makes you look pretty damn silly.
I know hes a Republican because (a) I looked up his voting record, and (2) I looked up his campaign website, and (3) just for good measure I checked the Montgomery County elections office to see the ballot he ran under two years ago. These things are public information. They are free. Get you some. For example, I learned that there is no one registered to vote in Texas by the name of Melvin Painter and that youre logging on from a computer in California, probably Fresno. And that this aint gonna be the first website youve been banned from.
Melvin, I take it that you dont like our President. Did you happen to notice that the first three words out of your mouth about him were (1) black, (2) racist, and (3) just in case we werent getting your point here, race again. We get it, Melvin. We get it. You really dont have to say it three times.
I know how proud you must be that Ronald Regan did not golf, take vacations, have private concerts in the White House, or allow half of Hollywood to stay at the White House. Whoa, wait. Never mind.
Have a great weekend
. someplace else.
Love and Fried Okra,

P.S. Yall before I even got an answer written to poor Melvin, he posted two more comments on this topic. Yep, that Melvin is all for punishing hard working American women.

Museum Of Endangered Sounds (What a hoot!)
http://mrgory.info/sm/This site is archiving the electronic sounds of the past, and its awesome
Remember when Louis CK was ranting about how everythings awesome and nobodys happy? If youre one of the people who can relate to how far weve come along in the past decade or two, youre going to love the Museum of Endangered Sounds.
Created by Brendan Chilcutt, the site archives a few sounds that might have you nostalgically playing them over and over again. Theres everything from the sound of dialing a rotary telephone to the sound of a floppy drive chugging away.
If nothing else, listening to the sound of a screeching modem kicking into high gear will make you eternally grateful for your 24 hour broadband connection, and not having to argue about getting off the Internet so your mother can make a phone call.
At the moment, theres only 15 sounds, which weve been obsessively listening to for the past half an hour, so Brendan, can we please have some more?

That was fun!
