Nervous Nancy Pelosi is doing everything possible to destroy the Republican Party. Our Polls show that it is going to be just the opposite. The Do Nothing Dems will lose many seats in 2020. They have a Death Wish, led by a corrupt politician, Adam Schiff!

NSC official's testimony appears to contradict Rick Perry Ukraine claims

Testimony from a senior White House official on Tuesday appeared to contradict Energy Secretary Rick Perry's ardent denials that he ever heard former Vice President Joe Biden or his son Hunter discussed in relation to U.S. requests that Ukraine investigate corruption.
In his opening statement, Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a National Security Council official overseeing Ukraine policy, told House impeachment investigators that he objected to EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland's comments in a July 10 White House briefing attended by Perry requesting that Ukrainian officials investigate the 2016 U.S. election, the Bidens and the Ukrainian energy company Burisma that had employed Hunter Biden.
I stated to Amb. Sondland that his statements were inappropriate, that the request to investigate Biden and his son had nothing to do with national security, and that such investigations were not something the [National Security Council] was going to get involved in or push, Vindman's statement said.
Vindman said in his remarks that after he raised his objections, Fiona Hill, who was a Trump adviser on Russia at the time, entered the room and told Sondland his statements were inappropriate.
According to NBC News, Hill told House investigators that she entered the room as Perry was leaving. That account was confirmed to POLITICO.
That timeline would put Perry in the meeting when Vindman raised his objections about Sondland's request that Ukrainian officials investigate the Bidens which Perry has repeatedly denied.
"Not once, as God is my witness, not once was a Biden name not the former vice president, not his son ever mentioned," Perry told the CBN News on Oct. 7. He repeated those denials in a Fox News radio interview last week.

The fundamentally un-American attacks on Alexander Vindman

A documentary crew working for Ken Burns was exploring New York in the early 1980s, working on a feature about the Statue of Liberty as part of Burnss America series. Sitting on a bench near Brighton Beach, they found an elderly woman sitting with two twin boys, then about 10 years old.
They'd come from Russia, from Kyiv, the twins told the camera, their explanations overlapping. Our mother died, so we went to Italy, one added, and then we came here."
In the final, produced version of the film, titled, The Statue of Liberty, the twins kick off a section of interviews with other immigrants to the U.S.: a woman from Austria, a couple from Italy, a man from Cuba who worked at Yankee Stadium. The throughline is obvious, even without historian David McCulloughs introduction to the segment.
To me the Statue of Liberty is like the light that's left on back home, he said. Being at the statue, he said, made you feel something I think much more than just being an American. You feel the importance of being human. And you feel a kind of fraternal bondage with everybody who has come here."
Thats when the film transitions to the twins, identified as having come from the Soviet Union at that point, of course, the fiercest international rival to the United States.
Above that identifier is the twins' family name: The Vindmans.

Asshole

New York (CNN Business)The slow death of the American coal industry has forced Murray Energy, the largest private coal miner in the United States, to file for bankruptcy protection Tuesday.
Murray Energy's bankruptcy has been telegraphed for years. It recently failed to make payments to lenders, and the company entered into a forbearance agreement that bought it time to negotiate a restructuring. But that grace period came and went, and Murray Energy was unable to pay its bills. S&P Global Ratings downgraded the company's credit rating to "default" earlier this month.
The coal company formed a restructuring agreement with some of its lenders, representing about 60% of Murray's $1.7 billion in liabilities. The company announced Tuesday it has received $350 million in credit to keep its business operational through bankruptcy.
Robert Murray, the self-proclaimed king of the coal industry, has been replaced as CEO. Murray Energy announced Tuesday that former Chief Financial Officer Robert Moore will take over as the company's new chief executive. Robert Murray will remain as the company's chairman.
"Although a bankruptcy filing is not an easy decision, it became necessary to access liquidity and best position Murray Energy and its affiliates for the future of our employees and customers and our long term success," said Robert Murray in a statement.
The bankruptcy underscores the enormous pressure facing coal miners. A string of coal companies have already filed for bankruptcy, but Murray Energy is among the most powerful and well-connected firms in the industry. Murray Energy and its subsidiaries have 7,000 employees and operate 17 active mines in Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Utah, and West Virginia.
President Donald Trump's election in 2016 had raised hopes in the coal industry for a revival. The president moved swiftly to slash environmental regulations and even installed a former coal lobbyist to lead the US Environmental Protection Agency. But the deregulatory push has been overwhelmed by market forces. Coal just can't compete with cheap natural gas and the plunging cost of solar, wind and other forms of renewable energy.
