She Was Wrapped in Plastic and Dumped in the Woods Nearly 30 Years Ago. Now We Know Her Name.

For nearly 30 years, the identity of a woman found wrapped in plastic in the woods of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, stumped investigators. They knew her solely as “Unknown Jane Doe,” a woman with brown hair, likely between the ages of 35 and 45 years old, and no taller than 5-foot-2.

But this week, detectives made a major breakthrough, identifying her as Merrybeth Hodgkinson, a 31-year-old exotic dancer who vanished after visiting with family in Warminster, Pennsylvania in 1992.

When we exhumed her body, there was an unknown grave marker with the name Jane Doe,” Bensalem detective Chris McMullin said announcing the discovery Tuesday. More than 50 missing women were considered and ultimately deemed not a match over the course of the lengthy investigation.

“Now when she’s returned to her family, they can put Merrybeth Hodgkinson on it,” he said.

Ethan Crumbley's parents claim 'angry' prosecutor is using their case to 'send a message to gun owne

The parents of Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley are attacking Oxford (Oakland) County Prosecutor Karen McDonald for allegedly filing "inappropriate" charges against them.

In a motion seeking to lower their bonds filed Wednesday, defense attorneys for Jennifer and James Crumbley wrote: "It is clear from the media appearances by Ms. McDonald that this case is one she takes very personally, was filed out of anger and filed in an effort to send a message to gun owners."

Jennifer and James Crumbley are each charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter after their 15-year-old son killed four people and injured seven others during a shooting at Oxford High School on Nov. 30. The Crumbleys, who were arrested a Detroit art studio following a manhunt on Dec. 4, are seeking to have their bonds lowered from $500,000 to $100,000.

Prosecutors allege the Crumbleys purchased the gun used in the shooting as an early Christmas present for their son, and failed to properly secure it in their home. However, the Crumbleys' attorneys argued in their bond motion that the gun was "in a locked and hidden location," according to the Detroit Free Press.

Sally Ann Howes, 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' Star, Dies at 91

Sally Ann Howes, who began her acting career as a child and was best known for starring in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” opposite Dick Van Dyke, died on Dec. 19. She was 91.

Her death was confirmed by her nephew, Toby Howes, who tweeted: “I can also confirm the passing of my beloved Aunty Sally Ann Howes who died peacefully in her sleep yesterday. My brother & I thought Sally Ann might hold on until the Christmas screening of ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ as this would have greatly appealed to her mischievous side.”

“Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” is often broadcast on Christmas Day in the U.K.

In a career that spanned five decades, Howes racked up 40 film and television credits, having spent the latter half of her career focusing on the theater, including a part in Stephen Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music” at the New York City Opera in 1990.

Born in London to actors Bobby Howes and Patricia Malone, Howes spent much of her childhood at the family’s home in Hertfordshire when London was evacuated during World War II.
