Juror B37 Says She'd Be Fine With Zimmerman in Her Neighborhood Watch

Juror B37 — the one who hates the media, called Trayvon "a boy of color", and already has a high-powered literary agent — just sat down with Anderson Cooper to answer questions about the trial. It's... well, what you would expect.

She says some pretty upsetting stuff, much of it about Rachel Jeantel not being a credible witness, and referring to Trayvon and Rachel as "these people" and "their way of life". Uh, did you mean teenagers? Say what you mean, woman.

She also says things like "George said" and "George believed" and "George's rendition..." — which is interesting, considering he never testified. Further insight into the prosecution's effort — which is looking weaker and weaker the more we learn.

"I think he just didn't know when to stop. He was frustrated and things just got out of hand," she says of Zimmerman. I'm no legal eagle, but isn't that manslaughter? And perhaps the most telling of all is when she says she'd be comfortable with Zimmerman on her neighborhood watch...now. She followed that up with an "um, well, if he didn't go too far," to which Anderson Cooper asked, "Too far?" and she responded, "Well, I think he's learned his lesson."

Bachmann urges ‘spanking’ for Obama to take away his ‘magic wand’

resident Barack Obama (D) may throw the 2014 House races to his Democratic allies by producing a “magic wand” that grants non-citizens the right to vote in U.S. elections, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) said in a video published Monday.

“It’s my prediction that the House Republicans could put themselves in a position where they could actually lose the gavel in 2014,” she said in footage published by the right-wing conspiracy website WorldNetDaily. “Because I think the president, even by executive order, could again wave his magic wand before 2014. And he’d say, ‘Now all of the new legal Americans are going to have voting rights.’ Why do I say that? He did it in 2012. Do you remember?”

Despite the congresswoman’s allegations, the president actually announced last June that he’d issued an executive order placing undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children by no fault of their own as the lowest priority for deportation — a clear exercise of executive power....

She added that the president’s “magic wand” is so troublesome that someone needs to give him “a spanking” and “take it out of his hand.”

Juror B37 sounds like a surefire teabagger.

She added that his killing was 'an unfortunate incident that happened' and said she believed there were riots in Sanford, Florida after the killing - which is not the case.

She was also vocal about her hate of the media - saying she refused to read newspapers as they were skewed.

Does this constitute workplace retaliation for jury duty?

A coworker of mine was out for jury duty today, which we all know is a legal obligation. However, last week, our boss warned her that all of her work better be done. So, to avoid getting written up, she has to work late into Friday night to get everything done. Does this constitute retaliation?

At least California convicted Johannes Mehserle.

I took a lot of flack a few years ago when I stood up and said that, while Johannes I never believed he intended to pull out his 9mm pistol to kill Oscar Grant on that terrible night at the Fruitvale BART station, he was at least criminally negligent that we was guilty of, and was convicted of manslaughter. He was held accountable. The People of the State of California did its job.Mehserle will never be a cop. He will never be allowed to own a firearm, In Florida, there was even less grey area and the State of Florida not only failed to do its job, Zimmerman is going to get his gun back and is likely going to be a celebrity of the Right Wing. For all the smack talk about Califorina, I feel much better living here than I would in the "Sunshine State".

Woman who attacked blues singer over Martin doesn't sound like she's well

HAYWARD -- A woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly jumping on stage at a music festival and attacking a legendary musician after he dedicated a song to Trayvon Martin, according to police and eyewitnesses.

The woman, who police identified as 43-year-old Dinalynn Andrews Potter of Barstow, apparently yelled, "it's all your fault" before shoving 73-year-old Lester Chambers, his family said Sunday.

"She had a crazed look in her eye," said Kurt Kangas, a friend of Chambers who ran to his aid. "I saw the devil there."

Chambers was performing at the Hayward Russell City Blues Festival downtown when around 5:15 p.m. he dedicated Curtis Mayfield's hit "People Get Ready" to Martin, the 17-year-old shot and killed by George Zimmerman.

Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas heading to New Hampshire

BOSTON (AP) — Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas is heading to New Hampshire as part of a summer swing through early voting states on the presidential calendar.

The freshman senator, a tea party favorite thought to be weighing a 2016 presidential bid, is scheduled to headline an Aug. 23 fundraiser for the New Hampshire GOP.

The trip represents Cruz's first visit to New Hampshire, which is expected to host the nation's first presidential primary. He has already visited South Carolina and has summer stops planned for Iowa and Florida.

The 42-year-old senator began serving his first Senate term in January.

Another Ohio Republican stands up for the Freedom to Marry.

Last Monday, another prominent Ohio Republican, former attorney general and state auditor Jim Petro jumped feet-first into the FreedomOhio petition effort, saying he’s “all for it” and will be active in the campaign to get the constitutional amendment on the ballot and get it passed.

Petro, who opposed same-sex marriage in his 2006 run for the GOP gubernatorial nomination, changed his position last year after his daughter legally married a woman in Massachusetts, one of 13 states where such marriages are legal.

Petro’s leap from a supporter of same-sex marriage to an active participant in the effort to overturn Ohio’s ban came a few months after Ohio’s junior senator, Republican Rob Portman, said publicly that his son Will is gay and that his son and others who wish to do so should have the right to marry persons of the same sex.

Unlike Petro, Portman didn’t jump into the petition campaign, but he did say that, if the issue reaches the ballot, “people will know where I stand.”

Congressman Blames Obama For Zimmerman Having To Stand Trial For Killing Trayvon Martin

Congressman Steve King (R-IA) suggested Sunday that George Zimmerman should never have even had to stand trial for killing Trayvon Martin, blaming President Obama and his Department of Justice for the case.

On Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace claimed that though “local authorities originally decided not to prosecute,” Florida prosecutors decided to after civil rights groups and “even the president stepped into the case.” King furthered this misleading claim and then lamented that Zimmerman even had to stand trial for Martin’s death.

WALLACE: Congressman King, let me start with you. Should George Zimmerman ever have been prosecuted?

KING: From what i have seen of the evidence, I would say no. My sympathy goes out also to the Martin family and the Zimmerman family for this ordeal that they’ve been through. The evidence didn’t support prosecution and the Justice Department engaged in this, the President engaged in this and turned it into a political issue that should have been handled exclusively with law and order. I regret that this all happened. I’m sorry that it was turned into a race issue by the media. Otherwise, it would have been tried or not tried depending on the laws that were there. This is unfortunate.
