Republican candidates across the country are wooing the group for support for the 2026 midterm elections and other political efforts, the Wall Street Journal reports.
In Georgia, gubernatorial candidates have asked the group to play a role in that race, according to people familiar with the outreach. In other 2026 battleground states, including Arizona, Senate candidates have also reached out to the group. The first test for Musks might comes in Wisconsin, where a state Supreme Court race has already drawn big spending from the billionaires group.

Lawmakers consider bill to move Montana municipal elections to even years
HELENA Later this year, cities and towns across Montana will be holding elections for mayors and other local officials. However, a bill currently making its way through the Montana Legislature could significantly change how those elections will run after 2025.
House Bill 221, sponsored by Rep. Lukas Schubert, R-Kalispell, would move municipal elections from odd-numbered years to even-numbered years putting them on the same schedule with federal and state elections. The House passed the bill 57-42, with almost all Republicans in support and almost all Democrats in opposition. It had its first hearing in a Senate committee this week.
Schubert said this move would get more people participating in local elections.
I think its just a commonsense measure, he said.

Polls moved in 2020 for COVID safety now return to Civic Center
oley, Ala. (OBA) Foley voters will once again cast their ballots at the Civic Center for the 2025 municipal elections, returning to the location after polling stations were moved in 2020.
The municipal elections in Foley, along with most of Alabama, are scheduled for August 26, 2025. If a runoff is required for any race, it will take place on September 23, 2025.
On Monday, March 17, the Foley City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance to designate the Civic Center as the official polling place for the upcoming elections. A second reading and final vote on the ordinance will take place at a future council meeting.
During the last city election in 2020, the council moved the polling station to the Foley Event Center. The larger location in the Event Center allowed more space for social distancing during the COVID-19 outbreak at that time.

Trump Jumps Into a Major Wisconsin Court Race With an Endorsement
After weeks of appeals from Wisconsin Republicans, President Trump on Friday night endorsed Brad Schimel, the conservative candidate in a hard-fought contest that will decide control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
All Voters who believe in Common Sense should GET OUT TO VOTE EARLY for Brad Schimel, Mr. Trump posted on his social media site. By turning out and VOTING EARLY, you will be helping to Uphold the Rule of Law, Protect our Incredible Police, Secure our Beloved Constitution, Safeguard our Inalienable Rights, and PRESERVE LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.
The endorsement of Judge Schimel was hardly surprising, but Wisconsin Republicans had eagerly awaited Mr. Trumps intervention, hoping for a burst of conservative energy in their bid to upend the State Supreme Courts 4-to-3 liberal majority.
Judge Schimel, a Waukesha County judge, has long been a Trump loyalist, repeatedly defending the president in public and dressing as him for Halloween last fall. Last weekend, Judge Schimel posed for a photo in front of a towering inflatable representation of Mr. Trump at a Republican Party dinner in Wisconsin.

Workers Say They Were Pressured by Republicans to Pay for N.Y.C. Election Jobs
When a Republican employee of the New York City Board of Elections told a woman that if she paid $150, she could have a job working at the polls during local elections, the woman hesitated but eventually agreed.
Unable to afford the fee on her own, she said she went to her husband, who gave her the money, even though he felt uneasy about the deal.
The small payment, she said, seemed worth it for the chance to earn a few thousand dollars for election work.
Poll workers in the Bronx say her experience was not unusual and that it has been going on for years.
The woman is among several election workers who say that Board of Elections staff members and officials of the Bronx Republican Party inappropriately pressured them into paying for jobs or that they saw their peers similarly pressured. Three people who paid for their positions spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of losing their jobs.
