Anthony Scaramucci is having a weird couple of weeks. The guy became an instant phenomenon after being named President Donald Trumps new White House Director of Communications. The guy came in, his very presence leading to the resignations of Sean Spicer and Reince Priebus. Then just like that, he was gone, booted from the position, all amidst reports of a pending divorce. As if all that wasnt enough, Harvard Law School apparently thinks hes dead.
Yup, Scaramuccis alma mater that hes oh so proud of killed him off in their latest alumni directory, which went out to grads last week. In an apparent misprint, his name had an asterisk next to it, which is used for when an alum was reported to be dead since the last directory came out in 2011. While his career in politics may be DOA, Scaramucci himself is still very much alive.
In a statement to The Washington Post, a spokeswoman for HLS acknowledged the unfortunate mistake Regrettably, there is an error in the Harvard Law School alumni directory in the listing for Anthony Scaramucci, she said. We offer our sincere apologies to Mr. Scaramucci. The error will be corrected in subsequent editions.
This week, a new set of state polls from Gallup showed President Donald Trumps job approval numbers are very uneven and hold some deep challenges, but a deeper look at the numbers reveals clues about potential shifts in the electorate.
On the most basic level the Gallup data, based on daily tracking polls from Jan. 20 through June 30, show Trumps job approval is underwater (with higher disapprove than approve numbers) in 31 of the 50 states. His approval number is only 50 percent or higher in 17 states.
But going deeper than Trumps broad struggles, the numbers in specific states show how the presidents first six months seem to have locked down support in some places and perhaps changed the landscape in others.
Organizers associated with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee are launching a new partnership with Swing Left, an organization focused on flipping House seats, to expand the committees voter outreach in key districts, according to emails obtained by Roll Call.
Organizers on the ground in competitive House districts sent out emails to Friday encouraging supporters to attend a Summer Canvass on Saturday to talk to voters. The organizers, who are in the districts early as part of the committees March into 18 effort, are encouraging people to volunteer to knock on doors and talk to voters about the 2018 election.
Volunteers can make or break an election, which is why its so important that we hit the ground running into 2018, the organizers wrote in emails the emails.
The organizers wrote that the DCCC was starting a new partnership with Swing Left, a political action committee that connects volunteers with nearby swing districts with the goal of helping Democrats take back the House.
The groups website notes they have more than 300,000 volunteers have signed up since the site went live the day before President Donald Trumps inauguration in January.
According to a source familiar with the canvassing events, the Democratic organizers and Swing Left are teaming up in nearly all of the 20 March into 18" districts. They will be reaching out to their separate networks to host combined canvassing and organizing events throughout the election cycle.
My dad hates MeidCARE because the coverage is so spotty that he's paying $500/month for a supplemental private plan. Is MedicAIDE more comprehensive? If not, how much do we need to scap both and build from scratch? Thanks.
Deidre Scaramucci, 38, fed up with her three-year marriage to the new White House communication director, filed divorce papers on July 6 in Nassau County Supreme Court.
On Monday, while Anthony was in West Virginia with President Trump for the Boy Scouts Jamboree, Deidre gave birth to the couples baby boy James. As of Friday evening, a full four days after delivery, her 53-year-old husband had yet to meet his newborn son, though an associate close to Anthony said he visited the child late that night.
When James was born, he sent her a text saying, Congratulations, Ill pray for our child, said a source close to the situation.
Anthonys associate said, There was discussion between him, her and the divorce attorneys about Anthony going to the hospital and unfortunately the delivery was sudden.
Deidres anger with her husband was a factor.
Theres been a lot of lies, said the source.
Senate Republicans party-line attempts to repeal Obamacare arent dead just yet.
Some congressional Republicans and President Donald Trump arent giving up on their effort to roll back the health care law and are trying to write legislation that could get 50 Republican votes, according to multiple administration and Capitol Hill sources.
Trump met with three Republican senators on Friday about a proposal from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). to block grant federal health care funding to the states and keep much of Obamacares tax regime. White House officials also met with House Freedom Caucus chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.), according to two sources familiar with the meeting.
Trump seemed optimistic about moving forward on the bill on Friday after the shocking setback this week appeared to cripple his legislative agenda, according to a White House official. Yet several senior Republican Senate aides and allies of GOP leaders cautioned against any feelings of momentum coming from the White House on Saturday, particularly after Trump again instructed Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to change the Senate rules to a simple majority and gut the legislative filibuster.
McConnell has resisted such a suggestion publicly and has been pushing back against Trump privately, according to people familiar with their interactions. One person close to McConnell said Trump has asked McConnell personally to change the rules but said no.
President Donald Trump didnt just regularly torture and demean former White House press secretary Sean Spicer he did the same to his former chief of staff, Reince Priebus, The Washington Post reports.
At one point, during a meeting in the Oval Office, a fly began buzzing overhead, distracting the president, reports The Post. As the fly continued to circle, Trump summoned his chief of staff and tasked him with killing the insect, according to someone familiar with the incident.
The demeaning treatment played a role in Priebus leaving.
White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci follows gay porn star Blake Mitchell on Twitter.
Mitchell noticed the follow yesterday. His response? Confusion like us.
Wait what? Mitchell tweeted out with a screenshot/receipt of the follow.
Given that Scaramucci follows nearly 168,000 people, his following a gay porn star could of course be an accidental follow. But, Scaramucci doesnt follow any other gay porn stars (a check of 20 popular porn star names, including several other Helix models, all came back with nope on the audit list) or adult entertainment accounts. So, maybe Scaramucci simply enjoys a good Blake Mitchell selfie just as much as everyone else does?
