I now wonder about the integrity, honesty, and independence of Mueller. I will go to my grave believing that the fix was in from the beginning.

Judge Ellis just underscored that if you’re in the Washington Caucasian Boy’s Club you can get away with most anything.
His behavior during the trial was inexcusable. We can be glad that he is so old and will be leaving the bench soon.
We have to be horrified that our federal judiciary is being fillled with very young, very partisan hacks that will be on the bench ensuring that the ruling class continues to escape justice for decades...

Another confirmation of a two-tiered system of justice
As if we needed any reminders--this case has given us yet another reminder that our system of justice simply doesn't function the way it must.
I am reminded of the contempt I felt when not a single executive from any financial firm even had charges leveled against them during the financial meltdown of 2008. When I was a child lynchings went unpunished. Then Nixon walked away in disgrace but he didn't serve a moment in jail. Now something that looks much like treason has been almost forgiven. An unseemly mercy was shown someone that offered up no remorse, but begged the judge for undeserved mercy. And received it.
The judiciary has been captured by a right wing that is ultimately anti-democratic, profoundly racist and xenophobic, and completely corrupt. The Constitution is a rag to be ignored unless they can twist it to their ends. The 1st and 2nd amendments have been weaponized. Lifetime judicial appointments and no holds barred gerrymandering allowed a slow motion capture of the federal judiciary. It is irreversible.
The Republican minority have found every weakness in our system and have ruthlessly exploited them. The system is now fully compromised and I'm not sure it can be fixed. Trump should have already been on his way to impeachment in the House and conviction in the Senate. In fact, he should be under criminal indictment and should be in prison. This Justice department conceit that a President cannot be criminally charged means that there is at least one person that is immune from the law. If there is one there is many.
A two tiered system of justice is no system of justice. The judiciary is being filled with partisan zealots that will defend this utterly corrupt system. The only way to clean it up is to win both Houses and the Presidency and reverse everything done during Trump's illegal, illegitimate regime. And really what chance is there of that?

Dershowitz is so dirty
This kind of behavior makes me think that what I've read about him indulging himself at Epstein's orgies of sexual predation on underage girls is true. He's got a dog in this hunt. I'd like to think that now that this is not staying in the box Epstein's lawyers worked so hard to keep it in--that no judge would agree. I'll wait and see.
Every time I hear Dershowitz he sounds as unhinged as Guliani--he appears to be panicked and desperate. I think there are a whole lot of lawyers that have done the bidding of these sociopathic wealthy men that are seeing the walls starting to crumble. Trump is going to take everyone down before this is over.
Don't forget that Trump was sued by one of the girls (underage at the time) contending that he was one of the rapists at Epstein's pervert palace and that he forcefully held her down as her raped her.
It is no accident that he picked one of the corrupt prosecutors, Alex Acosta, to be part of his cabinet. It was most likely a payoff for services rendered.
