Security guards indicted in Dante Price death, Dayton Ohio

http://www.whiotv.com/news/news/local/security-guards-indicted-dante-price-death/nPrGg/

In light of the Trayvon Martin case, I thought we could appreciate a little healthy justice action. The Prosecutor, Matt Heck, he is a fine leader from the Montgomery County Democratic Party by the way....

I share this as I see similarities in comparison with the Martin-Zimmerman case. Security guards( white), go "cowboy" on unarmed young black man who was leaving the scene due to previous tresspassing issue.... no crime...

This stands out to me.... "the two guards exceeded their legal authority in trying to detain Price and by using deadly force to try to make him comply,"

Let me say this...thank you Matt Heck ..." They were not police officers,” Heck said. “They did not have any arrest powers.”

"Private citizens do not have the legal authority to detain someone for a misdemeanor", Heck said.

Here is a little more..

DAYTON, Ohio —
Two security guards who shot a man to death March 1 at the Summit Square apartments were indicted Wednesday on charges of murder and abduction.

The two were patrolling the parking lot at the apartment complex on Hoover Avenue when they saw Price, who had been trespassed off the property before. They pulled their guns and ordered him to stop. Instead, Price fled in his car, and the guards shot at him at least 17 times, Heck said.

List your favorite, go-to cookware.

I love my Le Creuset 2-Quart sauce pots...I have 2, one white and one red and they are both "Heart Shaped". I call them my love pots.

I have an old, well seasoned, cast iron, #8 Griswold dutch oven Tilt-Top Baster, dated inside the lid, February 10th, 1920. I use it to bake my no-knead bread daily.

Oh, I must not forget my "Martha"....a kitchen aid stand mixer....another classic which I got for $75 dollars at a garage sale in 1995. It is a Hobart Made mixer from the Greenville-Troy Ohio location.

I also love my other cast iron skillets, my all clad and 5.5 Qt. Le Creuset dutch oven. Additionally, got to thank the chef's above for silpats. I have favorite mixing bowls too....local from Ohio as well....Roseville Pottery.

William Sonoma now selling chicken coops.

I find these adorable! I don't live in a house anymore; gone condo but if I did live in my old house, this is what I'd like to have...free range chickens! I'm impressed.

THE EGGS COLLECTED FROM FREE-ROAMING HENS are unlike any you buy in the supermarket, boasting yellow-orange yolks and pure, clean flavor. Egg-laying chickens are a good source of sustainable, nutritious protein. Here are some important things to keep in mind when planning your own backyard flock.

I really enjoy Michael Ruhlman's Blog; a foodie and an author....

His wife Donna is his photographer for the blog, books he writes and/or co-authors. I love how this marriage of food and photography so keenly zoom in on the soul of food and cooking.

I thought I'd share it here with friends as the feel good feelings are abundant.

Help me out here regarding George Zimmerman on the night of the shooting...

Was he just walking along the street in the community while packing heat when Trayvon came into his personal space perimeter?.. or....Was he riding around the neighborhood in a vehicle packing heat, then got out of the vehicle and followed Trayvon?

My target question:

Was Zimmerman just walking about or riding around? My thoughts are one is safer in the vehicle when confronted by teenage who is walking about carrying skittles and a can of ice tea. One can also get away quickly when in a vehicle....

Ohio State University marred by graffiti, " Long Live Zimmerman"

http://rt.com/usa/news/ohio-protest-university-zimmerman-480/

Days after an elderly white man says he was beaten by teenagers in retaliation for the death of Trayvon Martin, a nearby college was vandalized with a message believed to be in support of the teenager’s killer, George Zimmerman.

Earlier this year, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot to death by George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old armed neighbor watch member patrolling a neighborhood in Sanford, Florida. With Zimmerman so far escaping charges in the case, many Americans have cried foul over the death of an unarmed black teen that has spawned a confession from the shooter but no charges.

At Ohio State University in Columbus this week, school officials say that a wall inside the college’s black cultural center was vandalized with graffiti proclaiming “Long Live Zimmerman.” Local news outlets have speculated that the slogan was in reference to Martin’s killer, and Ohio State President E. Gordon Gee tells the Associated Press that university police are “vigorously investigating” the incident.

In response to the vandalism, students at Ohio State waged a sit-in protest at the school on Friday.
Thursday’s revelation came but days after a man upstate in East Toledo, Ohio says he was accosted by a half dozen youths, both black and white, who he believes attacked him because of his skin color. Dallas Watts, a 78-year-old white man, says he urged his assailants to rethink his attack, insisting, “Why you picking on me? Remember Trayvon?”

Kasich to join President Obama for NCAA game in Dayton Ohio

Oh for Chrissake!

This obnoxious, intrusive, attention seeking repug Kasick makes me want to spit up. I hope he is ignored by President Obama and the Prime Minister....Maybe President Obama will ask him why he removed all the highway signs saying " American Reinvestment Act" which were immediately remove the first week this snake took the Ohio Govenors chair.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich will be among those greeting President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron today when they arrive on Air Force One to attend the First Four basketball game.

“We think it’s always important anytime the president is in your state that you greet him,” said Kasich spokesman Rob Nichols. “It’s the president of the United States.”

Nichols said he is not sure what Kasich plans to say to the president or if he will discuss the state’s request for disaster aid. He said the governor will attend the Mississippi Valley State vs. Western Kentucky basketball game with Obama and Cameron.

DAYTON —
President Barack Obama will be making his first visit Tuesday to Dayton as commander-in-chief.

The White House announced Thursday that Obama will be bringing David Cameron, prime minister of the United Kingdom, with him to the University of Dayton Arena to take in a NCAA First Four basketball game, the first step to the Final Four of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

“I think it’s great. He is a huge a basketball fan,” City Commissioner Nan Whaley said. “Even he knows that Dayton is a huge basketball town.”

When told the White House had confirmed the visit, Catherine Petersen, Montgomery County communications director, was ecstatic.

“How fantastic for our area that the president of the United States is coming to the First Four at the University of Dayton Arena.”
