Why do you think the Republicans have been "The Party of No" all these years?
Because the main right-wing corporate credo is to cheat, steal, and rob every last
red cent from middle-class Americans - by hook and bycrook. And this includes
stealing from their own Republican middle-classes, which they are only making use of
for their own benefit.
Now, they couldn't very well tell this truth, can they? Hence their lies, which are
for the most part meant to fool their own followers.
The Democratic leadership is wise to the above, and try to devise ways and means
to put a stop to the right-wing crooked business. And the main agenda the
right-wingers can offer is to say "No" to the Democratic agenda.
They have nothing to offer the American people. And if they told the truth about
what they really have in mind, they'd lose most of their own people who are now
supporting them.
If some form of democracy continues to exist in our country long enough, the so-called
present-day "Republicans" will only self-destruct in time. They deserve nothing else
As Abe Lincoln once said, "You can't fool all the people all the time."
I think it's bad enough that they've already been fooling too many people for so long.
What does this say about all those who have been, and are still being, fooled?
It makes me furious sometimes that so many of us are so incapable of seeing what is
in front of our noses. How could anyone be so mindlessly gullible -- and for so long!!!
Are they human beings, or merely robots going about in their programmed motions?!
I say there are too many Al Capones holding high positions in business corporations as
well as in government. Al Capones always see to it that the lion's share of profits will
flow into their own pockets. And to hell with the people. That's why our nation is in
the mess it is. We are being ruled by murderous gangsters.
Obama has said he wanted us to "make him" do what we want. Let's oblige him.
I think the super-rich should not only begin paying the same tax rates as
the middle-class Americans do, they should also be made to pay back all
the taxes that they had escaped paying since the days of G. W. Bush .
Some ten years ago "W" decided to make the rich richer. He did this by
lowering taxes on the wealthy - among other things. It was legal for them
to pay lower taxes, but it was also definitely IMMORAL. The middle-class
had to bear the extra burden. We've all read, for example, of people having
to choose between eating less or doing without medications. How many of
them, especially among the elderly, died as a result? This is not very
different from hiring a professional hit-man to do your killing for you. It
was causing others' deaths for the sake of increased personal profit -- it's
sheer ugly and murderous greed.
Bush's lower tax law expires on Jan. 1, 2013, unless Obama should renew it,
which Obama had already repeatedly emphasized that he would not do --
except for the middle-income and poor groups. This is what the GOP will be
bargaining with him about, very shortly.
Romney admitted during one of the recent presidential debates that he
was paying only 14% taxes on his income (while his secretary was paying
30%). This is not only ridiculous and insane, it is also deliberate and
organized EVIL that has to be stopped -- immediately!!!
I think it's only fair that the well-to-do be made not only to pay the same
tax rate as the middle-classes, they must also be made to pay back the
taxes that they have escaped from paying the past ten years -- and with
interest. This would help to decrease the mountain-loads of national
debt, much of which has been created by them, especially in recent years.
The majority of Americans are for the rich paying more taxes. On this point
Obama does have a mandate. He has said in the past that he wanted the
American people to make him do their will. (I believe I've read that FDR
had said the same thing way back when). Let's oblige him. Let's make sure
that he knows, and very clearly knows, that he does have the mandate from
us to be more forceful during this, his second and final, term.
Does anyone know how effective are the security measures Dems. have taken against Rep. vote fraud
in Wisconsin today? The votes should not be left alone with the Repubs. for
even one second. Not one second -day or night!
Here are examples of dirty-tricks that right-wingers in Ohio and Fla., and organizations like
"True The Vote.org.", are doing right now in tampering with the voting system. The right-
wingers aren't very subtle about what they're doing, either. Could the reason be they think
they can do anything, and the Democrats will just take it? Can anyone think of effective
ways of stopping them?
Are we dealing with human beings, or are we dealing with monsters?
Monsters belong in cages.

In Iceland, the people have made the government resign, the primary banks have been nationalized, it
was decided to not pay the debt that these created with Great Britain and Holland due to their bad
financial politics, and a public assembly has been created to rewrite the constitution.
And all of this in a peaceful way. A whole revolution against the powers that have created the current
global crisis. This is why there hasn’t been any publicity during the last two years: What would happen if
the rest of the EU citizens took this as an example? What would happen if the US citizens took this as
an example.
This is a summary of the facts:
2008. The main bank of the country is nationalized.
The Krona, the currency of Iceland devaluates and the stock market stops. The country is in
bankruptcy
2008. The citizens protest in front of parliament and manage to get new elections that make the
resignation of the prime minister and his whole government.
The country is in bad economic situation.
A law proposes paying back the debt to Great Britain and Holland through the payment of 3,500
million euros, which will be paid by the people of Iceland monthly during the next 15 years, with a 5.5%
interest.
2010. The people go out in the streets and demand a referendum. In January 2010 the president
denies the approval and announces a popular meeting.
In March the referendum and the denial of payment is voted in by 93%. Meanwhile the government
has initiated an investigation to bring to justice those responsible for the crisis, and many high level
executives and bankers are arrested. The Interpol dictates an order that make all the implicated parties
leave the country.
In this crisis an assembly is elected to rewrite a new Constitution which can include the lessons learned
from this, and which will substitute the current one (a copy of the Danish Constitution).
25 citizens are chosen, with no political affiliation, out of the 522 candidates. For candidacy all that was
needed was to be an adult and have the support of 30 people. The constitutional assembly starts in
February of 2011 to present the ‘carta magna’ from the recommendations given by the different assemblies
happening throughout the country. It must be approved by the current Parliament and by the one
constituted through the next legislative elections.
So in summary of the Icelandic revolution:
-resignation of the whole government
-nationalization of the bank.
-referendum so that the people can decide over the economic decisions.
-incarcerating the responsible parties
-rewriting of the constitution by its people
Have we been informed of this through the media?
Has any political program in radio or TV commented on this?
No! The Icelandic people have been able to show that there is a way to beat the system and has given
a democracy lesson to the world >>
I wonder if we Americans are capable of doing the same thing the Icelanders have done. For one thing,
I don't believe that they have half of their country totally brain-washed by their right-wing media. Still, we
do have our Occupy Wall Street........ So, this really keeps me wondering.
Psychologist Robert D. Hare, Ph.D. in his book "Without Conscience" poses the
question: "Is Gov. Scott Walker a psychopath?"
"...We are becoming much more educated these days about psychopaths and as was stated above, there are many more of them than many people had realized - and they are running around free, they are living lives as if they were normal people, yet, still causing us all to live lives which are dramatically different than we would be able to live without them causing us the trouble that they do. Another expression or term that has been applied to psychopaths recently is that they are 'anti-human beings'. In some studies on the subject, psychopaths are described as non-human beings, but beings of a different sort, meaning they may look or have the appearance of ordinary human beings, but that they are in fact, another species - one that preys on humans.
There may be as many as five genes which psychopaths have which are different from normal (real) human beings. This could make them as different from us than an entirely different species, as if they are actually like (land) sharks which happen to look like us. And I think that this is the real danger for us when it come to psychopaths, IS that they look like us. We know to avoid sharks and other dangerous creatures, but what if those dangerous creatures look and act just like us? That, is what I feel that we are really dealing with when it comes to psychopaths.
Some of the items that called my attention to Scott Walker as a psychopath is that he has done many things the same way that I have seen psychopaths do things. One thing that they do is to use 'disclaimers'. That is, that they will tell you (to some degree that seems reasonable) what they plan to do. But they are thinking of things not as a normal human being, but as if this were like a chess game where they are always about 5 to 10 moves ahead of everyone else. they know ahead of time, for instance, what they will be forcing their opponents to do and they have already thought out how they are going to exploit the situation at that point. ........"

I sometimes wonder what might have happened if there had never been a civil war, and
the South had seceded.
My guess: In time world opinion alone, among other things, would have convinced them to abolish slavery. They would have looked so backward as long as they allowed it to continue. There wasn't any other moral choice.
The important thing is that they would have stopped slavery on their own. It wouldn't have been forced down their throats. Their pride wouldn't have been hurt. They are still suffering
from hurt pride today, a century and a half later.
So there would have been two separate countries, or perhaps they might even have rejoined
the Union? The bitterness wouldn't have been there, and quite possibly racism in general would have been less than it is today.

How Swedes and Norwegians broke the power of their "1%."
Sweden and Norway are two of the richest and most democratic nations in the world today, and have
been so for many years. But they weren't always so. Norway didn't even become an independent
nation until 1905. Prior to that it was ruled either by Denmark or Sweden.
Both Sweden and Norway were living under the oppression of their own "1%," until they learned how
to throw off their yoke through non-violent means. It was a long and difficult struggle, but they
succeeded. Maybe we can learn from them.

Elizabeth Warren is not just an obviously bright person. There is something about her that
lets her honesty, integrity and caring about one's neighbor come shining through. This, I think,
is what makes her so appealing to so many people. I think she will win the MA election by a
huge margin.
