Mild Earthquake Strikes Castel Gandolfo, Pope Emeritus' Home, Just Days After He Arrives: Report

Various Italian news sources reported Sunday that a mild earthquake had struck Rome and surrounding areas, including Castel Gandolfo, the former pope's temporary home.

According to the Agence France-Presse, the earthquake had a local magnitude of 2.5 and was felt in Rome, Ciapino, Marino and Castel Gandolfo. So far, no reports of injury or serious damage have been relayed to the Italian Department of Civil Protection.

Italian news blog Blogo reported that, according to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the quake originated at a depth of 10.5 kilometers.

Then, as now, some people speculated as to whether the act of nature was really a divine message. On Sunday, Italia Domani asked whether the earthquake wasn't a sign for the cardinals who will soon be choosing a new pope.

Republicans in Congress say they never need another raise

They seem all in favor to cut expenses before they will look at generating more income so there really is no reason for them to ask for more money. All they have to do is downsize. Sell that expensive car. Sell that fancy house. Put their kids in public schools(read that corporation schools), cut back on those fancy restaurants.

I salute them for setting the example for the masses.

What I am hearing is that today is the first day of this country's slide into the Bowels of Hell

Where is Congress??

Does god pick the next Pope??

Just listened to the news on the radio

The Church is attacking Italian newspapers for running stories that they feel will influence the Cardinals that will pick the next Pope. I have always heard that god moved the Cardinals to vote for the next Pope. It seems that the Church is unsure if it is politics or god that picks the next Pope. I think the Church should get their stories straight

Strange ..........

McCain: ‘I call people jerks all the time… it’s supposed to be fun’

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) on Wednesday refused to apologized for calling a constituent a jerk, saying that he used the insult “all the time” and “it’s supposed to be fun.”

At a town hall event earlier in the week, the Arizona Republican had become frustrated after the crowd heckled him for opposing the mass deportation of undocumented immigrants.

“Occasionally, I get a jerk like you,” McCain told one constituent who argued that money spent on border security wasn’t helping to build a fence to keep immigrants out.

“Oh, that’s not a fence? It’s a banana,” McCain snapped at the man. “We’re putting up a banana with about $600 million of appropriations we have.”

much, much more

From now he will be know by Senator Jerk ......... it will be fun
