My third stepmother left my abusive father, then after a few months remarried him and he was worse than ever, his stepdaughters kept calling the cops when he would beat their mother and finally he was arrested…a year or so after that she finally left him for good and started the long slow process of recovering and regaining the sanity he took from her. My stepsisters recovered from the nightmare but to this day hate him with a passion. He would do things like superglue the family Yorkshire terrier’s lips together as “punishment” and when he came back to find the kids had adopted a kitten, he took the kitten and threw it as hard as he could over the fence. The kitten never returned. Animals are smarter than humans, they know to never return to danger.

Did another layer on one of my cat paintings, maybe about two more layers to go.
I need to make more refinements and get the fur to look like fur, and of course add the whiskers. I think I need to make that left ear a little smaller, looks off to me.

I’ve known since high school and this is his kitty who was his favorite but his kitty passed away. So I want so much to make a painting he will like and one that he recognizes as looking like Felix because then he will have a comforting painting. I will be so disappointed in myself if I can’t give him a painting that achieves those goals.

Started another cat painting while waiting for the first one to dry so I can paint more layers.
This is just the first layer. The details will be refined and proportions corrected some as I paint more layers and details.

People with cPTSD have difficulty explaining why things feel so intense. Think of a person in pain who was always denied help with past pain & imagine what they’ve had to do all those years to get by. The c in cPTSD is complex. A life built in survival mode is not easy to explain
I understand. I feel that way pretty much all of the time, and it's one of the reasons
I never had children. Didn’t want to inflict this shitty life on any other soul.
