Sorry for not providing more of these -- progress has been slow but
steady every day, so there hasn't been any one event really worth
"reporting on".

They held their weekly progress meeting and their conclusion was
that they were going to release me on Wednesday (the part of the
truth that pissed me off). I talked with the doctor and the social
worker and cleared up some misconceptions that they had (I don't
drive and, here in Tucson, the last time I had to go up or down ANY
steps was 10 years ago).

The part of the truth that's setting me free?

I'm going to go home on Saturday!!!!!

I have some catching up to do, some fixing to do and some basic
necessities to procure, but I think I can take care of 6 weeks worth of
inattention in 1, 2 days tops.
.
I am so glad go be going home. Thank you for all your well-wishes and
support, and perhaps especially, YOUR humor. All those things played
a big role in keeping my spirits up and positive and able to do the things
I needed to do in a minimum amount of time (though it SEEMED so long),

It was delivered to the German people in West Berlin during the Cold War and,
at one point, he told them he was one of them -- "Ich bin ein Berliner", The
crowd understood and went hysterical in its cheers and applause... even
though a "Berliner" locally meant a very popular donut -- and he had literally
told them that "I am a pastry".
