I had enough of violent action against humans by

Lions, and tigers, and bears, and wolves, and..., and other humans. These perpetrators of violence use teeth, claws, superior strength, superior numbers, and/or tools such as stones, clubs, sharp objects,..., and guns.

In general, the most powerful tool available for self defense against violence being perpetrated by a living being is a gun in the trained and willing hands of the individual under attack.

Yes, we have had enough of violent action against humans. That is why I carry a gun.

Anyone who thinks law abiding citizens will remain law abiding if a law is placed on the books that effectively removes our unalienable right to life and the defense of that life from violent actions by others must mentally reside in La La Land.

"If every Jewish and anti-Nazi family in Germany

had owned a Mauser rifle, twenty rounds of ammunition, and the will to use it, Adolf Hitler would be a little-known footnote to the history of the Weimar Republic."
--- Aaron Zelman ---

History has taught us the critical importance of armed defense of ourselves and those in our charge. Thankfully, some have taken that lesson seriously.

Semper Fi,

What does my use of tools have to do with politics????

I have trained with and used firearms for more than 50 years. I have used them for sport. I have used them to provide meat for my family. I have used them to defend myself and my family in my home against violent criminals. I have used them to defend my country.

I have and use many, many different types of tools that, used unsafely or improperly, can cause injury or death. But part of being free is the right to use tools that improve my life and the responsibility to use them in a safe and proper manner.

My use of tools - ANY tools has NOTHING to do with my hope for the betterment of all my fellow citizens.

Do you select your tools based on your political philosophy or their ability to perform the task at hand?

I use a hammer when I need to use a hammer. I use a saw when I need to use a saw. I use a firearm when I need to use a firearm.

What does that make me? It make me a free, hard working, tool using citizen. What does it have to do with my socially liberal politics? Not a single thing.

Semper Fi,

Spock on Gun Logic

I absolutely denounce that view and,

as previously stated, hold that there are extremest "wing-nuts" on both sides. I also denounce the statement from the D.C. mayor's office that the best way to deal with violent criminals is to be a victim.

Using a weapon to stop a crime is totally within our right of self-defense. If the criminal dies in the process, so be it. However, after the criminal has been subdued, killing that criminal by any means is murder.

Playing devil's advocate:

It is legal to abort a viable fetus but killing a new-born is murder.

In both examples, the criminal and baby end up dead. The only question is when in the process that death occurs.

Like I said, both sides have a great deal in common including a total lack of common sense.

Semper Fi,

The Gun Is Civilization

This is the best statement concerning the personal right and reason to bear arms I have ever read.

Take that you uncivilized antis !!!

Semper Fi,

Oh, you were clear. Clearly Wrong - Again.

You really meant "into the grocery store" ?!?!

Now THAT really is a Load of B.S.

Concerning the other points addressed: You know virtually nothing about me or any other person in this group whatever their stated position on the issue. Your continued assumptions concerning others really do devalue your input to zero minus a bunch.

Semper Fi,

Get off the"The Children" Crap !!

This guy is 17 years old. My uncle was 17 years old and an infantryman on D-Day at Normandy.

"The Children" card might be played up to maybe age 12. After that it is simply B.S.

Semper Fi,

Because a law abiding, responsible citizen

is law abiding and responsible, that citizen will determine for themselves the type and amount of firearms training they individually need.

An individual owning, carrying, deploying, and/or using a firearm is not a group exercise. It is specific to the individual. Always has been. Always will be.

If owning, carrying, deploying, and/or use of forearms became illegal, only LAW ABIDING citizens would be disarmed. RESPONSIBLE citizens would continue to arm themselves, prepared to face the consequences of their actions if necessary.

"It is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6"
