Stephen Colbert ridicules Fox News’s latest hilariously uninformed Benghazi conspiracy

“If you follow the news,” he began, “you know that Benghazi has been blowing up again because of a scandalous new memo linking the Obama Administration directly to things said by members of the Obama Administration.”

“Fox News’s The Five‘s Eric Bolling,” Colbert continued, “has an iron-clad explanation for why they did whatever it is we’re accusing them of having done after the Benghazi attack.”

He then cuts to Bolling, who is saying “that there’s one more piece to this. Don’t forget that [Benghazi] was prior — prior — to Osama bin Laden being taken down, and the thought was, the discussion was, ‘Is President Obama, going into the reelection, soft on terror or not?’”

Bolling then interrupts himself, as an off-screen producers informs him of something: “What, it was after?”

“Yes, much after,” Dana Perino can be heard saying.

“My bad,” Bolling said, “I take it back.”

“But a great point, if it were true,” Perino added.

“Yes,” Colbert replied, “that’s undeniable. A great point, and a fantastic new motto: ‘Fox News: Fair and Balanced. A Great Point If It Were True.”

He then “wagged his finger” at Dana Perino for informing Bolling that he was wrong. “He was pulling a passionate, heart-felt conspiracy theory straight out of his ass.

Charlie Crist: ‘Intolerable’ racism and hate for Obama is why I left the GOP

Huffington Post reported that the now-Democratic candidate for governor said, “I just couldn’t take it anymore” in the GOP.

“I saw what was happening with the Republican Party,” said Crist. “They’re perceived now as being anti-woman, anti-immigrant, anti-minority, anti-gay, anti-education, anti-environment. I just wasn’t comfortable.”

Ramos countered that Crist only left the Republican Party when it became clear that he was going to lose the race for U.S. Senate to now-Sen. Marco Rubio (R), which Crist denied.

“No, I left the Republican Party because the Republican leadership went off the cliff,” countered Crist.

He went on to say that he couldn’t stay with a party that was “so unfriendly to the African-American president. I’ll just go there.”

“Because I was a Republican, I saw the activists and what they were doing,” said Crist, “and it was intolerable to me…and I saw how the party — some of them — were treating the African-American president and I couldn’t take it anymore. That’s a big part of why I left the party.”

Protestors take over Missouri Senate, Demand Medicaid Expansion (Live Updates)(Full Video)

On a day where Missouri passed an irresponsible tax cut overriding a Jay Nixon Veto, elderly and others have taken to the capital to demand that Missouri take the Medicaid Expansion.

As a result, state capital police were called to help clear them out.

“We will not be silent. We will not be silent. The pain of Missouri speaks today. Today the misery of Missouri speaks. Today the pain the hurt the sickness the poverty of Missouri speaks,” the protestors chanted. “Today we will not be silent.”
As soon as the protesters erupted, Senate Majority Floor Leader Ron Richard, R-Joplin, called for the Senate to go into recess and ordered the gallery of the Senate cleared. During their removal, the group broke into song, singing that Missourians without Medicaid “shall overcome” the lack of health coverage, and representatives of different religions prayed for expansion.

GOP and Fox: Where was your ‘outrage and sanctimony’ over Iraq?

Specifically, Stewart pointed to interviews given by then-Vice President Dick Cheney, then-Secretary of State Colin Powell and then-National Security Advisor Condolezza Rice on Sept. 8, 2002 — the same day a story planted by the Bush administration ran in the New York Times, allowing them to bring up a non-existent threat of Iraq looking to buy “high-quality aluminum tubes that are really only for nuclear weapons programs.”

“They knew a year in advance that what they were saying on the show that day was not true,” Stewart said of the administration officials. “Where was the outrage?”

Watch Stewart’s commentary, as posted by Crooks & Liars on Monday, below.

Curious About The Biggest Trade Deal In History? Sorry, It’s Classified or

never sign a contract that you cannot read before hand or have enough time to read and understand the terms. I repeat if you cannot understand clearly the terms of the agreement / contract do not sign it.

TPP, as it stands, is classified. The White House can see it. Leaders in negotiating nations can see it. About 600 reps from America’s most powerful corporations can see it.

But the American public is forbidden from perusing the deal, and the people they elect are barred from negotiations. Though Congress will eventually decide its fate, US lawmakers are increasingly frustrated at TPP’s intense secrecy. Given the way trade deals work on Capital Hill, they may get precious little time to review the colossal pact before deciding whether to make it law.

The secrecy has even riled up Obama’s own political camp.

BANGKOK — The Trans-Pacific Partnership sounds deadly boring.

It’s not.

The potential impact on humanity from this proposed mega-deal is impossible to measure. TPP could bankrupt families in Kansas and enrich them in Kuala Lumpur. Or make patented medicine wildly unaffordable for sick people in poor places. Or even imprison citizens of 12 countries for pirating Game of Thrones episodes.

Or maybe, as its proponents claim, TPP could plug the US into Asia’s rising markets and give the global economy a needed jolt. Either way, if secured, it will be a corporation-friendly game changer for 800 million people.

Will the US citizens sign off on a contract they are not allowed to read or fully debate?

Lindsey Graham Says Republicans Risk Getting 'Burned' On Benghazi Issue

It is a political witch hunt.

From HP:
Any attempt by Republicans to embarrass the Obama administration over the deadly Sept. 11, 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, could backfire in the mid-term congressional elections, a Republican U.S. senator warned on Sunday.

Snip......

"If we're playing politics with Benghazi, we'll get burned," Graham said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur blasts GOP and Fox over Benghazi: ‘F*ck you, move the f*ck on’

Young Turks host Cenk Uygur angrily denounced Republicans and Fox News on Friday for continuing to paint the September 2012 attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya as a conspiracy.

“Why don’t we talk for eight years about the gross incompetence of the f*cking Republicans George g*ddamn W. Bush and Dick Cheney? They sit in f*cking Crawford for a month as they’re about to attack us,” Uygur said. “You got a memo that said, ‘[Osama] bin Ladin determined to attack inside the United States of America,’ you didn’t do anything about that. Three-thousand Americans died and you want to talk about Benghazi and four Americans, ‘Oh, and you changed it from ‘attacks’ to f*cking ‘demonstrations.’ F*ck you, move the f*ck on.”

OMFG FOX NEWS (the GOP propaganda organization)

Fox News cut away from President Obama's press conference with German chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday because people weren't asking Obama questions about Benghazi.

Snip.........

"We are not anticipating that that [question] would be about the situation with Benghazi, which is breaking news since the president has been talking, really," she said. "So if in fact somebody throws him a question on this topic, we'll go back to that joint news conference...we're going to move on here with what is breaking."

The network stayed true to its word, and didn't return to the press conference.

Elizabeth Warren Blasts The FCC's Net Neutrality Plan

Elizabeth Warren Blasts The FCC's Net Neutrality Plan: 'Just One More Way The Playing Field Is Tilted'

"We don’t know who is going to have the next big idea in this country, but we’re pretty sure they’re going to need to get online to do it," Warren wrote on her Facebook page Wednesday. "Reports that the FCC may gut net neutrality are disturbing, and would be just one more way the playing field is tilted for the rich and powerful who have already made it."

Last week the FCC announced that it was essentially backing down on plans to force big internet providers to treat everybody alike in their access to internet users. Under the FCC's new position, big data sources like Netflix could be forced to pay for access to customers of ISPs like Verizon.
