really stupid question about covid

friend of mine is recovering from covid
both his wife and himself came down with it
went to a restaurant and 3 days later they
did a home test and came up positive as well
as 2 others at the restaurant..
anyway he did the home test and was positive
they went to ER .. and the hospital didn't test them
didn't isolate them nothing .. gave them some meds
and sent them home ... is this now the new normal?
I had covid feb 2020 ... and my goodness they sure
didn't do that ... it was like I had the plague or something
anyway I was wondering if this is how hospitals are
treating people with covid.

when I am wrong I will admit it ..

found out in an article from the hill that Senator Sinema from AZ
is not going to caucus with the Dems or Rep. I was under the
impression that even though she became indie she was still going
to caucus with Team Blue.

Why Sinema left the Democratic Party. BY ALEXANDER BOLTON - 12/10/22 6:00 AM

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (Ariz.) had plenty of reason to leave the Democratic Party and become an Independent, Senate Democratic aides and strategists say.
Her relationship with Democrats in her home state had deteriorated so badly she may not have survived a primary challenge in 2024.

She told CNN in an interview that removing herself from “the partisan structure” was “true to who I am and how I operate” and would “provide a place of belonging for many folks across [her] state and the country, who are also tired of partisanship.”
LaBombard, who now serves as a senior vice president at Rokk Solutions, a bipartisan public affairs firm, said the change in party affiliation reflects how Sinema has been operating in the Senate over the past two years as a centrist dealmaker.

Sinema doesn’t plan to caucus with either party in the Senate, but Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) announced Friday that he will let her keep her committee assignments.
“She asked me to keep her committee assignments and I agreed. Kyrsten is independent; that’s how she’s always been,” he said in a statement

rail strike averted ? with no sick days

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/biden-signs-bill-aimed-at-averting-rail-strike-says-nation-avoided-catastrophe/ar-AA14PPAx?OCID=ansmsnnews11

Biden signs bill aimed at averting rail strike, vows to fight for sick leave
President Joe Biden on Friday signed legislation aimed at averting a nationwide rail strike while acknowledging that workers didn't get everything they wanted.

That agreement was later rejected by some worker unions because it didn't include days of paid sick leave.

But on Thursday, the Senate voted 80-to-15 to impose the agreement while subsequently voting down a bill passed by the House that would have provided workers with seven days of paid sick leave.

Six Republicans voted to add sick leave but the measure ultimately fell short of the 60 votes needed to pass. Some of those lawmakers joined five Democratic caucus members, including Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, in voting against the bill forcing workers to accept the agreement.

so help me understand this ....
President Biden negotiated this plan... the union rejected it...
now congress (a democratic congress) is forcing the union to
not strike and accept this plan.. is this correct.

want to make sure I understand this...

I looked but didn't see anything about this today...it was on my "bing" latest news.

Boeing offers to make bomb for Ukraine

https://www.newswars.com/boeing-offers-to-make-bombs-for-ukraine-report/

The Pentagon is reportedly considering an offer from Boeing to mass-produce cheap precision bombs for Ukraine using existing US stores, as Washington and its allies struggle to keep up with Kiev’s military aid requirements.

According to Reuters, Boeing has proposed supplying Ukraine’s forces with the so-called Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) system, which would pair the $40,000 GBU-39 Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) with the relatively abundant M26 rocket motor. The weapon has been in development since 2019.

In a document seen by the outlet, the manufacturer claims the availability of the necessary components would enable it to produce the ordnance and start delivering it to Ukraine as early as spring 2023.

However, there are still logistical obstacles to overcome, as at least six suppliers would have to expedite shipment of parts in order to produce the weapons quickly. Boeing’s plan also asks for a price discovery waiver, which would exempt the contractor from an in-depth review to ensure the Pentagon is getting a fair deal.

According to the website of SAAB AB, which manufactures the weapon together with Boeing, the GPS-guided GLSDB is capable of striking targets at a range of up to 150 kilometers, which would potentially allow Kiev to strike Russian forces far beyond the front line.

While both the US military and Boeing have declined to comment on the report, Pentagon spokesperson Lt. Cmdr. Tim Gorman told Reuters that Washington and its allies “identify and consider the most appropriate systems” that would help Kiev. He refused to elaborate on providing any “specific capability” to Ukraine.

Moscow has repeatedly warned the US and its NATO allies against supplying weapons to Ukraine, arguing that it only serves to prolong the conflict and could eventually lead to a direct confrontation between Russia and the West.

Only your patronage to our store is what keeps this beacon of truth lit in the controlled-narrative darkness.
As countries like the US and UK have made more advanced weapon systems available to Kiev’s forces, capable of reaching deep behind the front lines, the Kremlin has described the ongoing conflict as nothing short of a proxy war against NATO. President Vladimir Putin has also stated Russia is fighting “the entire Western military machine.”
