a2liberal's JournalWhat is the proper way to bring a suspicious new user to MIRT's attention these days?
I thought it used to be to do a jury alert with the TOS checkbox checked. I didn't see a TOS checkbox this time, thought maybe the alert was still the right thing, but got excoriated by the jury for it (the post wasn't particularly hide-worthy -- I mentioned in comments that the alert was primarily for bringing user to MIRT's attention), so wondering now what I should have done instead.
Just watched the Biden interview
and dang it, I have to say it... he's just so likable.
Don't get me wrong, I disagree with him on a whole lot of stuff, and would really rather not see him as President, but he comes off as a genuine guy. Now maybe it's all an act, but if it is, it's a good one.

How do edits work these days?
So I know that some edits don't show up with the old-style "edit history". I also have seen the edit history still on some posts. I vaguely recall a buzz around the changes but I never quite figured out what they are. Is it just a certain time window where edits aren't marked? Is there an explanation somewhere? Thanks!
Bernie Sanders: Youth Unemployment and Dr. King’s Dream
By Senator Bernie Sanders
Dr. King taught us that the struggle for justice is economic, as well as social and legal. As he said in Memphis, a few short weeks before his death:
Our struggle is for genuine equality, which means economic equality. For we know now that it isnt enough to integrate lunch counters. What does it profit a man to be able to eat at an integrated lunch counter if he doesnt have enough money to buy a hamburger?
Let me tell you why this is so important. The Economic Policy Institute studied the real unemployment figures for recent high school graduates aged 1720, including people who have given up looking for work and those who are working part-time but seek full-time employment. They are devastating. More than one third of white and Hispanic youth (33.8 and 36.1 percent, respectively) are looking for work. Shockingly, so are more than half of African-Americans (51.3 percent).
I want to emphasize that:
When you look at the real job figures, more than 50 percent of young African-Americans are looking for work.

Half a Heart?
Well, I guess this isn't really truly a question... I was just amused by the fact that the automatic PM told me I had xx.00 hearts to give.
Hmm, actually just tried making a non-round amount gift and I got fractional hearts! Looking forward to finding out whether I can give it out! :-D
