When we started our campaign together, much of the corporate-owned media wrote us off. They said we had no chance, that we couldnt win, that victory was impossible.
Since then weve demonstrated the strength of our political revolution: weve risen in the polls, drawn the largest crowds and volunteer base of any campaign, and last quarter raised more money than every Republican and almost as much as Hillary Clinton.
But our movement isnt about how much money we raise, its about how many times individuals have stepped up to contribute to our campaign. And right now, were just short of reaching our historic goal of two million individual contributions by midnight tonight.
Make a $50 contribution today and send an unmistakable message that the American people have had ENOUGH of the billionaire class buying our elections.
When people look at this accomplishment, I want them to see every single contribution as a declaration of support for the values we share. Please help us reach our goal.
In solidarity,
Bernie Sanders
Let's make it 3 million contributors!!

Call me a flip flopper. Call me a socialist. Call me naïve, but whatever you do dont call me a BernieBro.
I wrote some diaries in support of Hillary Clinton back in Oct of this year. But since then Ive done some searching and come to the decision that I cannot miss my chance to show America that we socialists are here and ready to lead!
Bernie Sanders is giving a voice to the America that I want us to become! Bernie Sanders is representing my world view on the national stage for the first time in my lifetime. I cannot overstate how good it feels to support Bernie, I feel the movement of our nation and know Im trying to help move us in the correct direction.
>snip<
Less than one year till Election Day there is much to do but if we work hard we can save the Ship of State from sinking. Weve been rowing this ship for so long I think it time to drop our oars and put full stop on the 1% plans. Bernie Sanders is a American hero and we need to believe in him. I at first in this election cycle was scared that he couldnt win. I feared if we lose 2016 its going to be hard to come back from. My wife support Bernie before me and during a discussion about policy I cried really hard. I cried because I knew I wanted Sen. Sanders to win because I believed in him, and I cried because I was scared it couldnt happen. I clung to Hillarys poll numbers to help me feel safe about next year. I cried long and hard thinking of what would happen if Trump/Graham/Carson were allowed to win, if we were too divided to come together. I can see now that clinging to anything even an acceptable candidate betrays democracy. Im not supposed to vote based on what I think would win easily. Im supposed to vote because I want to make my desires known.
Truth be told when I voted for Obama I half-hoped the Republicans were right. That he would be our first socialist president and stick it to them! Hes was in reality as he said, a democratic centrist, which is fine we needed him at that time of turmoil. Now we have a chance to move America forward in the greatest leap since FDR, We cannot afford to miss this chance.
I know in my heart that if we can elect Bernie his youth voter draw will sweep more democrats into office like 08. Lets do this! For social justice! For single payer! For every American!
I am a Proud America and I support Sen. Bernie Sanders For president of the United States in 2016.

Has it been two weeks since the last one of these? So, here are the trend lines of our communitys look into the Democratic presidential primary:
SANDERS
60
CLINTON
38
You can assume that anything significantly above 8,000 votes is the effect of outside freeping (bringing in people from outside the community to influence the results of the poll). We saw heavy freeping of this poll in November, not so much two weeks ago. So we can confidently say that the afterglow of Hillary Clintons first debate and Benghazi committee performances has faded, and the original 3-2 Sanders advantage within this community has returned.
But we are seeing quite a bit of volatility, more so than we saw most of the year. So lets see how things stand today. Vote!
So far today...
Hillary Clinton
42% with 1833 votes
Bernie Sanders
56% with 2442 votes

Perhaps you've noticed. Some people and institutions are working feverishly to convince us that real social change is not possible.
Their target is Bernie Sanders and the growing army of his supporters who are fed up with politics as usual and the grip of Wall Street and corporate America on our political, economic and social system.
The theme is to desperately convince us that Sanders can't win. They repeat it over and over, even though Sanders polls as well or better than Hillary Clinton does against every leading Republican candidate.
Behind this effort is an alarmed corporate old guard that still runs the Democratic Party establishment and their allies in the corporate think tanks and the media, with a special nod to NBC/MSNBC, which is owned and operated by General Electric and Comcast.
There's a term that has seeped into the lexicon. Gas lighting. It dates back to a 1938 play "Gas Light" and a 1944 move, "Angel Street." In which an abusive husband tries to convince his wife she is insane by distorting facts -- dimming the gaslights -- and denying the reality (in this instance the changed lighting) exists.
Skip ahead 70 years and the concept has morphed from the realm of domestic abuse to the political arena. As a Kos columnist wrote a few years ago, "deliberate manipulation to create a false reality that is used to control the victim" or in this case, social control.
In the political world, the goal is to consciously mislead those shut out of political and economic power, to make them distrust their ability to challenge those who hold that power, and demobilize them from acting to change an oppressive system.
In this case to blunt the Sanders' surge, and what it represents for the millions of people who want to reverse income inequality, guarantee health care to everyone, break up the banks, carry out meaningful environmental justice and criminal justice reform, and all the other far reaching planks of Sanders' campaign and the coalition supporting it.
thrust of their effort is to persuade Sanders supporters that he cannot win, in large part by using all the well-funded mechanisms in their control to retard wider exposure to the message of Sanders and his allies. The power elite form of turning down the gaslights.
Here's a small part of how the manipulation works.
The Democratic National Committee slashes the number of debates and schedules debates on Saturday nights when far fewer people are watching, and pressures its elected officials and convention super delegates for an early endorsement in an effort to lock down a coronation of their preferred candidate.
Meanwhile the media, in particular NBC/MSNBC which has the biggest network audience of presumed Democratic Party voters, limits coverage of Sanders while it's parent company, GE, also directs its Hollywood subsidiaries, including Universal Studios (co-owned by Comcast) and its NBC shows, to line up its contracted celebrities to endorse the politics as usual campaign.
>snip<
And, all the efforts to turn out the lights will not stop the momentum for change.

Don't Let Them Gaslight the 'Bern'ing for Social Change
Gas-light-ing (gas-lighting) v. 1. a form of mental abuse in which information is twisted or spun 2. false information presented with the intent of making victims doubt their own perception and reality. Adj. gas-lit misled into accepting false information for the purpose of social controlPerhaps you've noticed.
