Texas lawyer exposes religious hiring test for peace officers: County only wanted Baptist constables

A Texas judge ruled last week that a case against Williamson County could go forward after a job applicant claimed that commissioners had a religious test for constable jobs.

Robert Lloyd explained at a press conference that Williamson County asked about his views on marriage, abortion and religion during a 2013 interview for a job at the Williamson County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office.

“I was shocked,” Lloyd said, according to KVUE. “I was sick to my stomach when I left because I had never believed that things like this in government would go on.”

Lawyers for jailed Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis said on Monday they had asked an appellate court to force Governor Steve Beshear to let her refuse to issue same-sex marriage licenses based on her religious convictions.

The lawyers sought emergency relief from the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, asking it to grant Davis an exemption from the “Governor’s mandate that all county clerks issue marriage licenses,” the non-profit legal advocacy group Liberty Counsel, which represents Davis, said in a news release.

My Step-Mom thinks should be allowed an accommodation. I am torn on this. Maybe if she didn't act like a jerk I would lean a little more towards it BUT then I am thinking after all the BS she caused she should be fired.

I have seen businesses and even local government office accommodate individuals for various regions some of which was for religious belief. But when someone force their belief on others I feel like they should be knocked off their pedestal.


EDIT: Thanks to Liberal Veteran I have a new understanding. post # 6. If she was given the choice to let someone else to issue the marriage license and she isn't letting anyone issue them Kim can rot in jail.

Update: Wife got some medicine... "The flood gate is closed" Wife words.

So yesterday evening my wife called the GYN to see if they could get her in sooner or give her something. Doctor was nice said the 10th was the earliest. She did order something for my wife she takes 2 times a day. By This afternoon she had no bleeding.


Still going to keep all the appointments.


She wanted to thank you all for support.

Need to vent. Had to take my wife to the hospital Saturday night.

Female issues to the point of her getting dizzy from the bleeding. 2 days past her cycle changing every 40-45 minutes. sometimes double pads on. We are there until 3:30 am( got there at )

They did give her fluids BUT the first IV imploded in her arm. They claim her "levels" were not in danger and they basically sent her home with adult diapers because her bleeding was so extreme saying there was nothing they could do and she just have to let it run its course.


My poor wife is still bleeding heavy she an appointment to see her pcp Thurs, she couldn't get an appointment with a specialist until the 10th.


Is women's healthcare really this bad in this country?

I get embarrassed talking or listening about these issues (I am sure most men do) But I am piss watching my wife so tired and using adult dippers at night because there isn't a pill or even a shot to give her to stop this even temporary.

A leader at the Christian rehabilitation center Josh Duggar supposedly checked into is helping another accused sexual predator avoid prosecution by keeping him abroad, Patheos reports.

Duggar has purportedly sought treatment at Reformers Unanimous — a facility run by North Love Baptist Church. The pastor of North Love Baptist, Paul Kingsbury, helped a man accused of sexual assault remain on a religious mission overseas to avoid prosecution in the United States, according to Patheos.

A black Ohio man got a police officer to admit to him on video that he followed him for nearly two miles and pulled him over for making “direct eye contact,” talk show host David Pakman reported.

“As suspicious as ‘making direct eye contact’ may be to a police officer, doing the exact opposite — that is, avoiding eye contact with a police officer — could be considered equally suspicious by an officer,” Pakman noted. “In other words, both making eye contact and not making eye contact with police could, conceivably, be grounds for a traffic stop, if you agree with the general principle suggested herein.”


The motorist, John Felton, posted the video online after the encounter earlier this month, saying he started recording as soon as the officer started tailing him as he drove to his mother’s house in Dayton

School Bans Child’s Wonder Woman Lunchbox – Considered Too Violent



A child’s school has banned her lunchbox, because it features the comic book character Wonder Woman.

The school sent the unnamed girl home with a letter for her parents, explaining why they deem it inappropriate – which a family friend and Reddit user has posted online for the world to weigh in on.

Reddit user twines18 posted a photo of the letter sent, along with a couple of snaps of the child’s lunchbox, explaining that the school finds Wonder Woman to be a figure that represents violence.

But it’s not just this particular superhero that the school has it in for – they don’t allow any superheroes to be worn on clothing, backpacks or lunchboxes of the children.
