ellenrr's Journalcoffee intoxication
I'm posting this for your interest, it may affect others.
I've known for a long time that I am sensitive to caffeine. esp. sine I got older (I'm 68)
Recently I began meditating, and I noticed that drinking coffee increases my anger and irritability, even one cup or 2.
So I've been cutting back.
Keeping it generally to bet. one and 2 cups. (of weak instant)- spaced out over a few hours.
and that is usually ok.
Yesterday I got it into my head to clean up apt, and decided to drug myself with 3 strong cups of coffee drunk in a short time.
it really worked.
I worked on my task from 9 am to 3 pm, with little break and no food.
This morning I woke up and felt like I had a hang-over.
It wasn't actually unpleasant, but it was weird, and i didn't feel "like myself".
So I realize it was the coffee and today, am drinking a lot of water and tea (and no coffee). and will walk later, as one source said exercise helps to get it out of body.
another sources recommends vit c. Another source recommends 32 oz of water in TEN minutes, which I think would make me throw up.
I'm pretty sure no permanent damage done, and I will never do it again --
but it is something I never experienced before.
(except when drinking alcohol.)
any thots on therapists keeping notes on the patient?
I visited a therapist about 10 times.
each time she took copious notes, which made me uneasy, but I didn't say anything.
I did note that she keeps them in a big, bulging briefcase, presumably with all the other patients notes.
I am no longer going to see her.
I want to ask her to destroy her notes on me.
Of course I can't confirm she will, even if she agrees.
But if she doesn't agree, I'd like to know my options.
seems to me I am within my rights.
thanks
In Turkey, the state doesn’t talk—it only shoots
A gripping eyewitness account from Diyarbakir, in southeastern Turkey, where the state continues its onslaught on the Kurdish civilian population.
"I think they have awakened from a dream now and are in a state of shock. For a century, we Kurds have been second-class people. We want peace, I feel that, but we want a just peace. Even those who lost siblings or children due to the terror of the state in the last 30 years, as guerrillas or as civilians, desire peace so strongly that they eagerly believe every spark of hope.
Many mistrust the state, which has acted ever more brutally since the summer. Its acts of cruelty with the recurring curfewsin Sur, since December 1are gradually waking the people up. First it was only the political activists, and now even the residents often say things like the resistance has begun and theres nothing left for us now but to fight with dignity.

In Ironic Twist, the Bundy Militia Just Got Confronted by a Competing Group of Armed Lunatics
Source: USnewsUncut
Ammon Bundys gang finally has the armed confrontation theyve been preparing for. Just not with whom they were expecting.
As of Saturday evening, a group calling itself the Pacific Patriot Network descended on the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Harney County, Oregon, just as Bundys group was finishing a press conference. According to The Oregonian, Joseph Rice, a spokesman representing the new group of armed men, is presenting the Bundy militia with Articles of Resolution, ordering them to end the standoff and return to their homes.
Whats in the document the group presented to Bundys gang is unclear, as the Pacific Patriot Network is, so far, refusing to speak to media, citing a media blackout.
Other reports claim the heavily-armed group isnt siding with either the current militiamen occupying the wildlife refuge or with government agencies. Nobody at the refuge had been informed of the Pacific Patriot Networks intention to come to the occupation before their arrival on Saturday.

Dash-cam video: Woman lay in Florida hospital parking lot 18 minutes, later died
Source: AP
A woman who collapsed and later died after being forcibly removed from a Florida hospital lay in the parking lot beside a police officers car for nearly 18 minutes before a doctor readmitted her, according to police dash-cam audio and video released Wednesday by lawyers for her family who charge the hospital and police were negligent in her death.
On the roughly 2 ½-hour recording, an officer drives up to the hospital, enters Dawsons hospital room and tries to persuade her to leave. He says she must either go with him or go to jail, but Dawson replies that she cant breathe and shes in a panic. The officer informs Dawson that she can either receive health care elsewhere or will be arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
Dawson fell to the ground 1 to 2 feet from the patrol car while the officer reached for his keys.
For 18 minutes she lay propped against the police cruiser as the officer and nurses made multiple attempts to get her into the car. The nurses also checked her pulse. Finally a doctor came out, said her condition appeared to have changed and readmitted her.
The medical examiners office found that Dawson died from a blood clot due to being excessively overweight.

#4ThPrecinctShutdown- A Statement On Magic and Resistance
I also say spirituality intentionally, though not in terms of organized religion. But in terms of organizing around a common suffering, an approach which lends itself to a certain otherworldliness taking place in this case within North Minneapolis.
I would go as far as to say the entire nation is in a moment of magic. I say magic within two categories of the word. For white Americans, I mean it in the most exhaustingly literal of terms. A Black boy vanishes and white America has a moment of immediate awe! They cant believe it! Where did the black boy go? The cop, the magician in this ritual, knows what a person in his trade would know about fooling the audience. Tragically unsurprised, however, black people living in this country know where every mirror, every smoke canister and every trap door is placed. This is what I mean by magic centered in white America.
However, for black America I am talking about an unflinching people who, through remarkable odds, hold fast to their own moral court of law while getting maced to being shot with rubber bullets repeatedly. Enduring the terrorism of white supremacists coming to this sacred place, filming themselves and harassing peaceful community members. Witnessing those same white supremacists shoot bullets into a crowd of forty plus, and still manage to remember their historical vocation to non-violence.

What Do the Bundy Brothers Have Against Wildlife?
The Bundy boys want the refuge shut down foreverproposing that the federal government relinquish such control of federal lands as part of a broader assault on the very idea that the people of the United States might protect and preserve pristine areas.
Condemnations of federal land management have long been voiced not just by the extreme right but by conservative politicians and media outlets that object both to land management policies and to serious protection of wetlands and wildlife.
Malheur National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt [a Republican] to protect the vast populations of waterbirds that were being decimated by wanton killing by the plume trade, explains the Audubon Society of Portland. The 188,000 acre refuge represents some of the most important bird habitat on the Pacific Flyway. It is one of the crown jewels of the National Wildlife Refuge System and belongs to all Americans.

What's Happening in Oregon Is Nothing Less Than Armed Sedition
You have to give Captain Daniel Shays this: When he launched his armed sedition against lawful authority, he at least was invited in.
Overnight on Saturday, in an obscure corner of the Oregon wilderness, and contrary to the law, and in defiance of democratic authority, both federal and local, another act of armed sedition was committed. It seems to me that this ought to be a bigger story than, say, the belated prosecution of Bill Cosby, or whatever most recently came out of the mouth of the vulgar talking yam.
In a small place in Oregon, the essential compact of the United States of America has come apart.
This is an act of armed sedition against lawful authority. That is all that it is, and that is quite enough. This is not "an expression of anti-government sentiment." Flipping off the governor as he drives by is "an expression of anti-government sentiment." What Alex Jones does every day is "an expression of anti-government sentiment," and god bless them all for it. That's what the Founders had in mind.
This is not an "occupation" following "a peaceful protest." That would be all those folks who got bludgeoned and pepper-sprayed out of Zuccotti Park a couple of years back. (And when exactly did ABC News decide it wasn't a news organization anymore?) These are men with guns who have declared themselves outside the law. These are men with guns who have taken something that belongs to all of us. These are traitors and thieves who got away with this dangerous nonsense once, and have been encouraged to get away with it again, and they draw their inspiration not solely from the wilder fringes of our politics, either. Ammon Bundy and his brothers should have been thrown in jail after they gathered themselves in rebellion the first time.
