as she tried to hold him (and all Muslims) responsible for the attacks.
first she read Obama's statement that "Muslim leaders must do more to prevent extremism" and asked him, Is Obama talking to you?
he was totally unwilling to take on any guilt.
No reason why he should.
A couple of times he mentioned the Planned Parenthood shooter.
and he talked about unrest and destabilization in Iraq and Syria,
and injustice!
and we must get to the roots of terrorism.
He said they were mourning today as Americans, not as Muslims.

Even while we try to understand one, another happens.

I feel like we are all collectively holding our breaths while we wait for the next one...

If they included family shootings in these statistics, the numbers would be astronomical
Family shootings in the US occur more than once every day.
We don't hear about them.
I wonder how often they occur in other countries.
I know that I will read a lot of pertinent and helpful analysis in the sources I trust and follow in the coming days/weeks/months about this shooting,
I wish as much attention was given to family shootings-
besides the obvious issue of guns,
I believe these family shootings reveal a lot about the disintegration of American society.

On Wednesday morning, Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, left their 6-month-old daughter with Mr. Farook’s mother, telling her they were going out for a doctor’s appointment, a relative said.
By nightfall, it was clear that was a ruse, as the police said the couple spent the day carrying out a rampage at a social services center that killed at least 14 people before leading officers on a sprawling chase that ended with the two dead in a bloody gunfight in a suburban neighborhood.
Before the attack, Mr. Farook, 28, who was born in Illinois and whose parents are from Pakistan, joined colleagues at an annual holiday party for the San Bernardino County Public Health Department, where he worked for five years as an environmental inspector, officials said. He had attended the same party the year before, and he did not appear out of place.
Soon, however, he stormed out in anger. The nature of the dispute was not clear, but when he returned with his wife, 27, both of them were dressed in tactical gear and carrying assault rifles, officials said. That level of preparation is among the factors investigators are weighing as they examine a motive for the attack.

Daily Beast: Suspect ID'd in San Bernardino Massacre as Syed Farook
Law enforcement officials have identified Syed Farook as one of the suspected shooters who attacked a center for the disabled in San Bernardino, California, according to NBC News. The Daily Beast has learned that the police have just executed a search warrant at a Redlands, California address—an address that belongs to Farook’s family.
An eyewitness at the Inland Regional Center, where gunmen killed 14 and wounded at least 18 more, told police he saw a man leaving a meeting of county employees this morning, looking nervous. Poice officers named Syed Farook as that man in their radio communications. At approximately 11 a.m., at least two people entered the center and opened fire.
Farook, who also went by his middle name, Raheel, was a business taxes representative for the California State Board of Equalization, according to his LinkedIn profile.

200 Climate Change Activists Storm Australian Parliament

"Over 100 protesters forced their way into Canberra's Parliament House in protest at the government's climate change policies.
Around 200 demonstrators participated in a sit-in protest at Australia's Parliament House Wednesday, urging the Turnbull government to take increased action against climate change.
The activists were dragged from the marble foyer by police after refusing to leave when asked. They held banners saying “Put people ahead of polluters” and chanted, "The whole world is watching."

There Have Been More Mass Shootings Than Days in 2015
San Bernardino was the second mass shooting today.
2015 is almost over. 334 days have passed, and yet, there have been 351 mass shootings — an average of more than one mass shooting per day this year.
Today’s deadly mass shooting in San Bernardino isn’t even the only one that happened today: Early this morning, one person was killed and several more were injured in a mass shooting in Savannah, Georgia. Earlier today, someone was shot and killed outside of a health clinic in Houston, Texas. And just 10 miles from the San Bernardino health clinic in which dozens were shot, there were reports of shots fired near a Target store.

Darkening the White Heart of the Climate Movement
The Wretched of the Earth are a collective of over a dozen grassroots Indigenous, black and brown organizations representing diaspora from the Global South. Over the past few months, we have fought tooth and nail to lead last weekend’s London climate march alongside Indigenous delegates from frontline communities on their way to the Paris climate summit. We know that our presence was only allowed so the NGOs could comfortably check the ‘diversity’ tick-box. While we knew it would not be an easy space to be in, the violence and hostility we faced on Sunday was worse than we expected. -
NGOs summoned the police on our black and brown bodies. Re-read that last sentence. Suggesting that our symbolic coffins – calling out BP and BHP Billington for the blood on their hands – were health and safety hazards, they attempted to remove them. Our placards placing British Imperialism in the framework of Climate Injustice were radioed in to be taken down, as they ‘didn’t fit the message of the day’.
They tried to recapture the front of the march by stopping it in the middle of central London and moving their banner back. They then slowed down the rest of the marchers that followed us, effectively separating us off. But we stood our ground, together. We write our own rules. -
