Ted Cruz gets what he wanted after all!

A whole LOT of publicity for Ted Cruz. I'm beginning to think that has been his main purpose all this time.

Putin says he may seek 4th Presidential term

Source: AP

VALDAI, Russia (AP) — President Vladimir Putin said Thursday he may run for a fourth presidential term in 2018, confirming the expectations of most Russians and frustrating those now working to restore free elections in Russia.

If Putin runs and wins, it would keep him in power for about a quarter century and make him the nation's longest-serving leader since Soviet dictator Josef Stalin.

At least he'll be in good company. Although some here on DU may think this is a GOOD thing......

Mitch McConnell's Primary Opponent Loves the Constitution So Much, He Can't Remember It

On Constitution Day, one candidate reminded us all why there is a Constitution Day. Matt Bevin, the Republican primary challenger to U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), forgot that Article Five of the U.S. Constitution is not the same as the Fifth Amendment, which is located in the Bill of Rights. Worse yet, he clearly did not know the purpose of Article Five. As he is running for office, let alone federal office, this is something he might want to consider learning.

Pat Robertson: Gays use rings to spread AIDS

Source: WPXI.com

Televangelist Pat Robertson has made some curious comments about gays, AIDS and jewelry.
While the comments were made yesterday (Tuesday), they were quickly removed from the Christian Broadcast Network's website.

You know what they do in San Francisco, some in the gay community there they want to get people so if they got [AIDS] they’ll have a ring, you shake hands, and the ring’s got a little thing where you cut your finger. Really. It’s that kind of vicious stuff, which would be the equivalent of murder.

You can't make this shit up.
Pat -- the gift of idiocy that keeps on giving.
At least CBN removed it quickly, but maybe they should think about removing HIM. An embarrassment to Christians everywhere.

Hostage kills escapee who shot deputy

Source: USA Today

An escaped convict broke into the home of a southwest Iowa couple and held them at gunpoint for several hours before one of the hostages shot and killed the intruder, police said Tuesday.

Rodney Eugene Long, 38, broke out of the Clarinda Correctional Facility about 20 miles away on Friday. He is accused of shooting Taylor County deputy Sunday night after stealing a gun in a home burglary and led police on a 40-minute chase, triggering a massive manhunt Monday in the area.

IAAF makes "gay rights" jumper repaint "rainbow" nails

Source: France24

AFP - Swedish high jumper Emma Green-Tregaro has repainted her nails after being warned by the IAAF that the rainbow colours she sported in qualification in support of gay rights were a breach of regulations.

Russian pole vault gold medallist Yelena Isinbayeva has provoked a furore at the World Athletics Championships over her outspoken anti-gay remarks, which she later tried to play down saying she was "misunderstood" and opposed to discrimination against homosexuals.

And she had called Green-Tregaro "unrespectful" to Russia after painting her nails in the colours of the rainbow flag that symbolises support for gay rights while competing in Moscow, a move that garnered acclaim elsewhere in the world.

*Great example on how to create a controversy out of nothing more than painted nails. Nice move, IAAF. Love those Swedish women too!

Held in a windowless cell for over 4 days with no contact, he had to drink his own urine. The DEA actually issued an apology which they rarely ever do.
