Agree! - Pro-choice is allowing personal choice for each person

Pro-choice is already 50%/50%

Why do these people feel that they should be able to dictate how
the other half lives when it is based on a religious belief.

Congress needs to make a law that allows people to make their own choice
as to how they want to live and not allow anyone to dictate how they want others to live.

This crap needs to stop.

I'm also, tired of religious zealots thinking that they can preach to a society
which is based on the freedom of the individual to pursue their own chosen destiny.

Live and let live...

Employee benefits are now going backward

Re: Your question on tech and work less.

I was in a group trying to identify what the future workplace would look like. I thought that the natural progression would be toward a 4 day work week - Someone said, 4 - 10hr days, no problem. I said, No, 4 - 8hr days. People went nuts. They wouldn't even entertain a discussion of the idea.

Corporate leaders have determined that the "workers" are not in a bargaining position. "You are lucky you have a job" is pounded into people's heads over and over. They have held our salaries down for the past 30 years and instead of reinvesting back inti the business they increase their own salaries and bonuses.

Now , people have come to the frightening conclusion that they need to save at a faster pace or they will never be able to retire - They will just die at their desk one day. So people take what discretionary income they have available and put it towards retirement instead of spending it - Thus the slow economic recovery.

The middle class used to spend every dime they had and then spend more on credit. Now, they don't to save for retirement - With what little they have left after all the day-to-dat expenses have increased by 25-60%. We're talking about food 30%, gas 110%, heating oil 300% (even heating oil is more expensive than gasoline and it's requires less energy to manufacture), my electric got deregulated and it jumped 65% the next year. So, people who used to have $500 discretionary income now have $100 or less.

Warren Buffet is one of the few who realizes that unless we get the middle class employed and back in the spending mood that this country will be in the crapper for a very long time.

Look at the recovery of the stock market and who did the money go to? It went to the people who already have all the money.

And all these states enacting right-to-work laws are not helping the situation. The American people are being whipped into submission to the detriment of the country.

Laughter - Best Medicine!

It's a shame when you think that there are people who are so afraid of something that makes you laugh.

They must be missing a chromosome...

It angers me when lessens learned are allowed to fall by the wayside...

Also grew up in the 50s:

My mother would mention the depression every now and then
I would ask if it could happen again and she said, no, the government made laws that will stop that from ever haoppening again.
Look at us today!

the government made laws that stopped monopolies.
Over the past 35 years I worked for a large corporation.
In the 80s they said that the larger corps. would buy out the smaller ones and we would end up with 3-4 major companies in our area
I wondered what happened to the anti-trust act?
Now look at us.

We have been sold out by our elected leaders and now it is going to take the next ten years to get things back on track again.

We are working now to stop the wealthy from gaining enough control to tip the country past the point of no return.

We have allowed the wealthy to take more than their share over the past 35 years.
It is not asking too much for them to get the economy back on track.

We need to acknowledge that the Republicants are still feeding money to the wealthy every chance they get.
and, they are stopping the banks from being devided and/or prosecuted.
We need to stop the lobbyists and the flow of pay-offs back to the members of congress who are playing the game.
special interest groups are not the American people.
WE ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

The economy will grow because of the middle class!
