spinal surgery to save his life. The surgery was a success but it cost a great deal of money (health care system sucks as we have often discussed) and we are waiting for disability to kick in. He will be out at least six weeks...been kind of down...although so relieved he will be fine eventually...so this brightened my day...I hope I can buy some hearts soon waiting for the temporary disability to kick in...hard to navigate the system. Thank you again...so nice! This is such a great site with wonderful folks...don't know what I would do without it.

The GOP are attempting to overturn an election based on at best a 35 year old picture used against Northam and a sexual assault accusation leveled against Fairfax which the Washing Post decided was not credible. My Husband was diagnosed with softening of the spine (myelomalacia)
He had a neck compression that was causing bleeding...this disease is a death sentence if not caught early. I am happy to say he had surgery last Wednesday in time and it was very successful. He will need an additional surgery on his lower back at some point (unrelated). But he will live. I have been in and out as I spent the last two weeks in the hospital...he had to wait for the surgery there because had his compression worsened he would have been paralyzed from the neck down. He had fallen several times already where he would lose all feeling in his legs. I have to say I was terrified. I started to write this even before the surgery but putting it on the computer made it seem more real somehow. Today was a good day. He was able to walk to the bathroom...ah the little things we take for granted.

Trump keeps returning to the idea of pulling the United States out of NATO.
Trump apparently wants to make Putin's NATO dreams come true by withdrawing from NATO. I have had mixed feelings on impeachment but if he moves to do that, we must start the process. And hope the Republicans when confronted with Trump's crimes will do the right thing...a gamble I know. It appears as if Trump is making policy beneficial to Russia not the United States. God knows what military secrets he has revealed to his buddy Putin. He is a Russian asset at the least and a Russian spy at the worse. He can give Putin everything he desires from our classified files. This is probably the most dangerous president in our history and he must be stopped.
I have been lukewarm on the idea of impeachment. It carried political risk. But I am coming to believe we have no choice. We must do everything we can to remove this traitor president from office.

I found a church in Cleveland-diverse. The Pastor says they lock the doors during service for
security reasons...what a world we live in. I can't imagine how any person can accept that as 'normal' It is time to band together and enact reasonable gun control (as soon as we have the Senate and Presidency) I find the status quo unacceptable.
I will join this church. It is a very loving church. They do many community based good works....just what I wanted.But who could ever imagine that going to church would become an act of courage under the monster that is Trump and his evil minions.

"Authorities were reporting multiple victims in an “active shooter” attack in the area of Mercy Hospital on the Near South Side that brought out a large police presence Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to near the hospital, 2525 S. Michigan Ave., about 3:20 p.m.
There were “Reports of multiple victims” in the attack, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a tweet.
Fire officials called an emergency medical services Plan II, sending at least 10 ambulances to the scene, because of an “active shooter” situation, a Fire Department spokesman said."

Arizona's knock-down, all-out Senate race is heading into overtime, as a neck-and-neck contest between two congresswomen collides with Arizona's sometimes glacial vote-counting procedures.
Republican Martha McSally and Democrat Kyrsten Sinema were separated by a small fraction of the votes tabulated as of early Wednesday, with hundreds of thousands of uncounted ballots still outstanding.
Though the vast majority of Arizona voters cast their ballots early by mail, those who receive early ballots but then drop them off in person at polling stations on or close to Election Day can jam up the system.
That's because the state's most populous county, Maricopa, can take days to count those ballots while they simultaneously tabulate Election Day votes.
The so-called "late earlies" may not be counted until Thursday in the county, where about 60 percent of Arizona's voters live. Arizona counties with far fewer voters may also face long delays processing those ballots.
We may yet win Arizona.
