Need A Romantic Dinner? Waffle House Accepting Valentine’s Day Dinner Reservations

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Nothing whispers romance like a candlelit dinner at – Waffle House?

That’s right. The Georgia chain is offering diners who prefer their T-Bone steak with a side of hash browns scattered, smothered and covered – a Valentine’s Day dinner.

This is the ninth year for the Waffle House Valentine’s Day Dinner event, which takes place Feb. 14, at 148 locations across the country.

More à la carte than prix fixe, the restaurant will even dress its tables with tablecloths. Whether the casual eatery will opt for paper or fine, white linen isn’t mentioned on its website. The website did however mention the following North Texas locations for you and your significant other… or not-so-significant other.

‘You reap what you sow’: CNN host tells Glenn Beck to suck it up after ‘birthing Donald Trump’

NN host Chris Cuomo suggested to conservative radio host Glenn Beck on Monday that he was partly to blame for “birthing Donald Trump” before deciding to endorse Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in an attempt to derail the New York billionaire’s campaign.

“Donald Trump, I really truly believe is a dangerous man,” Beck warned GOP voters during a CNN interview. “I’m here to talk to you about the Constitution and what I believe is an absolute right or wrong… The mood of the country is very angry but you never make a good decision when you are angry.”

Beck added that he did not mind being personally insulted by Trump, saying, “Look at me, there’s lots of jokes to be made.”

“But here’s the thing,” Cuomo pointed out. “Is there a little bit of reap what you sow in some of this with the GOP, that engendering an oppositional mode towards government, in ratcheting up negativity as a mainline discourse, you wound up somewhat birthing Donald Trump?”

If You Foster a Cat, You Can Claim it on your Taxes!

In a groundbreaking victory for animal rescuers around the country, one California animal foster fought the Internal Revenue Service in court – and won! As a result of Van Dusen v. Commissioner, animal rescuers nationwide that are fostering dogs and/or cats for approved charities may claim the expenses during tax time.

An approved charity is one that is recognized by the IRS with the 501(c)(3) designation as a Not-for-Profit organization. Fostering expenses eligible for deduction are food, medicines, veterinary bills, crates, garbage bags, and the like. Even a portion of your utilities can be considered expenses as long as a a specific area of your home is only used for the care of the animals and nothing else.

In addition to animal rescue, these tax laws apply to all volunteer expenses related to charitable work for an approved organization.

If you foster a cat (and this includes dogs, too) make sure to save any and all receipts, and, if expenses add up to over $250 for the year, obtain a letter from the charitable organization that confirms your volunteer or foster status.

Trump lead jumps to 40.6 percent: poll

Republican front-runner candidate Donald Trump has a big lead in the race for the 2016 presidential nomination nationally, swamping his opponents with a 40.6 percent share of those surveyed, a Reuters-Ipsos tracking poll found on Friday.

The survey of 582 respondents found Trump with a higher percentage of the vote than his next four challengers combined, with Texas Senator Ted Cruz drawing 10.5 percent, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson with 9.7 percent, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush at 9.2 percent and Florida Senator Marco Rubio with 7.2 percent.

In a hypothetical matchup between Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton and Trump, Clinton holds a statistically insignificant lead of 41.4 percent to 40.8 percent.

Trump has been leading national polls of Republican voters for months. He also holds a lead in some polls in the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire with the Iowa caucuses just days away on Feb. 1.

Danny DeVito gets into detail about his endorsement of Bernie Sanders: "Enough of this Crap!!"

The Daily Beast has an article on Danny DeVito where he talks about his new role and his wild times with George Clooney. He also talks about how he is Feeling the Bern” in a massive way and thinks Donald Trump is “disgusting”.
Check out the article, Danny is funny and oh so passionate about Bernie:
“I’m into Bernie Sanders. I think Bernie Sanders is somebody that we really have to focus on—especially now,” he says. “Whether or not the money buys the other contenders, we still have to stay together on Bernie because Bernie’s got the goods.

He really knows what he’s talking about and he’s got all the issues down. He gets all these little donations because he doesn’t want to be beholden to anybody. Bernie will give us the best shot at getting equality for men and women, African Americans, and all people of color; he’ll give us the best shot at healthcare; he’ll give us the best shot at the international situation so that we don’t start blowing things up, and to try to pull back a bit on the Imperialism. We need to pull back on it. We can’t keep dealing with regime change and all this shit! You guys—the young people—have to look at this and say, ‘Enough of this crap!’”

He adds, “I think a lot of people are starting to Feel the Bern—that’s a funny saying, but people are starting to feel the heat and the responsibility that we all have to at least give the planet a shot. We want to try to keep the Earth in a stable position for our grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”
TOT: totally off topic: but priceless

State Department seeks 1-month extension on Clinton emails

(might screw up her chances at the Primaries if they released it sooner)

WASHINGTON — The State Department asked a federal court Friday for a one-month extension to publish the last of Hillary Clinton’s emails during her time as secretary of state, citing a complex review of some messages across different agencies of the government.

State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the department wouldn’t be able to meet its court-mandated goal of Jan. 29. About 9,400 of 55,000 pages are left, but Toner said those remaining “contain a large amount of material that required interagency review.”

The department will make public as many as possible next week, he said, but is asking for the final deadline to be pushed back until Feb. 29.

“State Department staff have been working extremely hard to process these emails, and we are committed to getting them out,” Toner said. “The court’s goal for this month’s production represented the largest number of pages to date. The remaining emails are also the most complex to process.”

Hillary Clinton Defends Speaking Fees Paid by Wall Street Firms

Hillary Clinton defended her paid speeches to Wall Street firms, rejecting the idea that the millions of dollars she earned in fees would sway her views on financial firms.

On the heels of repeated attacks from Senator Bernie Sanders, who has seized on the fees to portray Mrs. Clinton as out of touch with ordinary Iowans and other voters, Mrs. Clinton gave an interview this week in Iowa to The Des Moines Register, saying she had no regrets. “Anybody who thinks they can buy me doesn’t know me,” Mrs. Clinton said, in the article published Friday.

She described her paid speaking — which spanned events for financial firms and a number of other trade associations and businesses, which typically paid fees of around $225,000 per speech — as a chance for business leaders to hear about her views on world events.

“What they were interested in were my views on what was going on in the world,” Mrs. Clinton said. “And whether you’re in health care, or you sell automobiles, or you’re in banking – there’s a lot of interest in getting advice and views about what you think is happening in the world.”
