I have to turn him off

MSNBC is playing clips of Leslie Stahl's interview with Trump. I just had to turn it off. I don't hate myself enough to subject myself to his ever so obvious stupidity, venal corrupt immorality, and whatever other synonym adjectives for degenerate are in the dictionary.

Why does anyone listen to that? If you are even a half-decent or half-intelligent person, don't you feel that your credulity is over-taxed and your intelligence insulted? I do. I just can't listen to his lies and the made-upm shit that he pulls lout of his butt and sets on a velvet pillow for all to admire.

I refuse to allow him to make me hate him. So I just turn him off.

House Bill 610 will destroy special needs programs in schools

It starts the defunding process of public schools.

Important!! This is happening while Trump is trying to distract us. Pay close attention to House Bill 610 when voting during the midterm elections (this dismantles gifted programs, school nutrition standards, special needs support, disability support, and all the jobs that go along with these wonderful things in the public school systems):
The school voucher system proposed by Education secretary Betsy DeVos does not mean you can choose any school you want your kid to go to. It means the public education program will be dismantled.
If your child has an IEP (individual education plan for students with special needs), kiss it goodbye.
If you have a job in special-education, if you're a special education teacher, physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, a para, a teacher's aid, or an ESL (English as a second language) teacher, you'll go first.
House Bill 610 makes some large changes. Inform yourselves. This bill will effectively start the school voucher system to be used by children ages 5-17 and starts the defunding process of public schools. The bill will eliminate the Elementary and Education Act of 1965, which is the nation's educational law that provides equal opportunity in education. ESSA is a big comprehensive program that covers programs for struggling learners, advanced and gifted kids in AP classes, ESL classes, classes for minorities such as Native Americans, Rural Education, Education for the Homeless, School Safety (Gun-Free schools), Monitoring and Compliance, and Federal Accountability Programs.

The Bill also abolishes the Nutritional Act of 2012 (No Hungry Kids Act) which provides nutritional standards in school breakfast and lunch.
The bill has no wording whatsoever protecting Special Needs kids, no mention of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), and FAPE (Free Appropriate Public Education). Some things ESSA does for Children with Disabilities:
-Ensures access to the general education curriculum.
-Ensures access to accommodations on assessments.
-Ensures concepts of Universal Design for Learning.
-Includes provisions that require local education agencies to provide evidence-based interventions in schools with consistently underperforming subgroups.
-Requires states in Title I plans to address how they will improve conditions for learning including reducing incidents of bullying and harassment in schools, overuse of discipline practices and reduce the use of aversive behavioral interventions (such as restraints and seclusion).
Please call your representative and ask him/her to vote NO on House Bill 610 (HR 610).

Our system of gov is broken

It may take a few constitutional amendments to fix it. My list includes

* Dump the electoral college. There should be a simple majority vote to elect the POTUS and VPOTUS
* Get the dark money out of politics. No more PACs. Everyone, including corporations, are limited to a max of $2500 per candidate.
* Supreme court justices to serve a finite number of years (12?).
* Term limits on congressmen and senators. Max of 3 terms per senator, and 4 terms per congressman.
* Fix the 2nd amendment. Congress can legislate sensible laws to regulate gun ownership.
* Fix the voting rights act, including restoring voting rights to ex-felons, who have served their time and completed other penalties and fines.

I blame it on piss-poor sex education

BK went thru a catholic education. Can you imagine what kind of sex education he and his prep school buddies got? Sex outside marriage taught as dirty and sinful. Masturbation as also sinful. Female sexuality and the nitty-gritty details of conception and the truth about how various contraceptive methods work not taught. The facts about what STDs do to the human body. And most importantly, respect for women. But it's not just the Catholic church. It's also the puritanical Evangelicals, who fear that real and thorough sex education for children leads to promiscuity.

It just all seems so stupid, especially when kids can easily access every form of pornography on their computers.

I am so tired of these dirty hateful stupid Republicans

Dare I say the word "evil." I have had to limit my exposure to the Kavanaugh stuff as woman after woman has come forward with her story of sex abuse by him. And now today, I learn that the EPA is eliminating the office of its science advisor. I swear that GOP has come to mean the Greedy Oppression Party. And the lies and corruption just never ends with these people. That dreadful sham that McConnell and Grassley ran to force BK thru without even a semblance of fairness, integrity, and due diligence was the last straw for me. How people can align themselves with that filthy bunch is a complete mystery to me. I simply don't get it. And that's not even taking Trump into consideration. He's a whole extra level of degeneracy and stupidity. Capitalism has completely failed us. Thanks for letting me vent.
