Give big political speech on Tuesday. Some Americans applaud, others jeer.

Football game on Sunday and Monday all's forgotten. Thank you beer.

Who do you think will win the Super Bowl? (Poll)

We all know the makers of beer and party food are the real winners this weekend but who do DU'ers think will win the "big game" this weekend?
Denver?
Seattle?

Is it me or there a corollary between Chuck Todd's receding credibility and hairline?

As his credibility and fairness faded away so did his hair?
I call it a karma balance.

Like Pinocchio, with hair, but in reverse.
The more he lies the less he gets to keep.

MSNBCwhere my hair went?

The party that is arguing religious freedom over birth control also fights to keep mosques out of

their towns in Tennessee and other places.
So religious freedom is just another term converted for hypocritical use by the GOP..

MSNBC is screwing up Alex Wagner's new show in the same way they did Chris Hayes.

I get it MSNBC you like talking heads.
You like solo interviews with "newsmakers" ie politicians, after lunch and in the evening.

But this is the 2nd time Now.
You have taken another host who is smart and personable, that gets successful on your network with a show based on a round table discussion with a variety of guests and "promoted" them into a boring solo talking head show.

I loved Up with Chris Hayes on the weekends but the new format does not entice me or many of those veiwers.
The same goes for the new NOW with Alex Wagner.

It's a format that works for Matthews, Rachel and O'Donnell but Hayes and Wagner can do more with the time you you have given them and as one of their fans that's what I expect.
But you are not letting them be the anchor that made me a fan of theirs in the first place!
And this is the 2nd time MSNBC so that means it's totally you, not me.

If you allow Alex and Chris to spread their wings like they have done in the past I'll fly along but now I'm just going to leave the TV off during the day again.

The current Supreme Court is a joke.

The rank hypocrisy of the current court is over the top.
They will not protect businesses like Planned Parenthood that have employees and patients assaulted and killed with a safe zone but the SCOTUS has a bigger one so fuck you citizens.

Also Justice Scalia says female patients have no rights if a right-wing Christian wants to "counsel" or harass them for getting an abortion.

The thing I don't believe about Christie's bridge scandal....

Is the "why?"
Why would a GOP Gov expect, ask for or want the endorsement of a Democratic Mayor?
It's the thing I haven't believed from the start.
There's got to be another reason but I'll be damned if I know why.

My new nickname for Chris Christie is Governor Biff. So if you're a Back To The Future fan....

Where's a George McFly when we need him.

Enjoy your scandal Gov. Biff.

5 Sad Ways A&E Became the Walmart of Television Networks

When it comes to things that used to be great but slowly became terrible, cable television network A&E doesn't even make the list. That's because there was nothing slow about their transformation from useful to useless. It practically happened overnight.

For the longest time, they were the network that aired two episodes of Biography every day while also delivering original, scripted programming that skewed toward a more history-minded demographic, like the audience you might expect a show like Downton Abbey to attract today, for example.

You sure as shit don't think of highfalutin Brits when someone mentions the "Arts & Entertainment" network these days, right? A management change in 2002 saw the network undergo a dramatic makeover. The "smart" stuff like Biography and anything history related that didn't involve gambling addicts pawning their possessions got transplanted to the Biography Channel and History Channel, respectively (and appropriately, I suppose). Meanwhile, A&E began focusing almost exclusively on lowbrow fare like Dog the Bounty Hunter and Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

That's the abbreviated story of how the cable network America used to rely on for its "intellectual" programming became the same one that currently finds itself at the heart of the Duck Dynasty controversy. Oh, hey! The debacle surrounding that show in particular is something I discuss at length with my Cracked co-workers Randall Maynard and Kristi Harrison, along with special guest comic Josh Denny, on this week's Unpopular Opinion podcast, which you can listen to right here if you're so inclined ...

About ZonkerHarris

Nixon was a fucking crook. As a teenager I marched on the UN in 1982 with a million other people demanding we get rid of the threat of nuclear weapons hanging over our heads. Since then I've worked to get Democrats elected like John Aristotle Phillips, known as the A-Bomb Kid when he ran for Congress against Stuart McKinney in CT in the 80's (we lost twice) through the Obama campaign in 2008 and 2012. I want to legalize cannabis, reform our prison for profit system, cut our military budget, get out of Afghanistan and push solar energy panels into every building in the USA.
