Jimmy Kimmel Tests Positive for COVID Again, Taps John Mulaney and Andy Samberg to Host Live!

Jimmy Kimmel has tested positive for COVID-19 again.

Not long after recovering from his early May diagnosis, Kimmel revealed on Twitter Tuesday that he's once again testing positive. Because of this, he is tapping John Mulaney and Andy Samberg to guest host Jimmy Kimmel Live! in his place.

"I'm such a positive person, I tested positive AGAIN. I am feeling fine," he said. "The great John @Mulaney & Andy Samberg @TheLonelyIsland have graciously agreed to host @JimmyKimmelLive for me tomorrow."

Kimmel, 54, disclosed his initial COVID-19 diagnosis on Twitter and Instagram on May 2. At the time, he said comedian Mike Birbiglia would host in his absence.

"Our daughter brought us covid (even though we specifically asked her not to)," Kimmel joked.

Feds: National Guard members on state duty can join unions

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — The Department of Justice has given the green light to National Guard members on active duty for their states to join labor unions, despite a U.S. law that makes it a felony for military personnel on active federal duty to unionize.

The department on Tuesday settled a federal lawsuit filed in Connecticut by labor unions, having conceded the federal ban does not stop Connecticut National Guard members on state duty ordered by the governor from seeking collective bargaining rights. Both sides agreed to a dismissal of the case.

Already, the case has prompted some National Guard members in Texas to unionize.

A 1978 federal law makes it a criminal felony for members of the armed forces, including the National Guard, to join or attempt to form a labor organization.

Russia State TV Stands by Nuclear Threat: Ireland as 'Collateral Damage'

On Sunday, a Russian state TV host refused to apologize for recently broadcasting a graphic that showed Ireland being destroyed during a simulated nuclear attack and instead referred to the country as "collateral damage" in a potential conflict.

Micheál Martin, Ireland's taoiseach or prime minister, had called on Russia-1 host Dmitry Kiselyov to apologize for airing an animated graphic on May 1 that depicted a strike off Ireland's coast that annihilated both Ireland and Britain. Kiselyov instead said an apology should come from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson for what the Russian host claimed was a "groundless threat" made against Russia by the British leader.

Kiselyov also brushed off the outrage from Martin and the Irish public.

"Ireland literally flew into a rage. Of course as a neutral country, it wasn't nice for Ireland to become collateral damage in Britain's clash with Russia," Kiselyov said on his program, according to The Irish Times.
