CNN host Anderson Cooper put Ohio Representative Jim Jordan in the hot seat Monday night, grilling the conservative lawmaker on the topic of whether he'd ever heard President Donald Trump lie. After trying to deflect the question, Jordan eventually shook his head and said, "I have not."

"I've never heard the president... He's always been square with me, that's for darn sure," Jordan said when asked if he'd heard Trump make false claims. When Cooper pressed the lawmaker on whether Trump had said untrue things to the public, Jordan attempted to deflect the question, hesitating over his answer, and then said, "I don't know of it. Nothing comes to mind."

Cooper then brought up the widely circulated compendium of the president's lies, published by The Washington Post. Jordan said he had not seen the article.

The two had been involved in a discussion about Former FBI Director James Comey when the exchange took place, specifically referring to Comey's claim that Trump is a "serial liar" who is "morally unfit" to be president. Jordan didn't hesitate to call Andrew McCabe, former deputy director of the FBI, a liar.

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected a Trump administration appeal aimed at ending deportation protections for young undocumented immigrants, steering clear for now of the debate over the fate of hundreds of thousands of people.

The justices turned away the administrations appeal of a ruling that has kept the Obama-era program in place. The rejection buys time for the so-called dreamers even as Congress has been unable to agree on legislation to give them permanent protection.

Orr: I stayed up oftentimes into the early morning hours, and started to notice at 2, 3 and 4 a.m., patterns of Twitter activity that were just weird.

I had a baseline understanding of what normal activity looked like, what automated or bot activity looks like, and what heavy traffic looks like. Hashtags appearing out of nowhere at three in the morning are not normal unless there’s breaking news.

The activity pattern was very abnormal. Beyond the time factor of being 3 a.m., these tweets were being pushed in waves. You’d see these big spikes in activity where a bunch of tweets will come out all at once and then it drops back off.

This pattern was not organic — it was not people sitting at their computers deciding all at once to tweet about media lies. A couple of the tweets were geo-tagged to Macedonia, which was known to host these fake news farms.

I’d tell him that I used to be a pilot in the Presidential Wing at Andrews and that my flying career led me to shake hands with and fly six US Presidents but that of all of them I am absolutely THRILLED to shake hands with my seventh one because he’s the one I admire the most.

I’d say I really miss having him as POTUS. Really. Really. Really. Miss him and the class that he brought to our whole country.

The Secret Service has vacated its command post inside Trump Tower in Manhattan following a dispute between the government and President Trump’s company over the terms of a lease for the space, according to two people familiar with the discussions.

Previously, the Secret Service had stationed its command post — which houses supervisors and backup agents on standby in case of an emergency — in a Trump Tower unit one floor below the president’s apartment.

But in early July, the post was relocated to a trailer on the sidewalk, more than 50 floors below, a distance that some security experts worry could hamper the agency that protects the president’s home and family.

The command post appears unlikely to move anytime soon back inside Trump Tower, where the president and his family have rarely gone since moving to the White House.

Officials say at least 50 prisoners a day are executed, some in mass hangings, at the notorious Sednaya military prison outside of Damascus. And the officals accused Russia and Iran of complicity in “these atrocities.” The U.S. released aerial photos of the facility and said its information came from “intelligence assessments” as well as human rights groups.
