how would the gun control debate be different if the shooter had been a radical muslim carrying out

jihad? I mean someone who had the pedigree: home to Pakistan and trained, etc. And also bought his guns legally here like Holmes did.

the most important numbers are

The economy and understands problems Americans face. This race will be close in the popular vote. Maybe not so much the electoral college. Obama will win both but the latter by a wider spread than the former.

That's my prediction.

i dont have a team

when its:

all guns must be banned

vs.

the right tote around the firepower of a platoon of marines

and nobody will budge, they see one another as "tramplers of rights" or "fetishists".

fear and loathing seem to drive a lot of the gun control conversation on both sides

neither wants to give an inch, neither seems willing to listen (or for that matter talk rationally) to the other side. both ascribe the worst possible motives to the other.

Sad really.

the other side of boycotts

There is a mighty long list of products and eateries that might give many of pause if we knew where and how they spend their money, from environmental destruction to anti-equal rights causes to ALEC contributions to support for right-wing candidates. What I would like to see is a list of day to day household products and chain restaurants that do not support obnoxious efforts. I always try to buy local but that obviously not an option when it comes to many household items. I can buy them in a locally owned store but they are going to be products made by a giant corporation. So does anybody have a list of products made by socially responsible corporations? Stuff I can find in a small town?

the second amendment and "arms"

I do believe the second amendment grants an individual right to gun ownership. however it never mentions guns. It says "arms". so to interpret that literally and absolutely, I would have the right to a thermonuclear device and intercontinental ballistic missiles. Nobody believes that. Therefore even the most staunch firearms enthusiast/gun nut has to admit the government has a legitimate interest and therefore the power to "well regulate" what arms are kept by whom.

Having said.all of that, why is it not.reasonable to prohibit 100 round drum magazines?

Boycott Dark Knight?

The writer says he's a staunch conservative and compared romney to batman and ows to the villian bane.

Edited to say this is a question, not a call to boycott.
