I know what the GOP acronym really means.

Guardians Of Plutocracy.

Go, Greece! A run on the banks is in progress in Greece.

The plutocracy will take a whale of a hit from this. Combined with the rise of the barter economy this could completely destroy their power in Greece.

Edited to add: Greece is in for some very hard times. But they won't be nearly as hard as a life of permanent serfdom under Germany's austerity plans. Hopefully this will mean Greece will drop the Euro, and inflate away their debt like SEVERAL other nations have successfully done in the past - such as the United States after World War II. They could also look to Iceland or Argentina for other solutions.

Whatever you do, Greece, DO NOT SURRENDER TO AUSTERITY. It's a dark hole of total ruin that you'll never get out of.

Is This What a Run on Greek Banks Looks Like?

Zero Hedge blogger Tyler Durden fears the worst as he passes along pictures of ATM lines in Greece. "A Greek banking system which is now virtually shut out of any extrenal funding except for the ELA, where it has a few billions euros in access left, will be unable to deal with hundreds of millions in deposit outflows," he writes. "This may be the beginning of the end for Greece, just as Buiter and later JPM warned over the weekend." Similarly, Z6Mag editor Allan Soldner says the withdrawals this week show the first sings of a run, noting yesterday that the Dow, S&P and Nasdaq all ended down, along with the precious metals market. "ATM lines are often the hysteria that starts the ball rolling even worse in any bank run because people walking by start asking if they should be doing the same."

American jobs for Americans. It's either that or unemployment.

Which would the anti-American worker crowd want? Americans employed, or unemployed?

If you feel that "American jobs for Americans" is wrong then the only other choice you have is to advocate Americans be out of work.

And how will a bunch of unemployed Americans be able to support the world's poor?

Whoever believes "American jobs for Americans" is racist should give up their jobs now

and make sure someone from outside the country gets it.

Agree or disagree?

Okay so why was this hidden? I must have missed something.

I see an attack on Timothy Geithner and his lying about his taxes. What made this worthy of being deemed "disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate"?

Just in case I get the itch to criticize tax cheats who happen to be a Democrat or working for Democrats... is merely criticizing this person worthy of being hidden???

Thank you, men and women of America, for responding to the GOP's war on women!

The Presidential election projections now say President Obama is likely to win 294 electoral votes versus Romney's 170.

http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/romney-vs-obama-electoral-map

This is clearly looking to turn into a STOMP by the President, and we have the GOP's war on women to blame.

However we've got a looooooooong way to go. These results aren't guaranteed and could even reverse themselves by November. Romney is a good 170 electoral votes stronger than he should be at all. And then there's Congress to take back, too.

Zero for Romney in 2012. Zero GOPers in Congress. I know we can't achieve that goal but let's push as hard as we can!

Should President Obama be asked by Democrats to pardon Marissa Alexander?

He can legally pardon her, can he not?

Marissa Alexander is the woman who was convicted and sentenced to 20 years for firing a warning shot at her abusive ex-husband in Florida. She was denied a defense under the "Stand Your Ground" law.

If there is not an all-out rebellion by LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC men AND women in Arizona

then I don't know what the fuck is wrong with humanity.

There should be general strikes, and an all-out protest going on by Monday. There should be an all-out insurrection that forces the cops to arrest them down to the last woman.

I'll be back on Monday to see whether this has happened.

What the fuck has happened to America's spine?

Edited: I'm talking about this... "Brewer Signs Legislation Permitting Employers to Interrogate Female Employees About Contraception"

Edited again: Changed the topic - men need to rebel, too.

This video seems to say that China is handling population issues in all the wrong ways.

The implication here is that a better child survival rate, a direct result of prosperity, is the key to natural and voluntary population control.

I'm always on the hunt for new excuses for acts of bigotry!

So today let's see what creative justifications we can come up with for this outright slam on all religions:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=667586

I'll put the first entries on the wheel of excuses:
1) It wasn't a slam on all religions. Even though it's a thread by someone praising &quot implied: all) religion flies you into buildings"

2) Religious people suck. Religion should be a TOS offense, dammit!

3) Oh don't take it seriously. Just because you're religious and you've been blanketly accused of encouraging people to fly airplanes into buildings doesn't mean you need to take it all that hard!

4) Didn't you know, it was sarcasm/satire!

5) Religion destroyed my life, so ALL religion is bad!

Did I miss anything?
