ERCOT manages the flow of electric power in Texas and is responsible for ensuring the one independent power grid in the country is up and running as it should. And in a historic and life-threatening cold snap, it's still unknown when millions will get the heat back on in their homes.
ERCOT Chair Sally Talberg lives in Michigan and served on the Michigan Public Service Commission until 2020, according to her ERCOT biography. She was elected to the board earlier this month.

Vice Chair Peter Cramton is a professor at the University of Cologne in Germany and the University of Maryland. According to his LinkedIn page, he lives in Del Mar, California. Cramton has served on the board since 2015.
ERCOT, which manages the flow of electric power in Texas, initiated rolling blackouts early Monday morning. However, the blackouts quickly became serious as millions of Texans lost power for hours in frigid temperatures. As of Tuesday morning, more than 1.37 million people were still without power in Houston, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Listen up: I hear so many reports of Antifa was storming the capital [sic] building. Know that every single person who believes that narrative have been DUPED AGAIN! wrote Ryan Nichols, who was charged alongside his fellow insurrectionist Alex Harkrider. Sure, there may have been some Antifa in DC, but there wasnt enough to Storm the Capital [sic] themselves.
Okay all you conspiracy theorists 😜 dont worry I loves yous all just setting the record straight, wrote Karl Dresch. antifa did not take the capitol.that was Patriots, I cant guarantee there werent some shit birds in the crowd but what multi-million crowd can you guarantee?.dont give them the thunder, we the people took back our house, the news is all bullshit.and now those traitors Know whos really in charge.
It was not Antifa at the Capitol, wrote Brandon Straka, a Stop the Steal organizer with ties to Trump who was charged last month. It was freedom loving Patriots who were DESPERATE to fight for the final hope of our Republic because literally nobody cares about them. Everyone else can denounce them. I will not.

Donald Trump has reportedly voiced concern over the possibility of facing charges in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot which claimed five lives.
Even though Mitch McConnell voted to acquit the former president in the impeachment trial, the Senate Republican leader said Mr Trump was "practically and morally responsible" for what happened.

Mr Trump was not at risk of criminal prosecution while he was in the White House. But legal experts have argued that the exemption no longer applies once he has left office.
Despite speculation that he would seek to pre-emptively pardon himself before the end of his presidential term, Mr Trump did not do so.

Investigators collected items that were left behind including cigar butts and sent those items off for DNA testing, which authorities say they matched with Brian Montalvo Tolentino, 43, of Davenport, Florida.
Lake [County] detectives then met with and interviewed Tolentino, during which he confessed to going to the cemetery with another individual, 39-year-old Juan Burgos-Lopez
and committing the crimes, said Lake County Sheriffs Office in a statement released on Jan. 7 after contacting the Polk County Sheriffs Office whose detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspects. Tolentino stated that Lopez used a crowbar to open the vaults and then removed the heads of the deceased. He stated they removed four heads from the four graves and then returned to Lopezs residence. He stated the heads were taken for religious practices.

According to the Polk County Sheriffs Office, the suspects told detectives that they were using the human remains in their religious practice called Palo Mayombe -- a religion that developed in during the slavery era in Cuba among enslaved African people and their descendants, according to Lonely Planet -- and that they robbed graves of veterans because they needed remains from those who have done something heroic.

During the search, detectives located a total of six skulls, a hand, partial arm, and multiple other large bones within what appeared to be some sort of religious shrine, the Lake County Sheriffs Office said in a statement. Lopez identified four skulls as being those obtained from the Edgewood Cemetery and stated the other two skulls were obtained from other practitioners. He also had an additional skull that he claimed was fake.
