What I learned at the Red Lake school shooting

We may need to arm schools, at least for now. We need to control the deadliest weapons. And we need to hunt down the next mass killer before he starts shooting.
It is with trepidation that I write this. I seem lately to have a foot in two diametrically opposed worlds, each populated by people vociferous in their positions and dismissive of those with whom they disagree.

I'm disheartened by the invective hurled about in the wake of the Connecticut atrocity committed by a disturbed young man. I fear that in the justifiably horrified revulsion to the Sandy Hook massacre all pretense of civility will be abandoned, the polarization of this country will continue, and we will lose what I consider an essential right enjoyed by all Americans.

It is a long read written by the FBI agent who has initial command after the 2005 shooting. I put forth that it is worth the time to read his opinions on stopping mass shootings. Everyone will likely disagree with one or more of his proposals, yet it is an open assessment of the problem and what may reduce these shootings.

So the Myans were right

-Plan "B" Fails
-A Dem President is willing to cut SS
-the NRA will create an armed force to guard schools
-weathers shuts down a large area of the county--again
-Syria is dropping cluster bombs and launching SCUDs at its own people

It is the end of the world. They just didn't tell us it would be a slow death

My brother asked a question I have not seen in the media...

With the Mayan end of the world less than a week away, is this recent spate of extra-senseless violence due to nihilists and those who buy into such looking to go out in a big way?

Or is it people trying to out do each other? I think it was ABC had a Top 5 School Shootings graphic... seriously are we going to start ranking them??

George Zimmerman Sues NBC for Portraying Him as a 'Racist and Predatory Villain'

I can accept that he deserves a fair trial, but really?

George Zimmerman, the man facing second-degree murder charges in one of the most racially charged and controversial cases in recent memory is seeking damages against NBC for portraying him as a "racist and predatory villain."

The suit, filed this afternoon, claims, "NBC saw the death of Trayvon Martin not as a tragedy, but as an opportunity to increase ratings."
