Well we made possession of heroin, meth and cocaine

a misdemeanor in CA last night.

We here on DU do not represent Americans.

That should be obvious this morning.
Seems to me we live on an island here.
For all our telling ourselves how much more intelligent we are compared to the rest of America, it didn't help anything yesterday.
Reality sinks in now.
We can't make it go away.
For me I will turn to some of the good things that still exist. A walk along the beach. A long motorcycle ride. Some good music.
And I will remain possitive thinking there is a better time coming.

My wife and my mother-in-law who lives with us voted

but neither of them know the results tonight. They don't pay attention to politics. They watched reality TV tonight.
Ignorance is bliss I guess.

Well I hope I don't have to hear Obama

say he will work with repukes to get things done. If he does I'll just look to 2016 and ignore him.

So now that we have nothing more to lose

how about taking our party on a hard turn to the left. Let's come up with every progressive idea we can and put together a liberal platform for 2016.
Never compromise with the devil

Is anyone on the MSM talking about a large turnout?

I'm reading here there are large turnouts and that is good for us. All week they were saying on the MSM that turnout is the key to victory. At some point that rubs against the meme that Dem's are losers.
I'd like to go home feeling positive.

Well if we lose the Senate tonight I think

Obama will keep the lid on them. They will hate him even more but I like that prospect. We on the other hand may rally together around the President.
If a SCOTUS seat goes vacant I doubt Obama would nominate a conservative and the repukes will not pass a progressive so maybe it goes vacant for a while.
I don't think Obama will work with the repubs and they won't work with him.
Two years of gridlock. And impeachment would give us President Biden. Can they do a twofer?
We would not get anything passed anyway so we work for 2016. That is the year of my retirement. Hope I get a Dem government to boot.
