Didn't sway 4 million more voters to Hillary. Hillary swayed 4 million more voters to support her. The DNC bent over backwards for Bernie Sanders, allowing a non Democrat to run in their primaries, and giving him access to decades of tools, resources, and voter rolls.

Hillary won fair and square. With the primaries behind us now, and DWS out, it is time to unite behind Hillary. If your not voting for Hillary because she's "not progressive enough" when the alternative is ACTUAL fascism, then your progressivism is really just narcissism. Lets extend an olive branch, unite to defeat the neo-fascist, and then hold Hillary's feet to the fire for our causes. Anything less would be uncivilized.

This isnt cool. We were played. Honestly, its a bit fucked up. We spent years engaging in debate with them, trying to find common ground with them, offering kind words when they were angry or upset, etc. Jeez, I even see names there of people I've actually donated money to when they claimed on DU they fell on hard times. Despite minor policy differences, I thought they were our allies. It was all a sham. And Skinner, EarlG, Elad et al, welcomed them and their views with open arms, as we all did, and this is how they repay us, by ripping off DU with a shitty prototype website used to help Trump win the nomination? They are not progressives, they are bitter angry anarchists, disruptors, cynics, and authoritarian agent provocateurs. How do I know? Because Progressives build, anarchists destroy. I know they arent progressives because ACTUAL progressives (see: Liz Warren, Sherrod Brown, Bernie Sanders, etc.) are actually voting for Hillary. They are just anonymous internet posters who would rather destroy out of vindictiveness than ally with the candidate who has overwhelming support of every marginalized demographic in America. We must stay anchored in optimism. I'm grateful for DU and the open minded pragmatism here.

What would the media say if it were Hillary or even Obama in that scenario? Smell the double standard?

He has a 100% lifetime rating from NARAL and Planned Parenthood, and also voted against defunding Planned Parenthood every time.

Time to change the narrative on this whole "Americans are angry" bullshit, it will eat the heart, soul, and psyche of our Nation and leave a trail of its devoured corpse. America is what we project onto it, and unless we project optimism, cynicism will rot its core. Projecting anger and fear is a rightwing trait. If we project anger and fear, our citizens will project anger and fear. If we project hope and optimism, our citizens will project hope and optimism. Anger and fear will destroy America's psyche and our social fabric.

I honestly believe, despite the realization that America is far from perfect, and despite the realization we still have much more work to do, that we are actually living, collectively, in the happiest time in US history.

But I have to ask, why is no one talking about Gavin Newsom? Sure, you're probably thinking "but Janey, HRC has Cali in the bag". Ok, but he's a progressive Lt. Gov of a state that is the worlds 6th biggest economy, which would put Pence in his place at debates, he's very pro-lgbt and pro-woman, which would put Pence in his place at debates, he's young and charismatic, which would put Pence in his place at debates, did I mention he's 2nd in charge of a state that is the worlds 6th biggest economy? Gov.Pence has nothing on him.

Also, what is Trump going to do, start dissing California? He would lose every blue state and every swing state attacking an ultra-successful ultra-diverse state that contributes more to America's GDP than any other. Every celebrity in the world would also shred him (being Cali is their home). Another plus is, Gavin is very comfortable around media and interviews. He's great on Bill Maher and he does a great job promoting and defending liberal values.
