Meet the New face of the GOP — Marco Rubio. Same as the old face of the GOP. Anti-science and pro-ignorance. Apparently they took away the wrong lessons in the last election and decided to double down on flat-earth stupidity where the jury is still out on things such as evolution, geologic age of the Earth, Climate change, and gravity.
Marco Rubio: I'm not a scientist, man. I can tell you what recorded history says, I can tell you what the Bible says, but I think that's a dispute amongst theologians and I think it has nothing to do with the gross domestic product or economic growth of the United States. I think the age of the universe has zero to do with how our economy is going to grow. I'm not a scientist. I don't think I'm qualified to answer a question like that. At the end of the day, I think there are multiple theories out there on how the universe was created and I think this is a country where people should have the opportunity to teach them all. I think parents should be able to teach their kids what their faith says, what science says. Whether the Earth was created in 7 days, or 7 actual eras, I'm not sure we'll ever be able to answer that. It's one of the great mysteries.
Rubio thinks he is not qualified to answer a simple question which is known to 5th graders.
A google search gives you the answer, just as it would to a simple math query.
Not qualified, indeed.

The Obama campaign's technologists were tense and tired. It was game day and everything was going wrong.
Josh Thayer, the lead engineer of Narwhal, had just been informed that they'd lost another one of the services powering their software. That was bad: Narwhal was the code name for the data platform that underpinned the campaign and let it track voters and volunteers. If it broke, so would everything else.
They were talking with people at Amazon Web Services, but all they knew was that they had packet loss. Earlier that day, they lost their databases, their East Coast servers, and their memcache clusters. Thayer was ready to kill Nick Hatch, a DevOps engineer who was the official bearer of bad news. Another of their vendors, StallionDB, was fixing databases, but needed to rebuild the replicas. It was going to take time, Hatch said. They didn't have time.
They'd been working 14-hour days, six or seven days a week, trying to reelect the president, and now everything had been broken at just the wrong time. It was like someone had written a Murphy's Law algorithm and deployed it at scale.
And THAT was the point. "Game day" was October 21. The election was still 17 days away, and this was a live action role playing (LARPing!) exercise that the campaign's chief technology officer, Harper Reed, was inflicting on his team. "We worked through every possible disaster situation," Reed said. "We did three actual all-day sessions of destroying everything we had built."

I'm losing track of how many Republicans are involved in the Petraeus scandal.
So far is it: Petraeus, Broadwell, FBI agent, Eric Cantor, and a whistleblower? Is Jill Kelley? Are there more whistleblowers? This is getting very bizarre and very republican (the 2 aren't really mutually exclusive). How many Republicans involved? Who am I missing?

Our military industrial complex is WAAAAAY too big. None of these stories even made it back to the WH before hand. It seems as if the MIC reports to no one and has become a separate entity from our Govt altogether. Like the CIA & FBI are just entrenched in this deep, twisted spy-game across foreign borders, paranoid of each other with no stated goal except to weed out moles, who wouldn't even be involved in the first place if we weren't engaged in such far-reaching unknown wars & counter-intelligence affairs. What the hell must go on in these sort of shadow govt organizations?? This is just the stuff we know about, imagine what we don't know! Don't get me wrong, I believe Pres.Obama is FULLY in control of our on-the-books wars & all decisions made on military ground game i.e. Bin Laden raid, Afghan War, Strategy, Etc., but I'm not sure anyone even knows what the CIA & FBI is up to, including even them. Like I said, it seems like they answer to no one, pursue whatever they want to pursue, and have a vast far-reaching network that even our own Govt, no matter who is in the WH, Senate, Congress, can even grasp.

This man is scary-delusional. He gave up punditry and is now going for cult-leader. He also holds these appearances in arenas where he speaks and intertwines religion & govt so tightly you can hear our Founders rolling over in there graves. He brings fake props/replicas of historic items like the Liberty Bell & Constitution on stage and dupes idiots into believing they're the real thing. He has become an evangelist cult leader propaganda machine. People in the audience sway as if he is a messiah, not even realizing they're instead listening to the anti-Christ. (This is just his regular show, not his arena show. Obviously)
