USAFRetired_Liberal's JournalEven if the SCOTUS denies this Texas lawsuit
Something like this shouldnt even be possible...the fact that we just had 150 Million plus voters vote and the winning candidate has 81 Million of those votes, our country shouldnt be in the hands of 9 people to decide who is President.
WTF IS GOING ON
Yes, this is one of those concerned post that a lot of you guys rip on...but I dont care, I am so pissed off and worried....I hate Republicans, I hate Trump, I cant believe this coup attempt...this isnt the worlds greatest democracy, we dont have peaceful transitions of power, this last month has been just as nerve racking as the month leading up to the election...whats happening is such bullshit...if Al Gore and Hillary Clinton fought this hard they would have been totally lambasted...
There are too many rotten people with positions of power
The Constitution, other laws, and our institutions were written under the belief that we would have honorable noble people in office who would put country over their beliefs and their parties beliefs and if we had a few rotten people the system would be able to handle it and flush them out. But unfortunately it seems like there are waaay more than a few that are rotting at every level.
Texas SCOTUS lawsuit
Does anyone know what the argument is that these 4 particular states did differently than the other 46? You mean to tell me that these were the only 4 states that changed their election laws and whatever change they actually did was unconstitutional. And Georgia of all states with a republican governor who is all about voter suppression and a republican SOS did this, too.
I am so disgusted
Texas (a confederate state) and 17 other states (half of which were also confederates) are suing 4 States claiming that their citizens 14th amendment rights were violated. Ironically, that amendment is one of the reconstruction amendments that was put into the constitution because of the confederacy. Now those states have the nerve to sue states and disenfranchise a lot of African American voters.
If the SCOTUS takes this Texas case
Then the 4 states, plus California, Oregon, Washington, Maryland, NY, the New England states, Virginia, Colorado, and New Jersey need to sue those 18 states for violating the voting rights act....and that probably has more merit than the Texas frivolous lawsuit
Safe harbor in regard to Georgia, Pennsylvania and Michigan
According to this article, these stage he even met safe harbor...but what does that exactly mean especially with this stupid SCOTUS lawsuit that Texas filed
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/12/08/safe-harbor-deadline-arrives-hurting-trumps-bid-overturn-election/6478954002/
But Biden thinks he can compromise and work with these assholes
Its not just trump, but 99% of the GOP Congress hasnt recognized Bidens win, some have joined on to or supported frivolous lawsuits, and one has volunteered to speak the case to the SCOTUS,
If somehow this Texas SCOTUS case goes anywhere
And somehow the SCOTUS overturns the elections in those States......then Pelosi needs to refuse to seat the congressmen in those states also.
https://www.hklaw.com/en/insights/publications/2017/12/when-can-congress-refuse-to-seat-a-dulyelected-can
The wouldnt be duly elected, therefore, shouldnt be seated. Yes we would lose some Democrats, but the would lose more republicans. 30 Republicans to 24 Democrats
