This election reminds me of the lead up to the Iraq War

The media not doing its job questioning the validity of it and the American people being so gullible.

Donald Trump is Teflon

Regardless of what he says or does nothing sticks. The media doesn't cover it or barely mentions it and just moves on to the next story. His supporters don't care and others (who aren't hardcore dems/liberal) don't care either. It was funny and amusing during the primaries because "his antics could win the GOP primary, but obviously had no chance to win the general election". Now it is getting scary.

I don't ge it

I don't get how a state that went for Obama in 2008 & 2012 (Ohio, Nevada, and Iowa) can flip to trump this year. I mean, I know that states flip but Trump is to the extreme and significantly different than Obama, For a state to flip, that means that:

a. A significant amount of Obama voters are voting for Trump, and I don't see that.
b. The pollsters likely voter models are saying that a significant amount off Obama voters will not vote thus election. I would assume if you were a voter in '08 and '12, then that means that you are a likely voter
c. The pollsters are using likely voters who didn't vote in '08 and '12. And why would someone who didn't vote be considered a likely voter over domain who actually did vote?

What happened?

6 years ago the Clintons had very high approval ratings even among republicans. People had nostalgia about the Clinton presidency. Hillary was the most admired woman in America. Even republicans were praising them. I can remember them crying that Obama wasn't like the Clintons. They tried to tie themselves to his legacy. Now she the second most unpopular presidential candidate.

I guess the media/republicans did a good job of tearing them down.

Trump and paid Maternity leave

So trump and his daughter hold a briefing in which he lays out his maternity leave proposal and the media eats it up as if it is a new idea? The democrats have been proposing this for years and have always gotten republican resistance. Instead of the media fawning over this plan and gushing all over Ivanka, why don't they point out that it has been the republicans holding up progress on this. His supporters cheer him on too, as if they have not opposed it in the past with comments like

"How will we pay for it"
" What about the deficit"
"Why should I have to pay for this"
"She chose to have a baby"

But we all know those weren't the real reasons they opposed paid leave. It was because it was coming from a Democrat. I have feeling that if trump becomes president that he will adopt a lot of these democratic social policies as his own, and won't get resistance from the republican congress. Everything that they didn't support Obama on, they will then implement because they know that they are good ideas. And unfortunately, the media will give them the credit

Poll headlines

Have you all noticed that regardless the result, the headline and article on a poll is favorable for trump.

If Clinton had a lead, and regardless of the lead, the headlines are:

"Clintons lead shrinks"
"Trump closes in on Clinton"
"Clinton leads, but there are trouble signs"

While when trump is leading in a poll, even by one point, the headlines are:

"Trump leads in latest poll"
"Trump widens lead"

I am pissed

Grant it, Hillary shouldn't have said what she said only because this has allowed Trump and the media to turn this into a big issue. On top of that, she and her surrogates haven't done a good job on explaining why she was correct.

But I am pissed because what Hillary said was true. Trump supporters are racist bigots and the media is acting like they aren't. And trump has the nerve to be shocked about her comments as if he has not said worse things. And of course the media doesn't bring that up.

I wish the media

Would cover every outlandish Trump statement and act the way they cover Clinton's health and emails.

"No fair, why didn't we know about the pneumonia earlier?"

Trump gets away

With actually saying racist hateful rhetoric which a lot of racist deplorables are attracted to.

Hillary notes the truth about a lot of his supporter being hateful, and the media is all on it.

I wish they would cover Trumps comments like this

Hillary's deplorable trump supporters comments

http://www.cnn.com/2016/09/09/politics/hillary-clinton-donald-trump-basket-of-deplorables/index.html

But the problem is that it is actually true. The people at his rallies are a bunch of hateful birthers. They constantly chant "lock her up". They like when trump says hateful things. But now the media will focus on this and kill her for it. The way they are going to focus on this, I wish they would focus on all the hateful things Trump actually says and tweets.
